what the hell is that thing on the back it ruins the car. that kind of car should deffenetly not have that kind of wing on it. makes it look like it is a want to be rice burner
@alocatelli Except it was not available on convertibles or Supremes. It is however a correct-for-a-convertible/Supreme after market version. The originals were at a different angle since the trunk lids were at a different angle on the coupes (fastbacks).
Yeah, if your car is running rich enough, Fuel ends up exhausting out, using a spark plug near the end of the tail pipe and tying it into your distributor cap, like the #1 post for example, it will ignite the excess fuel coming out of the tail pipe.
or, you could buy a kit, which involves using propane (some of them anyway) and a momentary push button switch which sprays the gas, and ignites it at the same time.
You have to either buy or put together a box that will act like a second ignition system. After you have that you hook it up in the trunk with a couple coils running to your spark plugs in the pipes. Then you rev up your engine, kill the real ignition and pump the gas while the engine spools down, then turn the ignition back on before the engine dies. Its just igniting the raw fuel that comes out the exhaust when your spark plugs in the engine are off. It can be hard on it though.
Boy and his nice car. The Olds Ragtops are the best lookin do you not agree? God look at the body line compared to a hard top olds. I know because I have a 69'Ragtop just like that one but not 442 although I can make it one because I have a 455 rocket. Jeez you are a lucky man to have that thing, 442 numbers matching I've seen go for atleast 60,000$...
69 442's didnt come with 455's...only the h/o came with it...a ragtop is nice but the beauty is in the eye of the beholder....plus idk about 60,000 maybe a one of 50(optioned right) 442 could fetch that but the only olds thats sufficiently reached the 60,000 mark are the h/o's
Yea if the car isn't a 442 then it wouldn't be worth 60k. But if it was a numbers matching 442 than your right it would be. I'd say my cars body is sitting at 65% potential for next restore project. If I have the choice of rebuilding either the 350 or 455 rockets I'd build the 455. My cutlass originally came w/ the 350 rocket ( the car was built in Detroit ) forest green in color.
love it
