MM's Debug Code. If the game crashed or freezes, put in Control pad LEFT + "C" RIGHT + L button + R button + Start button. Then the message at the very end will come up and shows you what's the cause of the freeze/crash.
What's wierd is that it gives you strange messages. If you're playing on the new day, wouldn't there be no time left (have a message like "Only 00:00" left!), or even just crash immediately?
There's actually LESS than 00:00 remaining (Dawn of A New Day is basically the day after when the moon should have crashed). Therefore, it tries to show a time, but it ends up with nothing, making the game self-generate a message (which will never work out well). Sometimes it can managed a fucked up message, but when it can't, a crash is the result.
Are you doing it on the New Day? Also, it only happens after a certain time on the New Day. I forget what time it is exactly since it's all gibberish.

You can get rid of the message by taking out the Ocarina. If you talk to the Mask Salesman at this hour, the game will lock-up during the conversation.
very old comment but I dont care. When you're using an emulator, it wont freeze. The TLB isn't emulated if you've disabled it in the emulator properties.
