@osvaldovillaf In 2008, Governor Anibal Acevedo Vila of Puerto Rico, was charged with 24 counts of conspiracy, fraud, and tax crimes related to his campaign finances.[18] During his trial, the judge threw out 15 of the 24 federal corruption charges due to insufficient evidence by the prosecution, and was eventually acquitted of all charges against him due to lack of evidence.[19][20]

@osvaldovillaf The same year, Puerto Rican Senator Jorge de Castro Font, member of the New Progressive Party (NPP), was arrested by the FBI and charged with 32 criminal counts of extortion, bribery, fraud, and money laundering, stemming back as early as 1996.n 2009, he pled guilty to federal corruption charges. In exchange for his plead, prosecutors agreed to drop 10 of the original charges against him and are recommending a prison sentence of between 9 and 11 years.

Viva Puerto Rico y Viva Cuba. Puerto Rico que sea libre y soberana y lo mismo para Cuba, q sea libre de Fidel. Pero cuidado q no se confunda nadie q el destino de mi Cuba no acabe en manos de USA pq mucha gente murió para que eso no pasara en mi país, no solo Fidel luchó por eso, mi abuelo también peleó en la guerra por la revolución del 59 y se murió con la verguenza de lo q se convirtió la revolución cubana. Back in 1511, Spain issues an official flag for Puerto Rico, based in the Coat of Arms authorized by the spanish monarchs.On December 22, 1894, a group of 59 Puerto Ricans gather at "Chimney Corner Hall" in New York City and organizes a political group, attached to the Cuban Revolutionary Party to organize the Pro-Independence movement in Puerto Rico, still under Spanish ruling. According to the meeting acts, the flag is same as the cuban, but the color stripes are inverted.

The origin of the flag of Puerto Rico. On 21 December 1895, "Patria", the official organ of the Cuban Revolutionary Party, announced a meeting during which the Puerto Rico Section of the party should be formed. The meeting was attended on 22 December 1895 by 59 Puerto Ricans; a survivor from the Grito de Lares insurrection, presented the new flag of Puerto Rico during the meeting. It was similar to the Cuban flag, but with inverted colours for the triangle and coloured stripes

In honor of Cespedes and the bravery of the residents of Bayamo, who during the 10 Year War burned the prosperous city to the ground and moved to the forrest rather than surrender it to the Spaniards, Bayamo was proclaimed a "National Monument". Since Cuba gained independence from Spain, the flag of Bayamo is displayed alongside the Cuban national flag at official ceremonies and events
