I fucking love the Queen II album, I feel like I'm in another world or something, especially with this song. This whole song reminds me of the elf forest on LOTR, where the fellowship stops for a break.
They really never went pop, however some of their music was so popULAR that it ended up on the radio. If it was up to them, I can clearly say that they didn't want "pop pop chew chew" in their music, they wouldnt have put out music like this if they did.
Is simply don't understand why this song hasn't entered the charts 1974 and why it's rather unknown, because this is one of the most beautiful love songs ever written.
Every one who hears this (and has a little taste in music) would agree.
Freddie Mercury Brian May Roger Taylor John Deacon .these 4 talented musicians and songwriters were a perfect combination .they were together for 20 years when Freddie passed..I saw them in '77 and'78 at MSG they were just brilliant no one put on a show like they did it was an amazing ride they just blew me away Freddie Mercury was the best frontman ever.Brian May a guitar master Roger Taylor great on drums and John Deacon brilliant bass Freddie is gone almost 20 yrs but the music lives on
Almost nobody wrote a comment on fantastic Roger's drums. The sound of the drums makes this version (for me at least) best all around. Roger did it so well, so they give special mistic sound to it, it's a pity he didn't make it the same way in the album version. I don't know why but the drums here remind me of a sound of Alfa Romeo's 1750 twin cam engine from the sixties, crazy.
Brian May: the wonderful, talented man who wrote this breathtaking song. My favourite Queen member with an amazing guitar and even better hair. To this day, he keeps Queen alive alongside Roger Taylor; both deserve to be knighted for all their efforts. Brian has written some of my favourite Queen songs (this, '39, The Prophet's Song, Keep Yourself Alive, the list goes on).
In celebration of Dr. May's achievements, I want to wish him a very happy 64th birthday today, and may God bless him.
to me the best ever queen track it has everything mr Mercurys amazing vocal power feeling mr taylors drumming mr deacons bass and mr mays amazing guitar very mystical very lovely to me AND ONLY ME this was Queens peak no offence to lovers of night at the opera etc but this was my era x
QI & QII are in a league of their own, nothing before or since can compare to the originality and musical story these albums deliver, these are perfect works of art!
Queen has everything you want in a band. Four awesome songwriters, an amazing lead singer that no one can compare with, a perfect drummer who can sing so awesomely, A badass guitarist like no other with his guitar sounding as if it was from another world, and a bass player who sounds just right for any sound no matter what it is. They even got character and personality that makes them even more fun band to listen and watch. To me, the greatest band to ever appear in Rock and Roll history.
Farrokh Bulsara....the world is a darker place without you....so glad I grew up in the 70's and had a chance to see Queen live..... ! It was an Amazing ride...Freddie Mercury a voice that was a close to perfect as you get a sexy, beautiful soul ,Brian May guitar master, Roger Taylor amazing drums and that falsetto! John Deacon wrote some of Queens most memorible songs.....This is a great song!
Anyone who would actually think to call a band like Queen "sellouts", really doesn't understand Queen...OR music. At all. If you go back to Queen I, their first album, in 1971, their music has ALWAYS been varied and ecclictic. It was never just "rock" or "proto-metal", though some of their songs certainly fit that bill. They had ballads, weird songs, great songs, of ALL styles, on every one of their albums. So know your Queen, and get a life.
There is a LONG story for me with this song. Basically, the song explains how a person is so much in love with a woman, yet he is afraid to tell her. Every time he sees her he melts, yet she cannot see how badly he adores her. His darkest fear is that he will wait too long to tell her, and at that point it will be too late, for she has found another. Such is life, eh?
Even after two great albums, Queen apparently was making no money, thanks to their greedy management. It wasn't until after 1975 and Bohemian Rhapsody that they really saw an improvement in their income, and became know worldwide, and changed management, of course :)
I think this is my favourite live Queen performance. I loved Freddie's stage persona during the 80s but everything about this concert (and this song in partticular) just feels very special. Vocally mind-blowing and the whole band just sound spectacular. I was only 8 years old when Freddie passed away. I will feel sad for the rest of my life knowing that I never got to see QUEEN in their majestic glory. What a great fucking band.
@arapoda You missed a treat thats for sure! best live band ever and I had the privilage of seeing them several times and am so glad that you appreciate them now excellence will out!! XX
IT's Sooooo dificult for a band to play live without the choirs you have in a studio......but again......queen does it, no choirs... just freddy's voice. And they rearranged the music so it could be done live, and what a job....the song stays powerfull and emotional.........Queen forever!!!!!
Saw Queen, Aerosmith and Mott the Hoople together in Harrisburg PA in the early 70s. Mott the Hoople was the headliner. Queen and Aerosmith were no-name backup bands. I was in a daze by the time Mott the Hoople came out. Never seen anything like it before or since.
They're so great!!! Freddie, you're so sexy and good-looking!!! I Love you for ever. This song is so beautiful! Thank you very much, queen, to write so great songs!!! Wihtout you, I'm nothing!
I loved the early Queen but didn't like the direction they took after Sheer Heart Attack but Freddie always was an outstanding artist ... what a voice!
i have been raised by Queen's musicn my father being a fan of them...but it is lately that i figured out how much the 60s mentality makes the occidental male guilty of everything, also feminising him. feminists, gays, & other movements stand always against the western straight male, until they will destroy him.. making him giulty for everything. Hopefully this fucked up ideology & propaganda put on a beautiful song will end soon. "Where you gonna hide from the hell you've made"?

Freddie was in my dream last night...there were 2 of him! One of him looked like he did in this video, the other one looked like he did in the video for Don't Stop Me Now....I wonder if that's a sign for something
One of my favorite songs from the first Queen album!! Marvelous live version; love it! Thank you so much for taking out your time to share this wonderful clip!!
@bluesknees don't say that Queen is a sell out band. Not in this video.
They had a side of which I'm not a big fan, I agree with you. It hurts to listen to something like Hot Space. That sell-out side isn't a honest Queen.
However, before Freddie's death they were honest with theirselves and once again composed beautiful songs in the album Innuendo, recovering the complexity and beauty they would show in the beginning.
@bluesknees Rdio Ga Ga is taking a stab at the crap that was playing on the radio Roger's daughter heard a song on the radio and she said "Daddy that is Radio ka ka" so he wrote the song. Each band at one point "sell out" otherwise they dont make enough cash to stick around long enough for you to hate them.
@bluesknees Yes it is!!! Queen in the 70's were the greatest!!!! Queen II is so sophisticated, clever, complex, visionary, beautiful...... Queen in the 80's were a hit making machine!!!! Roger even used a bloody drum machine on Radio Gaga..... the man who originally claimed 'no synthesisers'!!!!! They returned to some level of sophistication with Innuendo, at least. I love Queen, but Radio Gaga makes my skin crawl: I just see 'sell out' written all over it!!!
yep, 70's for me too, forgot the tour , but at the end this had tiny drumset lowered in, and they did played some honky tonk for the encore.
10's of thousands of screaming fanatics, serious theatrics, major sets (3 hour gigs), illegal DBs worth of amplification ;) .... you just don't see gigs like that anymore....
@bluesknees Queen - a sell out!? I don't think so! How about the most innovative, most eclectic, most amazing, & best band ever! So versatile, so much risk taking in all the music genres they dared to explore. They're totally awesome!!
@FREDDIEFREAK9 Well, They are Not the best. There are 5 other bands competing out there for that title.....What I like about them is that they had a very unique sound, no one sounds like them, while others can sound like, say, Beatles, or Led Zeppelin.
@DieFatorLiveThin....I think that was a misunderstanding of language. Of course Queen's concerts were always sold out; they were the absolute best, ever!!
I was responding to a guy who disparagingly claimed that Queen was a 'sell-out,' meaning they caved to the popular mediocrity, which, of course, they never did.
They did things their own way, whether popular or not, and pioneered a new 'rock' landscape where no rock band ever went, dabbling into opera, ballet, and so many varied genres. Queen!
@FREDDIEFREAK9 well Queen were commercial but not to the extent of selling out and making crap for money. They wanted to be the big rock band although they never said hey this will make millions even though it's crap. They did what they wanted and are the perfect band. Wish Freddie was still here :(
it's sad that freddy died way to young, but on the other hand, the "final" albums are brilliant, and if Freddy didnt die, i guess those albums wouldnt excist. altho Queen II is the best album they've made
lol queen 2 is my favourite album francho and generally regarded as one of their best albums. i have to say though iv never heard this version of white queen and iv been a queen fan since the 70s lol
Woooow this video is a ma zing!! I think that this live version it´s even better than the original, totally amazing!! The people that were there or in the others Queen´s concerts were so lucky!!
Francho292006: Queen is extremely popular here in Brazil, just like in Argentina! That´s one passion in commom, just like soccer but without any rivalry, you know!
hi, i am 14 years old, from argentina, and i must say, Queen is a religion to me, And Brian is my God, they are the only thing in mi life, i can´t live one day without listening at least one time to Queen they are the best band of the world for ever, and this song is one of the best songs, we are practicing it whit my band, i Think Queen and Queen II are 2 very underrated albums, they must be more known.
@gretos1975 You're just 12 and you listen to Queen? OMG, I'm sooo glad to know that! Queen must live forever, you know, the show can only go on if it does so from generation to generation. :)
Hi friend, I am 14 and i love Queen too, i Think that we are the ones who have to keep listening to Queen and make our Friends listen to them, when i entered to my school i meet a boy (that now is the bassist in our band ) and now he is as fan as me, The show will go on with boys like us
This song is so so very good..Queen II is my favorite album of all time. What other band fuses hard rock, metal, glam, prog, folk, and baroque into one incredible sound?? Only Queen could pull that off.
I agree heartily with your pick of Queen II as the best album. I don't think I've met anyone else who appreciates it as much as me.. so, Nice to meet you.
every note is timeless perfection. It's been 30 some years and I can still listen to the whole thing, my kids have even grown to love it. How can they not?
@mrknowitall326 Usually I say Queen 2 is my favorite. It's a very tough choice though, isn't it? Any of the first 6 albums could easily be my favorite Queen album. Or 7. Or 8. It depends entirely upon my mood at the time. :)
@ReneeNme, you're very lucky to have gotten to see them. I was only 6 when Freddie died, so I didn't get to see them, I just recently discovered how amazing they were, until then, I only thought of them as "the guys that sang that song on Wayne's World" but I'm finding out they were so much more. And you're right, today's music is crap.
A TRULY ICONIC ALBUM THIS SONG CAN STILL MAKE THE HAIRS ON THE BACK OF MY NECK TINGLE EVEN AFTER ALL THESE YEARS AN ALBUM THAT TRULY HAS NO "FILLERS " ON IT I CAN EVEN REMEMBER INTO BOOTS TO BUY IT WHEN IT CAME OUT & BEING BLOWN AWAY BY IT AND STILL AM

Freddie was in my dream last night...there were 2 of him! One of him looked like he did in this video, the other one looked like he did in the video for Don't Stop Me Now....I wonder if that's a sign for something

It pains me to hear this song as I've grown to hate Queen so much now. This song is so good, so melodic, so beautiful.
Explain to me Radio Ga Ga.
Is this the biggest sell out band in history?
bluesknees 1 year ago
@bluesknees don't say that Queen is a sell out band. Not in this video.
They had a side of which I'm not a big fan, I agree with you. It hurts to listen to something like Hot Space. That sell-out side isn't a honest Queen.
However, before Freddie's death they were honest with theirselves and once again composed beautiful songs in the album Innuendo, recovering the complexity and beauty they would show in the beginning.
So sad it ends. As it began.

@easye1973 It was Roger's son.....
stravinsky99 1 year ago
@bluesknees Yes it is!!! Queen in the 70's were the greatest!!!! Queen II is so sophisticated, clever, complex, visionary, beautiful...... Queen in the 80's were a hit making machine!!!! Roger even used a bloody drum machine on Radio Gaga..... the man who originally claimed 'no synthesisers'!!!!! They returned to some level of sophistication with Innuendo, at least. I love Queen, but Radio Gaga makes my skin crawl: I just see 'sell out' written all over it!!!
stravinsky99 1 year ago
@stravinsky99
yep, 70's for me too, forgot the tour , but at the end this had tiny drumset lowered in, and they did played some honky tonk for the encore.
10's of thousands of screaming fanatics, serious theatrics, major sets (3 hour gigs), illegal DBs worth of amplification ;) .... you just don't see gigs like that anymore....
JonP1961 1 year ago
@bluesknees Queen - a sell out!? I don't think so! How about the most innovative, most eclectic, most amazing, & best band ever! So versatile, so much risk taking in all the music genres they dared to explore. They're totally awesome!!
QUEEN'S THE BEST!!!
FREDDIEFREAK9 1 year ago 77
@FREDDIEFREAK9 Well, They are Not the best. There are 5 other bands competing out there for that title.....What I like about them is that they had a very unique sound, no one sounds like them, while others can sound like, say, Beatles, or Led Zeppelin.
panda123456789ed 1 year ago
@FREDDIEFREAK9 they sold out time and time again. I could never get tickets to their concerts.
DieFatorLiveThin 1 year ago 3
@DieFatorLiveThin....I think that was a misunderstanding of language. Of course Queen's concerts were always sold out; they were the absolute best, ever!!
I was responding to a guy who disparagingly claimed that Queen was a 'sell-out,' meaning they caved to the popular mediocrity, which, of course, they never did.
They did things their own way, whether popular or not, and pioneered a new 'rock' landscape where no rock band ever went, dabbling into opera, ballet, and so many varied genres. Queen!
FREDDIEFREAK9 1 year ago 4
@FREDDIEFREAK9 well Queen were commercial but not to the extent of selling out and making crap for money. They wanted to be the big rock band although they never said hey this will make millions even though it's crap. They did what they wanted and are the perfect band. Wish Freddie was still here :(

it's sad that freddy died way to young, but on the other hand, the "final" albums are brilliant, and if Freddy didnt die, i guess those albums wouldnt excist. altho Queen II is the best album they've made

This song is so so very good..Queen II is my favorite album of all time. What other band fuses hard rock, metal, glam, prog, folk, and baroque into one incredible sound?? Only Queen could pull that off.

@TheChugulator
I agree heartily with your pick of Queen II as the best album. I don't think I've met anyone else who appreciates it as much as me.. so, Nice to meet you.
every note is timeless perfection. It's been 30 some years and I can still listen to the whole thing, my kids have even grown to love it. How can they not?
mrknowitall326 1 year ago 2
