Now, these rubes have one of their own in the form of Palin, who Brooks is terrified might get into office.

Even if I WERE a republican, the antics of the McCain/Palin crowd would turn me off: from the racial words shouted out, to the Curious George dolls.
The nutty "religious" fringe is doing a good job at chasing the oldschool republicans over to the democrats.

The bad news for Brooks, though, is that the fight to regain control of their party will be long and full of casualties. Great news for us though! :)

I've never seen such a fractured party as the current GOP. It's the corporatists versus the evangelicals and it ain't gonna be pretty.
