Eldridge Dickey didn't seem to get a fair chance at QB with the Raiders. They switched him to WR, and his enthusiasm went down. He only played until 1971.

People that didn't like it, were jealous of "Broadway". Every guy back then probably wanted to be him.
What young, single guy wouldn't want to be rich, famous, and have any woman he wanted. HA! Please, Broadway Joe ruled!

@GialloHorror: Yeah, that is possible. When I watched the 1968 Jets America's Game episode, though, it seemed to me that his teammates were mad because he focused too much on himself, and he would throw too many costly INT's.
Gerry Philbin was the one who seemed to be the most upset with Joe.
Honestly, I think that Joe was a little overrated as a QB, but he seems like a real good guy. He should have retired after the 75 season, though. The Rams shouldn't have traded for him.
