Ok well I have never liked startrek at all I thought nothing could beat stargate for me and i watched all of stargate from sg1 to sgu all the episode's and One night i thought I'll rent

Serenity so I did i sat and watched it i thought it was ok then i watched firefly dam blew stargate out of the water for me and made a mockery of startrek and yet thay only made one season 1!!! fox should be ashamed of them selfs leting crap air and canceling stuff like firefly dam.

i´ve watched the complete Firefly on DVD and still can´t understand why the show was canceled. each episode is brilliant: the story, the settings, the camera, the characters, the acting, the realism, the whole idea...

it had the potential to become a new, more earthly & realistic Star Trek

it is just sad... but at least they could still make the movie

@harpiyon It was cancelled because it had very poor ratings, i.e. not enough people were watching and Fox were losing money. The TV business has little to do with show quality; if a show was absolutely awful but was raking in the viewers then it would go on for years.

the reason why is that Transformers and other movies like them put out alot of hype and commercials while the good shows and movies like serenity have to go by word of mouth. I GUARANTEE you that if Serenity had the funds for commercial spots and putting out hype than it would have SMACKED Transformers in the face and out of the box office.

It is my biggest fantasy to live in a Sci-Fi world just like the one in Firefly/Serenity. Sadly I know that that fantasy will never be fullfilled because that time will not come in my lifetime. I thought, "If only I could live forever"

But then I thought more and realized... video games.. at one point they will fully emerge a person into a world, like the Matrix, and it can indeed happen in my lifetime. Plus the world will be less harsh, more fun. So I am not sad.
