4 sounds like death when you say it. 8 sounds like wealth or money. it comes from chinese. other numbers are neutral depending how you use them.

similar to homonyms. there can be up to 4 different ways to pronounce a single syllabol in chinese. It's like accents in other languages. It gets interesting when you get deep into the root meanings but you would have to learn the language and culture to fully understand it.
