I loved this show, along with a number of others that can't be found on Adult Swim & the rest of CN anymore. Too bad they're steadily giving up quality for mediocre dreck & outright crap.....
@montecarlomayne Thanks. [ adult swim ] has the " Brit Block " on Fridays, & most of the time, it's marginally entertaining at best. CN / [ as ], along with the " SyFy " channel are losing most of their entertainment " bang ".
true. Since Toonami went out of commission CN's daytimes have really really started to suck. Toonami was sick and struggling in the last few years. I miss seeing Cyborg 009, and the Gundam shows. Along with anime movies. Then Adult Swim cut Samurai Champloo and Inuyasha. I understand that they're over but they could at least do re-runs. Even though Inuyasha is somewhat cliche it's better than this bullshit they throw at us now. They should re-run all the good anime and cut this lame crap out.
I completely agree. I liked Samurai Champloo, Lupin the IIIrd, Cowboy Bebop, Big O, some episodes of Inuyasha. They had some anime that had no plot at all ( Paranoia Agent ). GitS either had a lot of action every 5 seconds, or else they had a deep, philosophical discussion about Salinger. Other than that, GitS was pretty good.
Their " Brit Block " is a lot of nonsense, & has no place in an animation block.
But if they ARE going to show " live - action " British shows on a block, then I'd recommend " Red Dwarf " for [as], aside from the locker - room humor, it's pretty funny & w / make a great Brit - com.
@knoxvilleguy2 YES! Red Dwarf is one of my favorite british TV shows, every few years i go "hmm i should start watching Red Dwarf again" then run through every season, such a great show. Its a shame the BBC is so uptight about show licensing. Honestly, even if [AS] wanted to get it, i dont think the BBC would give it to them.
If they're so intent on showing live - action programs, then RD would be just about perfect. I had no idea that the BBC was so stingey with distributing their programs in the U.S.
@knoxvilleguy2 yeah The BBC is bad, even their own BBC america channel is almost a full season behind with immensely popular shows like Top Gear. I havent even turned on BBCA in a long time, they might be a caught up by now but it seemed to me they were more intent on running re-runs of past seasons then airing new eps.
How in Hades did their live action comedy programs get on [AS] ? Okay, that was a rhetorical question more or less. They're reasonably humorous but they're LIVE ACTION !! CN & [AS] are getting lazy.
And, the original British version of " The Office " has funny moments, but live - action programs on [as] don't really make sense. They showed re - runs of " Saved By The Bell " 2 - 3 years ago, & I thought " WTH ? ".
It just came to me why adult swim used to show awesome things like Lupin. They were working their buts off to compete with Toonami. A moment of silence for Tom and the Absolution as their fall has signaled a decline in every aspect of Cartoon Network.
@TheLordmep I haven't heard someone tribute Toonami in a long time. Toonami was my childhood. Everyday, after school, from 4 - 6, I'd hear Tom's tranquil but confident voice narrate the best shows ever to hit cartoonetwork. I think A month of Miyazaki was my favorite Era.
huh? The only thing AS had was about 60 episodes of the red jacket series. The trailer that you see here and in my channel I created. Funimation dubbed most of the movies along with geneon.
well If you're talking about the movies they made 2 boxsets of them.....but dont include the last 2 films.. sa for the anime episode....cant find the either....did you try on ebay? or amazon maybe...
This was a great trailer though I do have one question. What is the music that plays throughout this trailer? I really like it, I think it fits Lupin pretty well, but I don't recognize the song or anything.
Nicely done! ^__^ It definitely has the Adult Swim-my feel. Thanks for using Tokyo Crisis! XD Way to introduce Lupin to a new generation! ^^ ;_; If only your vision went official..: (
See I'm confused, most of the famous Lupin III stuff I see is the cheaply animated 70s wacky-cartoony anime, yet adult swims seemed different somehow. Are these modern episodes? Were they more serious and cowboy bebop-esque? What year were they made?
I wouldn't say cheaply animated.I like the animation. You just have to get use to it. What you see in my trailer is from the movies. There are a ton of them. The animation ranges from 1970 to now. A Lupin movie special is produced every year. Some movies have a serious tone to them while others are a mix of comedy fan service and action, but that's what you get with Lupin. The movies are really good by the way :)
No i don't think so. It's a darn shame. I wish that funimation would dubbed some more movies and that someone would pick up the green jacket series and also finish the red jacket series. This show is to good for the movies and the rest of the series not to be released here in the u.s.
