Why isnt this guy on the show? I personaly really like the show and want it to get another season. However if it keeps on that blonde chick that Shatner's character is dating then I think I will stop watching. She takes away from the son and father stuff with whats his name and makes it a romance with Shatner and the blonde woman. If they get rid of her when the show comes back then I will keep watching but if they don't then good ridence. Assuming it comes back.

The problem with this show, (because of the title and nature) is that you anticipate Shatner will be funny when he says something, but many times you find yourself thinking that wasn't so funny.

When you mentally prep the audience for what's supposed to be funny, suddenly it's not that funny.

Having seen the first and second episodes, this isn't the funniest show, but it has layers. Theres a lot more depth in this than any other sitcom on TV right now. I see and hear a lot of my Father in 'Ed'. The failure to edit himself. The refusal to share an emotion. So it makes the laugh MUCH more significant. I will be watching. I hope they keep producing.

The network does not seem to understand that the humor was derived from the fact that Sam Halpern was as serious as a heart attack when he delivered his lines.I think of drill sergeant R Lee Emery in Full Metal Jacket. He was as mean as a reptile-but i almost died laughing at his performance.
