I went to a CB&TM concert in the 60's in Wash DC. They had over sold the show so to seat the over flow they put chairs on the stage next to the performers. What a show 6 feet from the boys. I do miss them.
Bob Dylan used the melody of this song for his "Rambling Gambling Willy," recorded in 1961 but not released until 1991; it is on his Bootleg collection.
@rambam1204 Yes . . . Liam was one of Bob Dylan's favorite singers . . . . and one of mine as well . . . just a pure, perfect voice . . . not many can sing with such power and passion . . . without vibrato!! A true master!
You are correct rambam...Dylan originally wrote Willy using this song as a model. The original had 27 verses til he ran into Liam and Tommy one dayin the Village and between the 3 of them they whittled it down to about 6 verses.
Makes me proud to have Tipperary blood!

Bob Dylan must have used the melody of this song for "Rambling Gambling Willy" on his Bootleg Series.
