I nearly died laughing @ 1:08 when he's talking about not praying to Zeus, Anubis, etc. Bahahahahaha! The guy's faces who was praying are hilarious! When he scooted closer I roared with laughter! Notice the guy laughing in the backround. I love when the Saints can laugh in church despite how the world portrays us.
goodness... Church is suppose to be the one place you feel the MOST at home, it is Jesus's body!!! It's where His parts come together and desccuse how they are doing and if they need encourgment...
I really love this message. Many people are afraid to go to church because they 'dont know how to' go to church, if that makes sense...People don't know what to wear or how to act or what to say and how to say it... church has become a place that people are not comfortable in... God accepts everyone 'as is' and so should our churches.
hedied4me7...relax...I'm sure Christ had a sense of humor. I think if you can't laugh you missed the point. I'm not just a Christian, but a Christ follower...which means, I'm not perfect. I remember being nervous in church which most people who are new believers do. Ive beena Christin over 20 years now...its all good ...relax lol
guys, this person uploaded this video for a good laugh, they're not making fun of others. because do you seriously think someone would lift weights in church?
Did u notice this is the church? Not the world? Of course we should fit in with people of God. Have you read 1 Corinthians? Let there be no divisions in church. If this video was about fitting in the world I'd agree with you but this about God's children. We should all fit in, after all, we have the same root, which is Jesus.
Very funny! However as a Christian I don't attend church for the simple fact that it is nothing more than a rather snobby social club. I prefer true worship with real people. So how does one REALLY fit in @ church, and do I really want to?
That all depends on what church you go to, and sad to say it really is hard to tell the good from the bad unless you church hop and really get into it.
There are churches that promote gays, there are churches full of sin and say its ok, and there are churches that are even snobby, but there also are churches that people go to to worship Jesus Christ and what he did and is doing and what he is going to do.
Sure not everybody will like church, but you can't please everyone.
gizzmomo, just as evey watch, building and car had a creator, this world has a Creator. I know that if you will read Lee Strobels Case for Christ or watch the video with an open mind, you may think differently. That is if you are not afraid of being proven wrong, check it out. Praying for you.
Oh, I thought you were asking about faith in our Lord and Savior..now I get it. You just want to know how faith in a polyanna way of looking at things is good. I dont have faith in mankind
With faith, trust and my own testamony I can prove the Bible. I can't however prove any of my history books..yet we take those at their word. All the wars-Fictional, the first couple dozen presidents- Fictional. don't show me a casket, or I'll show you Jesus' tomb.
well see, I can't just "HAVE faith", because I already DO have faith. I have faith in my fellow man, I have faith in the human spirit, I have faith that the world will be better someday. What you would like me to do is believe something that can't be proven, which is to ask me to be irrational. So... no, I reject your "answer" on the grounds that it doesn't make any sense.
0:50 yes especially some christians hate snakes for the story of Adam and Eva.
The best was 1:43 "Don't advertise your bussiness at church, at least not in an obvious way." lol, lol. Ok, so now I know, that I can advertise my bussiness at least in an hidden way at church.
so you dont believe in anything? do you belive in evolution...? or are you athiest? both of those are religions... and christianity dont have to be about religion.. actually a lot of Christians put their religion before God...
I thought this video was hilarious! But I am a strong christan and would it be wrong or sinful to favorite this? Please don't respond this telling me to go f*** off of something like that. I want to know from another christan... is it okay if i fav it? Is this video immoral?
No I'm just kidding, I'm not religious but as far as I can tell these guys are, and they didn't say anything negative about the bible, so I'd say it's safe to favorite.
It is funny...b/c it's a humerous of showing that anyone can go to church and fit in so long as they don't do rediculous things. Please try to lighten up and see the big picture.
Favorite it! It's just a funny way of showing people who are afraid they won't fit in at church....It's a humerous way to say that as long as you don't do rediculous things, you are welcome.
my youth pastor decided to do "youh camp" at our church this year teaming up with a mission trip organization that wuz there and he showed this video before the service one nite. One of our adult leaders has a ferret and we all looked at him wen they mentioned breeding ferrets in church. HAHA lovin this video!! =)
some people will say that they dont know how to go to church which makes sense. someone who is a protestant wouldnt know how to act in a catholic church or buddhist church or whatever. all that this video says is that, all u need to do is come and you'll be accepted and that all can be accepted as God's child.
dude, thats the whole point is the faith that God does exist and Jesus did come and die for u. Not bcuz there is scientific evidence. scientists are ppl like everyone else and they cant prove or disprove everything. God leaves room for doubt and questioning bcuz he wants u to love and believe in him w/o seeing him. he gave u free will and u can choose to serve him or not. ur not a robot designed to be forced to love some one or something.. u are granted the choice.
really? Can you disprove God? Even an educated man such as Darwin believed that God exists and couldn't disprove Him...so I'm curious to know your reasoning.
Interesting spin on words I never said. I said he (as in god) "can't be proven". I never said he could be disproven. If you're done putting words in my mouth, I'd like you to stop misquoting Darwin as well. For your information, you should read "Origin of Species". In it, he allots an entire chapter to the massive loopholes in his theory. Facial.
this is why its important to know and teach the truth. I went to a church with hindu's and Buddhists, they were culturally hindu or Buddhist without knowing exactly what they believed about it, much like many Christians are simply culturally. Many after learning about Jesus and the Bible (not blindly) came to know Christ through the Bible through studying it. It is important that people know the truth to teach the truth. If a country didn't know math, they would teach their kids bad math
thats because you havent studied islam skillet.... Muhammed was a pediphile, marrying a 6 year old girl and sleeping with her when she was 9, he was a polygamist, having 9 wives, murderer for funding the spread of Islam with murdering other groups for money, and he was the exception to the rule of marrying only 4 women according to their belief. When he first started seeing and i quote "visions of god, or whatever" He told his wife he was having serious nightmares, (continued)
and his much older rich wife told him those were dreams from god, even though they were extremely scary and he had convulsions and foamed at the mouth while he was having them, not to mention he made noises like a camel in the process of this. (demon possession? highly likely) He didn't claim to be God, didn't claim to be perfect (therefore he didn't claim to know everything) not perfect means we can be wrong, Jesus claimed to be God, claimed to be perfect, etc and backed it up
None of this changes the fact that skillets right. If you were born and raised in a country like Saudi Arabia, you'd think Islam is the only religion that makes sense.
You need to read my reply to that claim... I'll post it here.
"You say that if I was born in a Muslim country, I would be a Muslim. This is true, but you also forget that if Christianity is indeed, fact, then God planned that I would be his child, along with all other Christians. Therefore, since God knows all things, he would know where to put me so I would become a Christian."
In a nutshell, you are looking at this from a human's 4th-dimensional perspective, not God's.
"but you also forget that if Christianity is indeed fact"
You can't use that as an answer. That would be like me saying that Christianity can't be right, if aliens exist. Sure it's true, but it's not a very good argument or answer.
Skillet was stating that you only believe what you believe because of where you were born, and it's true. You most likely believe in Christianity because your parents and/or the people around you believe in it.
That is your problem: you are looking at this all from a 4th dimensional view. If you think about it, a Christian would be a Christian because God wanted him to be, if he indeed exists.
no, no one is forced to be a christian. no one put a gun to your head. God gives u the free will and u can choose to serve and love him or not.that is america.our own choice.other countries dont do that.they are forced to remain a religion which may cause it to be geographical.if u notice w/o god's law, there would be no exact law.one persons morals can tell them that murder is right when another can say that it is wrong.god sets the standard and americas constitution is based on the commanments
Your not reading my reply. Ywing said someone would be a christian because God wanted them to be. That would be against free will. It would be like god making someone christian.
"they are forced to remain a religion which may cause it to be geographical."
Only countries under sharia law have a population forced to a religion.
no,God doesnt make someone Christian. Christians are followers of Christ. and if they are Christians, then they chose to follow Christ. Some one who believes in God doesnt have to be a christian. they dont have to believe in Christ. again, Christians are just followers of christ and they didnt have to choose that. They can still disobey and God isnt gonna strike them dead bcuz he gave us free will and choice. he sent us his son as a gift. you can take it or leave it.
"and americas constitution is based on the commanments"
Not that it really matters to me what the U.S. constitution says, It still isn't based off the commandments. If it was based off the commandments, you wouldn't have things like religious freedom, and adultery would be illegal.
i didnt say all ten commandments. we cant steal or murder. and why is that? what makes that morally wrong? was it our founding father's opinion of what's morally right? that cant be it bcuz someone else's opinion could be different. so who said stealing was wrong? God did. if not...then anyone can argue that the law against murder is unfair. the rest of the commandments, thats left up to free will. as long as it wasnt hurting another human, the founders of the const left that to God's punishment
I still could. God has been here long before anything. Those are his standards. He has been here before the Bible was written. and the not all the parts of the Bible wasnt written at the exact same time. His law was still existing even though the ten commandments werent actually written out. but still you cant say those laws were coming from human morality? because there is no definite morals considering all the other opinions out there except God's and his is all fair.
like i said bcuz it is against God's law. God created the law and to him every sin is equal. he said if we are guilty of one, we are guilty of law. what i meant by fair is that, is that everyone is treated how they are wanted to be. everyone is treated the same if the laws are followed. there is no law that says go kill all the jews, or chinese, or whatever. we are all the same. but that is what jesus is for, we are forgiven of those sins. Jesus did not condemn the women who done aldultery.
"God created the law and to him every sin is equal."
That would make no sense and be incredibly unfair. It would be like the government passing a law that makes it so a person who didn't pay their parking tickets, get the same punishment as a mass murder. All crimes aren't equal. And the one thing I have to say to someone (not necessarily you) who considers homosexuality as bad as rape,is go fucking kill yourself. Whether your a god or person.
dude...thats why a christian's mission is to spread the word of God not hold it in and just teach it to ur family and no one else. but if u notice, there is no morality. there is no true law if u dont have God. In one person's morals, u can murder and in another, its wrong. God sets the standard in his commandments and in his son Jesus. and it is all good. It all boils down to the golden rule. it is all fair.
also no offense but i wouldn't base my eternity on yahoo answers. There is no proof for macro-evolution, just theories. Good science is observable, testable, etc, anything else i wouldn't call science. Its a shame as people we think we know more that God. Romans 1:22 states, claiming to be wise people became fools, because they exchanged the immortal God for images resembling animals and mortal man. Basically God's word says though man may have a dr's degree if they deny God theyarentwise
also, please respond to this before you say I'm not making any arguments- "dude, just admit that christianity works best for you because you don't know any other way of living. If it weren't for geography, you'd be a muslim, and then THAT would be the best system. In the real world, a healthy mind capable of dissent is the best thing to hope for."
You say that if I was born in a Muslim country, I would be a Muslim. This is true, but you also forget that if Christianity is indeed, fact, then God planned that I would be his child, along with all other Christians. Therefore, since God knows all things, he would know where to put me so I would become a Christian and minister to YOU, killerskillet.
dude, just admit that christianity works best for you because you don't know any other way of living. If it weren't for geography, you'd be a muslim, and then that would be the best system. In the real world, a healthy mind capable of dissent is the best thing to hope for. Also, I don't appreciate you defending pedophile rapists. Please stop.
Um, atheists are "pedophile rapists," too. Hitler was an atheist. Stalin is an atheist. You can't group Christians all into one category, skilletboy, or I can call you a Jew-Murdering lunatic. You're arguments have no substance.
the facts of the bible? which bible, exactly? the first one, which doesn't exist anymore, or the greek translation of said book? Or maybe the german translation, but my guess is the English translation, which is to say that it's been handled by at least 4 other people and manipulated and twisted into words you can understand. For example, the word associated with Mary is virgin, but there's a word in greek that could mean virgin or "young" so nobody really knows anything about the mother of god.
actually, you are mistaken. The word that means virgin, or young maid is the word "almah" (it's hebrew). there is only one word for virgin in greek, it is parthenos (it translates solely to virgin). Almah was used in the book of isaiah foreshadowing what was to come. Matthew used the greek word when he spoke of the virginity when he was accounting of the virgin birth. it translates only virgin.
mathhew, the alleged man who lived a millenium ago, used the greek word even though he spoke aramaic. oh, and the word actually used in Hebrew scriptures is "almah" (="young woman").
The Hebrew word which could have been used, BUT WASN'T, was "bethulah" (="virgin"). So my bad, I guess I meant to say "there's a word in Hebrew... etc."
thats what I said, it is almah (that is the one that was used, and it has double meaning).... Liberal schoalrs try to account for the latter hebrew you tried to use. furthermore "young maid" used back then is not the same as today. "young maid does not mean "not virgin".... it was used to describe a dame in waiting.
almah means a young woman in hebrew. The bible was first written in hebrew, then mistranslated to greek for the word that only means virgin in greek. Scholars the world over have agreed upon the original hebrew word meaning young woman, and bibles such as the Revised Standard Version have the word "virgin" properly translated back into "young woman". If you care to bring up the dead sea scrolls, why not mention the newly found book of Judas?
I see you're back here. You still haven't written me back. Was my proof that good?
Anyway, the Book of Judas is fake. The Dead Sea Scrolls are scientifically and historically correct. If you care to look on the internet to verify my claim, feel free.
As for Mary, as I guess you are speaking of, she was a virgin. Why else would she say to the Angel Gabriel "But I am a virgin." You are saying that she would say "But I am a young woman." That is no reason to not believe.
i haven't written you back because when you say something is entirely concrete and incapable of ever being disproven, you are delusional. You look at the dynamic world around you, and are afraid of how unstable it is, so you grasped on to a story. Saying something as arrogant as "THE BIBLE IS TRUE" makes a rational person like me step back and mention that apparently it is the only thing EVER that won't be disproven... which is irrational to the nth degree.
Um, I wrote you so much proof in that letter, and you can't disprove it. I wrote you so much disproof against evolution in that letter, and you can't disprove that. All you can say is that I'm wrong. HELLO? Show me one intelligent reason the Bible isn't real and evolution is, please. I think I won if you can't even give an intelligent reason to believe in what you believe in.
dude, how many times do i need to tell you this? the burdon of proof lies on the person who makes the claim. "The bible is real" is a claim that was made thousands of years before the concept of evolution, so it's on you to prove to yourself it is real, not me. And as far as proving evolution is concerned, it's a theory, not a law. There are very few scientific laws out there, gravity being one of them. You're asking for the impossible twice over.
citing examples of natural landmarks like rivers and mountains proves nothing. Generic referances to psychiology mean nothing. When you say "Now tell me something other than 'evolution is real.' Give me proof, as you never have" you force me to pull out my trump card. I never claimed evolution was the answer to all of life's mysteries. However i was forced to argue for science's sake, you all decided to name it "evolution". I am for an ever-EVOLVING, dynamic understanding of our world. You arent
There is another intelligent, "ever-evolving" theory ins science I support, skillet, and it's called Intelligent Design. Unlike evolution, it hasn't been disproved, and it is NOT creationism. Intelligent Design is a theory that simply states that "The world was created by a form of intelligence of some sort." It is not in any way related to religion, by the way. It is not biased towards any religion, either. There's your "ever-evolving" science.
It's great that you're willing to admit you know everything. Now burry your head in the sand a little deeper, I hear science is coming up with some new facts this year. Let me ask you, are you religious because your parents are religious, or is it because you sought every answer in an easy-to-swallow capsule as an adult? Either way, belief in god is the claim of a desperate man with no answers and no argument.
Don't worry, I am replying to your message, desu35. You are probably the best person at defending evolution I've met, and I'm glad you came here, as it is here I am dealing with killerskillet, who needs a little help (and proof.)
"DNA is a thing, not proof." - right, because THINGS can't be proof. I remember when I saw that murder trial when they threw the murder weapon away. Another thing, when you start every response with "UMM..." it comes off as condescending and rude, like you feel you have the right to talk down to anyone. Here's the proof inside DNA- humans are 98.4% similar to apes. Wow, 130 letters left to use after making my point and calling you out on being rude, that's economical of me.
Hey, did you know that: "Humans and bananas share 70% DNA" - from Yahoo Answers?
Anyway, apes sharing human DNA can hardly be very much proof... unless you think that we descended from bananas, too.
I'm sorry if I'm sounding rude. That is not my intent. I have just been getting frustrated at the fact of you having no evidence and you acting like you know more than me. But I am sorry for acting rude.
Anyway, top that.
PS: I'm left with a less efficient 22, but it will do.
You're talking in circles again. It isn't my job to PROVE evolution, it's science's. You have to do your own critical thinking and decide if you favor the blind faith that comes with religion, or the incomplete log of science that gets fuller and more complete DAILY. And yahoo answers, wow, very credible. Also, 1.6 is a much smaller margin than THIRTY when we're talking percentages. Your example is 18.75 times greater in seperation than mine, which means it's worthless and mine is still valid.
you really should look at what i said to ywingdriver, and take a hard look inside yourself and what you're afraid of. Independant thought isn't as troublesome as you (in your current mindset) might think it is.
This is the sad thing about you, Skillet - you are so wrapped up in the worldview - so shallowed it whole that you think that comprises 'independent thought'. It takes no thought whatsoever to just shallow what everyone else thinks hook-line-sinker. You haven't said one thing here not ONE that I haven't read or seen before - NOT ONE. That is not independent thought... that's just being another mindless lemming doomed to fall off the cliff. The real sad part of that ...
it's not my job to tell you ground-breaking revelations you've never heard before. it's not my job to do anything, but as a former "person of faith" myself, i realized at age 8 what you still haven't gotten a hold of- religion is a money-making, power-hording monopoly. The only difference between a pharmaceutical company and religion is that religion wants your peace of mind, and in the process takes your ability to think for yourself.
And Meanwhile back to the skillet go-to loop. WHEN skillet is challenged to actually think, he MUST go back to accusing others of knowing as much has he does. It is a sad attempt indeed and once again - he only succeeds in fooling himself that it was an actual response.
LOL! EIGHT!!! LOL! Wow - and your formal operational skills are really functioning at that point. LOL!
okay then, if you want me to show you i'm capable of thought, you should take a look at my stance on organized religion. I challenged it, and you swallowed it up like it were fact. And yes, ate age 8 I did realize religion is nonsense, because I knew no man could live inside a whale, no arc could house all of the animals, and if god loved me so much, why did he make me hate my own thoughts and feelings? I bet you still can't grasp that last question.
Reality is your 'independent thought' is just swallowing hook line and sinker the garbage you've read and heard others say. NOTHING you have written here is original nada. Not a thing... independent thought - is well, independent - not reliant on others.
In addition, a little study in biology would point out that - while not real fun - one could actually be swallowed by a whale - especially if it were as most whales are plankton feeder. Remember they are BIG...
And who are you to say whether at some point in history that a man could of gathered a selection of animals and put them on a boat? Remember that account is not only of Jewish origins but also is repeated in other cultures as well... what the world was like we have some idea but no HARD facts.
Those of us in science understand the difference between knowing something and speculating. Really is what defines a scientist from a non-scientist
Lastly, Skillet, look God calls us to lots of feelings we don't particularly like - like forgiving people we want to hate, or sharing when we don't want too, or loving others - all others when they have hurt us - just to name a few. I don't really like being called to account when I've been petty, mean or bitter... but I'm also called to something better than what I presently am.
This is the only cool thing - not only will God forgive me for failing to be perfect...
but he also will give us the spirit to do what is contrary to what our selfish nature wants to do. The last part is what is great about being a Christian - NOT that I am called to something better but that He gives me the means to achieve it.
So, I don't know what you are struggling with, but I sure understand feeling one way and being called to another and I know better way.
Look, it's a great deal like our children. We have kids and we make them do a bunch of things they don't want....
to do like brush their teeth, not bite their siblings, not pick their nose - not run out in the street. They don't like it - so as parents we choose not what they want but what is best.
God wants the best for our lives and so calls us from selfish indulgence to a better life. Sometimes we don't like giving up our 'right' to unforgiveness, for example - but he's not interested in what makes you feel good at the moment - but what's best for you for a lifetime.
I'm not disagreeing with your other statements, but whether it's the government or when it was my parents I HATE people who say that. Who the fuck are you, too decide what is in somebody elses best interests? I realize it's a necessity to teach children not to do certain things, but it wouldn't be right to say that that's what best for them, as your teaching them whats best in your own personal opinion, since no one can truly define what constitutes as best.
it's not what is "best" for children, it's about teaching children to question everything, to think critically, to challenege everything and draw their own conclusions. Organized religion simply doesn't allow critical thinking or challenging any of their stubborn and unjustifiable rules. But if i were a betting man, I'd keep my kids away from any organization that has child rape in its history... or present, for that matter.
"it's not what is "best" for children, it's about teaching children to question everything, to think critically, to challenege everything and draw their own conclusions."
That's true. But whenever anyone says its whats best, I always find myself saying: "in who's definition?" even when I agree with there statements.
first, the banana plant- yes, we are related to it, and everything else in the world for that matter, further making the case for macro-evolution. Second- what would you do if you had the ability to influence the next generation of leaders? Personally, I'd put emphasis on the world we can see, joining everyone in peace because we're all humans, and we all need to live on the planet, so why not make th world a great place to live? Christianity wants to speed up armegeddon and seperate people.
maybe it seems we are related to a banana plant and everything else because we are all from the same creator.Christians dont want to seperate, they want to unite. That's why they have missionaries spreading the gospel to non-believers. did u also know that human beings and dirt are made of identical elements. God made us from the ground, he made us from the Earth. the earth is not a millions of years old, they dated a new rock that was formed from a volcano and it dated to millions of years old.
that would leave us as worthless and meaningless as a plant in that case. But we're not. we have reason and understanding. so what if this revolution thing is true. then why are we the only species who can build cities and talk and etc.. why cant dogs talk? or is it because God said that he gave Adam dominion over all the plants and animals?
What are you talking about little rocks or soil? It's possible that are bodies are made up of the same elements as soil but that's not necessarily true. And were not made up of the same elements as small minerals.
"then why are we the only species who can build cities and talk and etc"
We might not be the only ones. We know that monkeys are getting smarter by generation, and some species of monkey's already have memory equal or surpassing human memory.
yes, they are, we are training them. like i said we can train them bcuz we have dominion over them. God did give them animals intelligence to anyways. they don't have reason and understanding though. if your dog did something bad, they don't know they did. They aren't afraid of God and his law, all they know is that they're master is gonna punish them in someway.
Oh is it 6000? regardless of every fossil and geological formation? And the earths sedimentary layers? And the fact that we can see supernovas that are millions of light years away, which couldn't possibly make sense if the universe was only 6000 years old.
why? so what if the supernovas are millions of light years away? what does that have to do w/ the age of the Earth? if evolution is what u believe in...and a huge ball of random mass really did explode and create everything..why is it that this planet is the only one with life and trees and grass and has everything that it needs to sustain life... besides where did that huge hunk of mass come from in the first place that exploded creating everything?
"what does that have to do w/ the age of the Earth?"
Not much, but it does have a lot to do with the age of the universe.
"and a huge ball of random mass really did explode and create everything"
A very ignorant statement.
"why is it that this planet is the only one with life and trees and grass"
What do you mean only planet, you mean you've seen every single one of the trillions of other planets, and concluded that there no life on a single one of them?
I luv debating but no matter what, we are gonna trump each other back and forth. all im gonna say is that I have been on your side once,i questioned. I grew up in church and then i got away. i then slipped into much anger and emptiness. Now, i am right w/God again and i will never part. i get my evidence from my faith in the Bible and God so i cant give you an exact fact that proves everything. Here's how i look at it: It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
i wanted to add that it seems like it would take more faith to believe that a singular organism would evolve to everything than God created the world. if one of the oldest humans was dated back to millions of years then why did it take them a long to time to advance in tech. why couldnt they get up to just a flashlight? heck, just when my dad was young, everyone was still gettin a tv...and if we did that plus have satelites and etc, in just the last 100 yrs, why did it take so long for them?
including some leaders in the church may not be actual Christians. After all to be Christian is to KNOW and FOLLOW Christ and not simply to get a ticket to heaven with no intention of following Him. That would be like calling yourself bill gates friend for money but not caring a thing in the world about him, i wouldn't call that a friend.
yes but wouldn't you agree that knowing God personally if you can would be best for everyone? to know a perfect parent and live in an eternal heaven and a sinless place with other's who have acknowledged their condemning sin and been forgiven of it by asking Jesus to save them, since He made the way to heaven through the only perfect sacrifice, Himself. That would certainly be best. As far as raping children, atheist do that everyday, and not everyone is Christian at church. (including some..

I really love this message. Many people are afraid to go to church because they 'dont know how to' go to church, if that makes sense...People don't know what to wear or how to act or what to say and how to say it... church has become a place that people are not comfortable in... God accepts everyone 'as is' and so should our churches.

9rumple4 2 years ago
Only some churches are like that
Manateecutie 2 years ago 2
That all depends on what church you go to, and sad to say it really is hard to tell the good from the bad unless you church hop and really get into it.
There are churches that promote gays, there are churches full of sin and say its ok, and there are churches that are even snobby, but there also are churches that people go to to worship Jesus Christ and what he did and is doing and what he is going to do.
Sure not everybody will like church, but you can't please everyone.
jagsfan2010 2 years ago
Agreed. If you're looking to please people, you're not pleasing God. Its just that the search for the right church can prove discouraging sometimes.

I have faith in my fellow man, I have faith in the human spirit, I have faith that the world will be better someday. dude, thats the whole point is the faith that God does exist and Jesus did come and die for u. Not bcuz there is scientific evidence. scientists are ppl like everyone else and they cant prove or disprove everything. God leaves room for doubt and questioning bcuz he wants u to love and believe in him w/o seeing him. he gave u free will and u can choose to serve him or not. ur not a robot designed to be forced to love some one or something.. u are granted the choice.

stevesbigblueford 2 years ago 2
Interesting spin on words I never said. I said he (as in god) "can't be proven". I never said he could be disproven. If you're done putting words in my mouth, I'd like you to stop misquoting Darwin as well. For your information, you should read "Origin of Species". In it, he allots an entire chapter to the massive loopholes in his theory. Facial.
killerskillet 2 years ago
this is why its important to know and teach the truth. If a country didn't know math, they would teach their kids bad math
bcfstudent07 3 years ago
of course that wouldn't make math right now would it?
bcfstudent07 3 years ago
thats because you havent studied islam skillet.... When he first started seeing and i quote "visions of god, or whatever" He told his wife he was having serious nightmares, (continued)
bcfstudent07 3 years ago
and his much older rich wife told him those were dreams from god, even though they were extremely scary and he had convulsions and foamed at the mouth while he was having them, not to mention he made noises like a camel in the process of this. (demon possession? highly likely) He didn't claim to be God, didn't claim to be perfect (therefore he didn't claim to know everything) not perfect means we can be wrong, Jesus claimed to be God, claimed to be perfect, etc and backed it up
bcfstudent07 3 years ago
"claimed to be perfect"
Perfect in who's definition?
"and backed it up"
How did he do that?
None of this changes the fact that skillets right. If you were born and raised in a country like Saudi Arabia, you'd think Islam is the only religion that makes sense.
linusgreen 3 years ago
You need to read my reply to that claim... I'll post it here.
"You say that if I was born in a Muslim country, I would be a Muslim. This is true, but you also forget that if Christianity is indeed, fact, then God planned that I would be his child, along with all other Christians. Therefore, since God knows all things, he would know where to put me so I would become a Christian."
In a nutshell, you are looking at this from a human's 4th-dimensional perspective, not God's.
ywingdriver 3 years ago
"but you also forget that if Christianity is indeed fact"
You can't use that as an answer. That would be like me saying that Christianity can't be right, if aliens exist. Sure it's true, but it's not a very good argument or answer.
Skillet was stating that you only believe what you believe because of where you were born, and it's true. You most likely believe in Christianity because your parents and/or the people around you believe in it.
desu35 3 years ago
That is your problem: you are looking at this all from a 4th dimensional view. If you think about it, a Christian would be a Christian because God wanted him to be, if he indeed exists.
ywingdriver 3 years ago
"a Christian would be a Christian because God wanted him to be"
That would be against free will though.
desu35 3 years ago
no, no one is forced to be a christian. no one put a gun to your head.
SOLDJAofGOD 3 years ago
Your not reading my reply. Ywing said someone would be a christian because God wanted them to be. That would be against free will. It would be like god making someone christian.
"they are forced to remain a religion which may cause it to be geographical."
Only countries under sharia law have a population forced to a religion.
desu35 3 years ago
no,God doesnt make someone Christian.
SOLDJAofGOD 3 years ago
"God doesnt make someone Christian."
I didn't say he did, Ywing said that.
desu35 3 years ago
im sorry i wasnt really meaning that towards you... i accidently put that toward you.. sorry. =[
SOLDJAofGOD 3 years ago
"and americas constitution is based on the commanments"
Not that it really matters to me what the U.S. constitution says, It still isn't based off the commandments. If it was based off the commandments, you wouldn't have things like religious freedom, and adultery would be illegal.
desu35 3 years ago
i didnt say all ten commandments. we cant steal or murder. and why is that? what makes that morally wrong? was it our founding father's opinion of what's morally right? that cant be it bcuz someone else's opinion could be different. so who said stealing was wrong? God did. if not...then anyone can argue that the law against murder is unfair. the rest of the commandments, thats left up to free will. as long as it wasnt hurting another human, the founders of the const left that to God's punishment
SOLDJAofGOD 3 years ago
"we cant steal or murder."
Those have been laws in ancient cultures long before the bible's existence, so you certainly couldn't say they were based off the commandments.
desu35 3 years ago
I still could. God has been here long before anything. Those are his standards. He has been here before the Bible was written. and the not all the parts of the Bible wasnt written at the exact same time. His law was still existing even though the ten commandments werent actually written out. but still you cant say those laws were coming from human morality? because there is no definite morals considering all the other opinions out there except God's and his is all fair.
SOLDJAofGOD 3 years ago
"God's and his is all fair."
I don't think adultery should be a crime punishable by death like in the bible. Also how could it be all fair when it criticizes gay people?
desu35 3 years ago
like i said bcuz it is against God's law.
SOLDJAofGOD 3 years ago
"God created the law and to him every sin is equal."
That would make no sense and be incredibly unfair. It would be like the government passing a law that makes it so a person who didn't pay their parking tickets, get the same punishment as a mass murder. All crimes aren't equal. And the one thing I have to say to someone (not necessarily you) who considers homosexuality as bad as rape,is go fucking kill yourself. Whether your a god or person.

dude...thats why a christian's mission is to spread the word of God not hold it in and just teach it to ur family and no one else. but if u notice, there is no morality. there is no true law if u dont have God. also no offense but i wouldn't base my eternity on yahoo answers. There is no proof for macro-evolution, just theories. Good science is observable, testable, etc, anything else i wouldn't call science. Its a shame as people we think we know more that God. Romans 1:22 states, claiming to be wise people became fools, because they exchanged the immortal God for images resembling animals and mortal man. the facts of the bible? which bible, exactly? the first one, which doesn't exist anymore, or the greek translation of said book? Or maybe the german translation, but my guess is the English translation, which is to say that it's been handled by at least 4 other people and manipulated and twisted into words you can understand. For example, the word associated with Mary is virgin, but there's a word in greek that could mean virgin or "young" so nobody really knows anything about the mother of god.
killerskillet 3 years ago
actually, you are mistaken. The word that means virgin, or young maid is the word "almah" (it's hebrew). there is only one word for virgin in greek, it is parthenos (it translates solely to virgin). Almah was used in the book of isaiah foreshadowing what was to come. Matthew used the greek word when he spoke of the virginity when he was accounting of the virgin birth. it translates only virgin.
greenaura888 3 years ago
mathhew, the alleged man who lived a millenium ago, used the greek word even though he spoke aramaic. oh, and the word actually used in Hebrew scriptures is "almah" (="young woman").
The Hebrew word which could have been used, BUT WASN'T, was "bethulah" (="virgin"). So my bad, I guess I meant to say "there's a word in Hebrew... etc."
killerskillet 3 years ago
thats what I said, it is almah (that is the one that was used, and it has double meaning).... Liberal schoalrs try to account for the latter hebrew you tried to use. furthermore "young maid" used back then is not the same as today. "young maid does not mean "not virgin".... it was used to describe a dame in waiting.
greenaura888 3 years ago
almah means a young woman in hebrew. The bible was first written in hebrew, then mistranslated to greek for the word that only means virgin in greek. Scholars the world over have agreed upon the original hebrew word meaning young woman, and bibles such as the Revised Standard Version have the word "virgin" properly translated back into "young woman". If you care to bring up the dead sea scrolls, why not mention the newly found book of Judas?
killerskillet 3 years ago
I see you're back here. You still haven't written me back. Was my proof that good?
Anyway, the Book of Judas is fake. The Dead Sea Scrolls are scientifically and historically correct. If you care to look on the internet to verify my claim, feel free.
As for Mary, as I guess you are speaking of, she was a virgin. Why else would she say to the Angel Gabriel "But I am a virgin." You are saying that she would say "But I am a young woman." That is no reason to not believe.
ywingdriver 3 years ago
i haven't written you back because when you say something is entirely concrete and incapable of ever being disproven, you are delusional. You look at the dynamic world around you, and are afraid of how unstable it is, so you grasped on to a story. Saying something as arrogant as "THE BIBLE IS TRUE" makes a rational person like me step back and mention that apparently it is the only thing EVER that won't be disproven... which is irrational to the nth degree.
killerskillet 3 years ago
Um, I wrote you so much proof in that letter, and you can't disprove it. I wrote you so much disproof against evolution in that letter, and you can't disprove that. All you can say is that I'm wrong. HELLO? Show me one intelligent reason the Bible isn't real and evolution is, please. I think I won if you can't even give an intelligent reason to believe in what you believe in.
ywingdriver 3 years ago
dude, how many times do i need to tell you this? the burdon of proof lies on the person who makes the claim. "The bible is real" is a claim that was made thousands of years before the concept of evolution, so it's on you to prove to yourself it is real, not me. And as far as proving evolution is concerned, it's a theory, not a law. There are very few scientific laws out there, gravity being one of them. You're asking for the impossible twice over.
killerskillet 3 years ago
"the burdon of proof lies on the person who makes the claim."
I gave you the proof in that letter. It was obviously so good that you didn't even respond. I relieved the "burdon of proof"
I never just say, "The bible is real." Then my IQ WOULD be low. I always say "The bible is real because..."
Now tell me something other than "evolution is real." Give me proof, as you never have.
ywingdriver 3 years ago
citing examples of natural landmarks like rivers and mountains proves nothing. You arent
killerskillet 3 years ago
There is another intelligent, "ever-evolving" theory ins science I support, skillet, and it's called Intelligent Design. Unlike evolution, it hasn't been disproved, and it is NOT creationism. Intelligent Design is a theory that simply states that "The world was created by a form of intelligence of some sort." It is not in any way related to religion, by the way. It is not biased towards any religion, either. There's your "ever-evolving" science.
Anyway, give me proof, not claims, like desu35.
ywingdriver 3 years ago
It's great that you're willing to admit you know everything. Now burry your head in the sand a little deeper, I hear science is coming up with some new facts this year. Let me ask you, are you religious because your parents are religious, or is it because you sought every answer in an easy-to-swallow capsule as an adult? Either way, belief in god is the claim of a desperate man with no answers and no argument.
killerskillet 3 years ago
"I gave you the proof in that letter."
Are you still sending that letter around? You haven't shown me one claim that disproves evolution, or even one claim that wasn't false.
"Give me proof, as you never have."
I did.
desu35 3 years ago
Um, what are you doing here?
Don't worry, I am replying to your message, desu35. You are probably the best person at defending evolution I've met, and I'm glad you came here, as it is here I am dealing with killerskillet, who needs a little help (and proof.)
Don't worry, the letter is coming.
ywingdriver 3 years ago
I was just watching the video. Saw you posted.
desu35 3 years ago
oh right, and if you're still denying there is proof of evolution- DNA.
killerskillet 3 years ago
Um, DNA is a thing, not proof. You might want to say WHAT proof DNA brings.
ywingdriver 3 years ago
"DNA is a thing, not proof." - right, because THINGS can't be proof. I remember when I saw that murder trial when they threw the murder weapon away. Another thing, when you start every response with "UMM..." it comes off as condescending and rude, like you feel you have the right to talk down to anyone. Here's the proof inside DNA- humans are 98.4% similar to apes. Wow, 130 letters left to use after making my point and calling you out on being rude, that's economical of me.
killerskillet 3 years ago
Hey, did you know that: "Humans and bananas share 70% DNA" - from Yahoo Answers?
Anyway, apes sharing human DNA can hardly be very much proof... unless you think that we descended from bananas, too.
I'm sorry if I'm sounding rude. That is not my intent. I have just been getting frustrated at the fact of you having no evidence and you acting like you know more than me. But I am sorry for acting rude.
Anyway, top that.
PS: I'm left with a less efficient 22, but it will do.

"unless you think that we descended from bananas, too."
Not directly no, but we are related to bananas.
Sorry for getting in the way of your argument again.
desu35 3 years ago
You're talking in circles again. It isn't my job to PROVE evolution, it's science's. You have to do your own critical thinking and decide if you favor the blind faith that comes with religion, or the incomplete log of science that gets fuller and more complete DAILY. And yahoo answers, wow, very credible. Also, 1.6 is a much smaller margin than THIRTY when we're talking percentages. Your example is 18.75 times greater in seperation than mine, which means it's worthless and mine is still valid.
killerskillet 3 years ago
"which means it's worthless and mine is still valid."
True, but we are most likely related to the banana plant, we just didn't descend from them.
desu35 3 years ago
Skillet, is this what you have devolved too? Quibbling about words - sad indeed. Time to state ywing is the winner and let this travesty end.
Brambleclaws 3 years ago
you really should look at what i said to ywingdriver, and take a hard look inside yourself and what you're afraid of. Independant thought isn't as troublesome as you (in your current mindset) might think it is.
killerskillet 3 years ago
This is the sad thing about you, Skillet - you are so wrapped up in the worldview - so shallowed it whole that you think that comprises 'independent thought'. It takes no thought whatsoever to just shallow what everyone else thinks hook-line-sinker. You haven't said one thing here not ONE that I haven't read or seen before - NOT ONE. That is not independent thought... that's just being another mindless lemming doomed to fall off the cliff. The real sad part of that ...
Brambleclaws 3 years ago
it's not my job to tell you ground-breaking revelations you've never heard before. it's not my job to do anything, but as a former "person of faith" myself, i realized at age 8 what you still haven't gotten a hold of- religion is a money-making, power-hording monopoly. The only difference between a pharmaceutical company and religion is that religion wants your peace of mind, and in the process takes your ability to think for yourself.
killerskillet 3 years ago
And Meanwhile back to the skillet go-to loop. WHEN skillet is challenged to actually think, he MUST go back to accusing others of knowing as much has he does. It is a sad attempt indeed and once again - he only succeeds in fooling himself that it was an actual response.
LOL! EIGHT!!! LOL! Wow - and your formal operational skills are really functioning at that point. LOL!
Brambleclaws 3 years ago
okay then, if you want me to show you i'm capable of thought, you should take a look at my stance on organized religion. I challenged it, and you swallowed it up like it were fact. And yes, ate age 8 I did realize religion is nonsense, because I knew no man could live inside a whale, no arc could house all of the animals, and if god loved me so much, why did he make me hate my own thoughts and feelings? I bet you still can't grasp that last question.
killerskillet 3 years ago
Skillet:
Reality is your 'independent thought' is just swallowing hook line and sinker the garbage you've read and heard others say. NOTHING you have written here is original nada. Not a thing... independent thought - is well, independent - not reliant on others.
In addition, a little study in biology would point out that - while not real fun - one could actually be swallowed by a whale - especially if it were as most whales are plankton feeder. Remember they are BIG...
Brambleclaws 3 years ago
And who are you to say whether at some point in history that a man could of gathered a selection of animals and put them on a boat? Remember that account is not only of Jewish origins but also is repeated in other cultures as well... what the world was like we have some idea but no HARD facts.
Those of us in science understand the difference between knowing something and speculating. Really is what defines a scientist from a non-scientist
Brambleclaws 3 years ago
Lastly, Skillet, look God calls us to lots of feelings we don't particularly like - like forgiving people we want to hate, or sharing when we don't want too, or loving others - all others when they have hurt us - just to name a few. I don't really like being called to account when I've been petty, mean or bitter... but I'm also called to something better than what I presently am.
This is the only cool thing - not only will God forgive me for failing to be perfect...
Brambleclaws 3 years ago
but he also will give us the spirit to do what is contrary to what our selfish nature wants to do.
Brambleclaws 3 years ago
to do like brush their teeth, not bite their siblings, not pick their nose - not run out in the street.
Brambleclaws 3 years ago
"but what is best."
I'm not disagreeing with your other statements, but whether it's the government or when it was my parents I HATE people who say that. Who the fuck are you, too decide what is in somebody elses best interests? I realize it's a necessity to teach children not to do certain things, but it wouldn't be right to say that that's what best for them, as your teaching them whats best in your own personal opinion, since no one can truly define what constitutes as best.
desu35 3 years ago
it's not what is "best" for children, it's about teaching children to question everything, to think critically, to challenege everything and draw their own conclusions. Organized religion simply doesn't allow critical thinking or challenging any of their stubborn and unjustifiable rules. But if i were a betting man, I'd keep my kids away from any organization that has child rape in its history... or present, for that matter.
killerskillet 3 years ago
"it's not what is "best" for children, it's about teaching children to question everything, to think critically, to challenege everything and draw their own conclusions."
That's true. But whenever anyone says its whats best, I always find myself saying: "in who's definition?" even when I agree with there statements.
desu35 3 years ago
first, the banana plant- yes, we are related to it, and everything else in the world for that matter, further making the case for macro-evolution. Second- what would you do if you had the ability to influence the next generation of leaders? Personally, I'd put emphasis on the world we can see, joining everyone in peace because we're all humans, and we all need to live on the planet, so why not make th world a great place to live? Christianity wants to speed up armegeddon and seperate people.
killerskillet 3 years ago
maybe it seems we are related to a banana plant and everything else because we are all from the same creator.Christians dont want to seperate, they want to unite. That's why they have missionaries spreading the gospel to non-believers. did u also know that human beings and dirt are made of identical elements. God made us from the ground, he made us from the Earth. the earth is not a millions of years old, they dated a new rock that was formed from a volcano and it dated to millions of years old.
SOLDJAofGOD 3 years ago
"and everything else because we are all from the same creator."
You could say that, but then I could say, maybe it's because we actually are related to the banana plant. Now where does that leave us?
"did u also know that human beings and dirt are made of identical elements."
No, actually there not.
desu35 3 years ago
our flesh is made of the same elements.
actually, it is.
that would leave us as worthless and meaningless as a plant in that case. But we're not. we have reason and understanding. so what if this revolution thing is true. then why are we the only species who can build cities and talk and etc.. why cant dogs talk? or is it because God said that he gave Adam dominion over all the plants and animals?
SOLDJAofGOD 3 years ago
"our flesh is made of the same elements.
actually, it is."
What are you talking about little rocks or soil? It's possible that are bodies are made up of the same elements as soil but that's not necessarily true. And were not made up of the same elements as small minerals.
desu35 3 years ago
"then why are we the only species who can build cities and talk and etc"
We might not be the only ones. We know that monkeys are getting smarter by generation, and some species of monkey's already have memory equal or surpassing human memory.
desu35 3 years ago
yes, they are, we are training them. like i said we can train them bcuz we have dominion over them. God did give them animals intelligence to anyways. they don't have reason and understanding though. if your dog did something bad, they don't know they did. They aren't afraid of God and his law, all they know is that they're master is gonna punish them in someway.
SOLDJAofGOD 3 years ago
"we are training them."
Genetically there getting smarter.
"they don't have reason and understanding though."
If they evolved to are intelligence, they would.

"the earth is not a millions of years old"
Oh is it 6000? regardless of every fossil and geological formation? And the earths sedimentary layers? And the fact that we can see supernovas that are millions of light years away, which couldn't possibly make sense if the universe was only 6000 years old.
desu35 3 years ago
why? so what if the supernovas are millions of light years away? what does that have to do w/ the age of the Earth? if evolution is what u believe in...and a huge ball of random mass really did explode and create everything..why is it that this planet is the only one with life and trees and grass and has everything that it needs to sustain life... besides where did that huge hunk of mass come from in the first place that exploded creating everything?
SOLDJAofGOD 3 years ago
"what does that have to do w/ the age of the Earth?"
Not much, but it does have a lot to do with the age of the universe.
"and a huge ball of random mass really did explode and create everything"
A very ignorant statement.
"why is it that this planet is the only one with life and trees and grass"
What do you mean only planet, you mean you've seen every single one of the trillions of other planets, and concluded that there no life on a single one of them?
desu35 3 years ago
I luv debating but no matter what, we are gonna trump each other back and forth. all im gonna say is that I have been on your side once,i questioned. I grew up in church and then i got away. i then slipped into much anger and emptiness. Now, i am right w/God again and i will never part. i get my evidence from my faith in the Bible and God so i cant give you an exact fact that proves everything. Here's how i look at it: It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
SOLDJAofGOD 3 years ago
i wanted to add that it seems like it would take more faith to believe that a singular organism would evolve to everything than God created the world. if one of the oldest humans was dated back to millions of years then why did it take them a long to time to advance in tech. why couldnt they get up to just a flashlight? heck, just when my dad was young, everyone was still gettin a tv...and if we did that plus have satelites and etc, in just the last 100 yrs, why did it take so long for them?
SOLDJAofGOD 3 years ago
including some leaders in the church may not be actual Christians. After all to be Christian is to KNOW and FOLLOW Christ and not simply to get a ticket to heaven with no intention of following Him. That would be like calling yourself bill gates friend for money but not caring a thing in the world about him, i wouldn't call that a friend.
bcfstudent07 3 years ago
yes but wouldn't you agree that knowing God personally if you can would be best for everyone? to know a perfect parent and live in an eternal heaven and a sinless place with other's who have acknowledged their condemning sin and been forgiven of it by asking Jesus to save them, since He made the way to heaven through the only perfect sacrifice, Himself. That would certainly be best. As far as raping children, atheist do that everyday, and not everyone is Christian at church. (including some..
