I doubt that multiple punches to the face is a procedure they teach at the academy. Although quite enjoyable to the officer, the public tends to feel its wrong.

@Ian2lo4u2c I attended a CA POST academy in 1992...never taught to strike a suspect in the face. The chances of breaking the hand were discussed. We spent many hours working out with the PR-24. Mace em, beat with the stick moving from arms, legs to collar bone etc.

I think these days there is greater emphasis on jujitsu. However, only a purple belt is really competent to deal with a more challenging suspect and such level takes 3-4 yrs of serious training. Average cop is basically a dork.
