  • Did Thomas Newman compose this

  • Beautiful Maladies by far one of his best compilations

  • Swordfishtrombones is definitely Tom Waits' masterpiece

  • This is Amazing

  • "...and I wondered how the same moon outside, over this Chinatown fair, could look down on Illinois and find you there..."

How does the guy do it?

  • @jeanmariefagon because he is the greatest American songwriter of the second half of the 20th century. If it wasn't for George Gershwin, it would have been the whole century.

  • @COYOTEJAW1980 this is a good commet, i know what you mean but i never thought to think it

  • my favourite track on the album - i still have it on 2nd hand vinyl, £2.99 from Beano's record store in croydon, suitably dog eared but unscratched (ha ha ) , bought in maybe, 91/92....

  • I would kill to have this album on vinyl. And yes Shore Leave is my favorite as well. The Big Time version is equally as magnificent.

  • @BenWright91 i have the big time album and no "shore leave" on it. how come?

  • @BenWright91 One of my first pickups when I started collecting. Swordfishtrombones and Rain Dogs are must haves in my opinion.
