La imagen de Purley al final, golpe bajo, pero nos hace pensar un poco, la F1 actual no es tan emocionante y dramatica, pero por lo menos se mueren menos.
F1 lacks that sense of danger it used to have. Don't get me wrong, I don't wanna see people dying every race, but it used to be men pushing the absolute limit. Slickest tyres, 1000+bhp, turbo's.....all with shitty aerodynamics and no traction control.
The glory days have departed alas.....hail to the brave drivers in the 70/80's!
good video, although think there's a bit too much of Gilles, even though he was supreme talent. Also its 70's & 80's I stand to be corrected but 6|:24 is Mclaren MP4/6 from 1992.
Also.. I have to add...none of the PC Brigade ideas around sponshorship....JPS, Marlboro...even Durex....lol....now we have Banks and energy drinks....Although Parmalat is a Ham from Belgium(or there abouts) apparently and i proudly supported Lauda during that era.....lol
When drivers were drivers....without all the hype....just pure talent....I went to the British GP....'76/'78'79'85'90 & '91.....awesome memories and legendary drivers....all down to skill...none of this traction control....or paddle gear shift....All time legend for me...Lauda....amazing..
They were also 12307123 times more dangerous. The engines could explode, and the Turbo's made the cars too powerful for the tracks. But if the drivers safety isn't an issue yes it was more exciting.
Excellent video and great music. I love G&R. I must, however, respectfully disagree about the good old days. I think now is as exciting and competative a time as ever was in F1. The best days are now and ahead!
If anyone is interested about buying f1 dvds from me, then reply by clicking on my name. Then 'send message'. I sell basically every grand prix race from 1978 to 2008. Also, lots of unseen 1960's/70s world feed races that were never seen in the UK and many other countries. For example, I have the 1975 Nurburgring (German) grand prix and many others that were never seen on British tv, before 1978. 1978 is on 17 dvds, so you can understand what range of footage I have.
eu adorava ver o duelo do ayrton senna e alan prostte...agora não tem mas graça com toda essa parafernalha eletronica.antigamente vencia a corrida no braço!!!!

Nice. This is 90% 70s, 9% 80's and... 1% 90s (Senna's McLaren in 1991) I think?
DogonDance 2 years ago
think so too. maybe its because in the 70s f1 was 90% better then today.... for racing sadly not for safety
