They are more specific that 350 tons of depleted uranium were used in Iraq and more recent news shows that the UK also contributed an additional 1.9 metric tonnes to that amount. DU was used because it was very efficient in taking out tanks, due to it's high density. Unfortunately, it will continue to kill and deform Iraqi people for the next several billion years.
