  • your bettas are beautiful!

  • this is not abnormal. peaceful is catching for any creature. including 'fighting' types. :D

  • i dont reccommend this because afterwards like later on they might start fighting

  • see how shes thrashing around and wiggling? she wants him to build a nest and tap it, my female always does that same kinda dance when shes ready to humpidy hump hump

  • mine only alwos the female around when breading, never left her in after they done getting down, but if I just put her in he will try n kill her, I have to have her in a breeder for 2 or 3 days

  • they usually don't get along if the female is a darker or much brighter color than the male, if the male is darker and brigther than the female they get along just fine, at least that's how it has worked for my bettas xD

  • @creamRocks1 they don't always kill the female beta i used to keep a male and female in my tank all the time, and the male never tried to kill the female, they were always buddy buddy, and i think i heard that a male and female beta wont have any troubles 2/3 of the time.

  • This is NOT a typical response! Could the poster of this video please put up a warning on this video??? Most of the time, the male WILL kill the female! Don't risk your fish!

  • people who kept saying female and male betta shouldnt be together is dumb. I put mine both together, they love it, they swim together. the male kept following her around like they're brothers and sister. I said that because the female is young and the male is kind of old. They flared at first when they met each other but when i put my male in the breeding tank alone, he jumped out of it to be free and after that he never flares at her. Thats how you train your male betta to be peaceful.

  • ur male was beautiful

  • Betta not Beta:))

  • Hello! Beautiful tank. I tried yesterday putting my female in with my male and they both love it! they are getting alone great!! May i ask how many gallons your bowl is? Mine is 1 gallon. Im only having it like this for about a month then the female is going in the 20 gallon tank im getting for Christmas.

And also since you have 2 fish together...Do you clean the bowl twice a week for the extra fishes waste?

  • What I find funny, is people would say "ohh this is bad and will kill your fish" except... he looked right at her and could care less. Surprised they hadn't even tried spawning xD

  • how did you get them to do that? Did you use a sup. at first?

  • You are so lucky. I tried this with my female and she killed my male. Tore him up so bad that he just hung at the bottom of his new tank and died. I tried everything to bring him around but to no luck. But I'm sorry that Your bettas died. Its not every day you see such peace between a male and female betta.

  • 1- good job putting lots plantsn decos in there so shecan hide if neeeded 2-normally you cant get away with this but all fish have personalitys to some extent and some are differant then most, like i had 2 plecos were meanest ruthless killers ever seen killed everything in path, when most plecos great community fish get along with everything! so fish are like box o chocalates you never know what your going to get lol

  • was Walt Disney Frozen after death?

  • @Greenhornet270 odd question...

  • My female Betta Rihanna I think killed my male betta Bruno and is now after I Skill You what do I do? Rihanna was after his fins and he looks shaved now

  • @TorontoMapleL3afs When a female goes after your male, you SEPARATE them, and don't put her with any more males. Sometimes females are just naturally really aggressive and can't be put with other bettas, males or females.

  • aww cute, i have a male and a female, but the male lives in his own tank (not one of those horrid boxes) and the female lives with my neons, shes never shown any kind of aggression

  • @sxybabykitten gosh, that is pretty good to have them for 2 years :)

  • you are going to have babies

  • my male beta and female beta don't like each other. they are always anger and fight if I put them together. the fins of male beta has been broken by female beta.

  • e-mail my youtube account if the male ate the female.... :)

  • they wont bother each other if there is enough hiding places like as u can see in the vid

  • Hey they look great together but mine they are just like the male is running after the female and she's totally ignoring him i wish he wouldn't kill her after all coz i would if i was him -_- any solution?

  • Did they ever breed? Great too see them in a large tank!

  • SOOOO WEIRD! I have 2 male bettas put together..no prob at all....

  • @ParalizedWithTaco you probably have a really cold house, if you bump up the temperature to 80 they'll fight. :O

  • I had 4 goldfish and one of them darted around just the same way your orange fish does. I'll never forget that goldfish of mine, now I only have one(which has lasted 8 years). Your multicoloured fish is beautiful.

  • This would be very stressful for them. I did this, and the male got fin rot from stress.

  • @dajoeng no. my male betta and female bettas get along greatly. Its no stress for them. They're at peace. =]

  • beautifull Alvin :P. Btw my name is Alvin :D

  • she loooked a bit stressy. He was obviously fairly calm and although she didnt have stress stripes she wasnt exactly calm. Lucky for u he didnt kill her. His tail was quite bitten though. There is a lot of stuff in the tank which was a good thing for her so she could get away from him. I had a male and female live together for a few days .. that was a bad thing as i was trying to breed them. I thought he will like a big pink girl ..

  • but guess what .. he 'turned' one day and hated all the other bettas around him. (no he didnt live with others but there were other tanks near him and he was in a divided tank) ...

That is the other problem with having bettas in divided tanks .. they share water and therefore disease! .. I had many bettas and most that died showed no signs of illness. So i think they both died from some illness or other that you couldnt see.

  • @sammyblot Lol!

  • they say when you put 2 betta fishes together, male & female, they will get mad once but somehow, will learn to accept each other... so when one dies, the other one will die too...

  • BEAUTIFUL FISH ! :)

  • nice setup

  • great decorum u got there

  • 2 years together and they didn't mate?

  • can you tell what kind of betta your male betta is?

  • i put the femal in my males big tank and the started to figth so i toke her out

  • wow mostly when u put beta fish together they will fight but cool....

  • get a filter and a heater? what size is that tank?

  • Get a heater, I do.

  • Is there a way to somehow figure out if your betta will get along in the same tank? Setting containers next to each other for a few days or anything?

  • whoa .. he is so pretty xD

  • don't know why kiwibrittie got a thumbsdown, they do live in little water in their habitats. No fish however, will die of too much water, its like saying humans will die if our houses are too big.

  • wats wrong with u of course the male is the blue one _?how can ppl ask that

  • which is the male?

  • so cute

  • I've had my beta for three years in a big tank and he's just fine. I think the problem might be that it's harder to keep the temp up in a larger tank than a smaller tank.

  • She is such the lady of the house. Just all over the place. And like

every good man should , he seems to let her do anything she wants

  • this is really realy rare, this guy had the samething happen to him, my bettas, ha!

laura would try to be sassy and end up killin the male

baby would be so stressed out that there is another betta that i would be forced to take her/him out

pearl- hhmmm well im not sure, she might get along...

  • well actually they will fight each other for a couple days until one becomes the alpha fish

  • aww a happy couple :)

  • How do u make them live together at peace? I tried doing this and my male attacks my female and my female gets really scared and runs and hides and she breath heavy I tried getting them ready but it did not work he still attacks her ="(

  • it just depends on their tempers. if you get a mean male and a nice female or vice versa, the mean one kills the other. but these are probably laid back fish, and that equals less fights

  • well if you really want them to live in peace put the female in a glass jar and put the jar in the tank, leave it like that for about a half hour, then try. :D

  • i did that for a week and he still attacks her. also i put the tanks side by side and he gets really mad when he sees here how else can i do it???? i want them together not fighting! my friend did it

  • hmm... try putting the female in the jar again and leave her in them for atleast a week so they can see each other and if still that dosent work just but a divider that's the only thing left if you want them to live together in a tank. Tell me how it works out! LUCK!

  • yea i wish it works. My friends betta does not do anything or fight they just swim together all time

  • hmm... maybe ur male is was too aggressieve.

  • saya pun ada

  • You'd think they can get along.. but look at it the end of the males tail. It's a veiltale and it's missing the end of its tail! It's never a good idea to house 2 bettas together =[ Also, if they breed, prepare to have tons of fry.. it's not uncommon to have around 100 fry

  • of course they are at peace the female has many places to hide in. im surprised ive been trying to pull this off for the longest time. keep up the good work

  • My male betta looks like your male! My Female betta also looks like yours but her body is a little less red! Anyway your bettas look peaceful together!

  • how big is your tank?

  • Nice male, very handsome :P

Just be careful, I have never tried mixing them like this, but I have heard many stories of people coming home from work/school to find their male ripped apart.

  • I love your fish, I am so happy to see them living together in peace! :) I have a male betta who is peacock blue in colour and the female is a beautiful bright red, I have put a divider between them but sometimes I really wish they could get along happily :(

  • lol nice tank and bettas

  • They live together that long!

  • Did Bubbles ever end up pregnant?

  • do u use a heater? My bettas are like that, they dont fight except the male is kinda sick and i think it has a disease. Its not as active as it used to be. It hasnt eaten in weeks as well.

  • unfortunately both my fish passed away after two years... the female died first and 4 days alter the male died, I guess they were old already, because they had not symptoms...so this is now the memory of both of them

  • @sxybabykitten I'm sorry... =[ Its hard cause they were sweet and loved to get bloodworms, etc... My bettas get along too. My male is my treasure. he is so gret and laid back. He and the female flare at each other sometimes. =] but they get along.

  • @sxybabykitten

they only live 2 to 3 yeard

  • @clownbarb1 actualy they can live longer..... i know some people who have had theirs for more than 5 years

  • @sxybabykitten its ok, they only live 2-3 years

  • your female look like shes full of eggs

  • She does seem a lil cautious around the tank, but I wouldn't say its not fair, you have a nice lil set up with lots of hiding and escape places for her if the male has his grumpy moments.

  • my female betta is jusy like yours

  • that's not living in peace just cuz not fighting... rewatch this vid, she's trying to get out... she avoids him... put her in diff tank or she could end up dead no joke

  • don't worry i have a separator i just let them be together for little periods of time, but most of the time they're separated

  • I realize this video is a bit old, but I thought I should tell you anyway. A male and female betta can't be kept in the same tank for an extended period of time peacefully 99% of the time. It's just something you should never do.
