Well lets say that your a developer working on creating the next xbox you get some top of the line stuff much better than computers and work on getting the most out of it 4 months in and its going well... except better technology has been released. You cant swap them out without losing all the work you put on tweaking it so you keep on working with old hardware.
Oh god. Civ2. I loved that. My dad got it on Mac when i was like five, and it was the only game that left a permanent impression on me - even though i had no idea how to play it! I'd never even figured out how to build a city until i was like 13.

I really wonder. This is pretty much short story of one's interaction with digital entertainment over 2-3 decades. Yet, I can't get rid of the feeling that You wanted to both criticise gaming for it's social aspects ("sun blazing - gaming") and praise it for the thrills, laughs and challenges it provided (GTA, Silent Hill, etc). I really wonder. This is pretty much short story of one's interaction with digital entertainment over 2-3 decades. Yet, I can't get rid of the feeling that You wanted to both criticise gaming for it's social aspects ("sun blazing - gaming") and praise it for the thrills, laughs and challenges it provided (GTA, Silent Hill, etc). Now, the thing I wonder about is what is Your actual point of view. Do You like gaming despite it's drawbacks or blame it for the lost "sun blazing" days ?

The only thing I don't get is why Dan Bull does not generate more attention. Talent-wise he could easily stand his ground against what is considered "good" in todays hip-hop / rap culture. And the lyrics are SICK. Does not get more "real" than this. You simply KNOW he played all these games growing up. This is raw geek culture and it speaks directly to my soul.

@douglby to clarify, Dan messaged me privately within about an hour of his throwing a 'no time to comment any further' type strop on his student protest video. the only private message I have ever sent him was in reply to this. 'Numerous times' 'over the span of a month' = on two different videos, about a month apart, with no interaction between them. Please be both more mature and more accurate in your recounting of our past internet slapfights. cheers.
