none of the items u scanned gave u local prices.

If i am at the mall, and i scan something - it will only give me web prices. Then u have the add shipping to those costs.

To get local prices, you have to turn on your GPS. Once you do that, open up the app, search for a product and you should get web and local results. :)

But u have to scrap the web for this data which is very bad for many reasons(ie: inacurate,must know ddl for website etc...).

It would only be useful if u can get the prices from the store. But u would have to have access to their db to get them.

Then u have stores like amazon that have different prices on web then in store.

If u cant provide this, this service is useless. If u can, its very valuable - i doubt this can happen.

This application is cool. I googled it and looked to see if it is available for iphone and it should be available for the iphone very soon possibly within the week. Hopefully it works great because every bar code app in the app store right now has no more than 2* ratings.

i suppose it will work only on iphone 3gs since you need a camera with auto-focus to scan barcodes. in other words, older iphones wouldnt be able to scan barcodes with their cameras.

Nope. Big in Japan (dev of ShopSavvy) said they have found the solution for correcting the camera issue with the iphone and iphone 3g. Hopefully their solution is effective. They submitted the app about 6 months ago to Apple but it was rejected because of the poor camera quality but that was before they found the fix they have now.

I heard that Big In Japan (developer of ShopSavvy) submitted the app in the app store, but Apple rejected it because of lack of auto-focus camera on the previous iPhone 3G. Now that the iPhone 3GS has auto focus, I think they should re-submit the app now :)

I want me dad to get an andriod phone either the HTC Magic or HTC Hero, his contract with Telus ends October so maybe the Hero will come out on Rogers, if not the Magic will be great. Im gonna flash the firmware to Sense. Im just wondering if andriod is good for someone that is not techsavy at all... i have a g1 and i love it. a good app is remote droid. it links your g1 to your computer and it turns the screen into a trackpad, the keyboard into a keyboard, and the little ball into a scroll wheel. it really is awesome

I have the HTC hero and I think the android market place is fab, its hard to find any apps that cost money... great right! This app is amazing I use it all the time! There is another app like this called "Barcode Scanner" and it is free as well but "ShopSavvy" is better in my opinion! :D
