I did judo when I was younger and for it doesn't have the kiaing and high kicking of other arts, it's still effective and the groundwork is very rigorous. However, all martial arts have their good points: the breaking used in Korean arts usually means the practitioner has hands and feet like steel and a punch from someone doing these arts would probably put you underground and the Chinese styles have some very rapid and good hand techniques.
judo always wins, too many amateuers think it sucks because there is noch punching and kicking. and yes thats true, but 80% of all fights end up in a clinch.
There are just too many subleties of technique (this or any other martial arts related) to be demonstrated in a one minute video. This video is so simplistic that it almost does more harm than good. It shows the base technique without the subtle component parts that make the technique effective. The throw itself isn't done too poorly (God knows it could be better), but the over-riding concern is the lack of depth of the explanation. Too shallow a perspective on an intricate and beautiful throw.
Awesome. I love seeing what the western world deems as "elderly people" break falling with ease. Could it be that all we need is the proper technique to navigate this world instead of warnings against even trying? Love it. Thank you.
Nice tai toshi that old man gots going on lol, and krish your severely retarted, im pretty god damn sure that judo is effective in a street fight idiot.
A friend of mine has a black belt in judo and he is also a bouncer. He bounced a patron on the ground once and he didnt get up again until the ambulance arrived. So yes, Judo is effective!
@ImprintAudio Judo & Boxing = winning combination. I threw someone who tried to choke me with a shoulder throw - & cracked their head open, so I agree Judo does work.
do you know the easiest throw in judo can cause a suddenly dead judo its dangerous you see the breaking falls easy but think when someone drops you on your back
As a self defense judo is probably preferable. However, the best thing is if u are skilled in both grappling and punching. Thats why it might be a good idea to watch some mma training/ techniques.
So perhaps combine some boxing with som grappling martial art.
Also, on the street, u have to prepared for dirty attacks like knife attacks, biting, hits so very vurnerable body parts, finger breaking a etc
To defend against knife attacks, Krav Maga has some good instructions.
it really depends on teh fighter...i did watch this one judo v karate match once...the judo guy just jumps on him like a spider and the karate guy didnt know what to do...before he knew it he was in a world of hurt...i think id be best to be a little good and both
you do not need to be waring a gi for this because normal cloths can be quite srtong round the shaulder area and to make it easer to use in the street you can use your hip to get the lift then throw
its not pronounced tai o TOE shi its tai o TOH shi
