Okay don't rail me for this comment but I'm still a bit in denial about HIV being real. Yes people don't die from AIDS per se but from other ailments, but how do we know this was all caused by AIDS and HIV? I'm skeptical of pharmaceutical companies and their motives so perhaps I'm also skeptical about motives for providers of antiretrovirals for HIV. Any thoughts?
There's nothing I disagree with in the video, it's a list of facts about certain websites. However what isn't mentioned is that many people build long + lasting relationships online and that it's lower risk to meet someone for 'fun' when not under the influence. Many gay men start want a LTR, experience the scene and then accept that sex-on-demand is au fait. However I can think of more term non-open monogamous LTRs who met online than through bars and clubs. There's also more accountability.
Online you do have the choice to express "safe-sex only",
and also to see if the profiles you are viewing state this as well. Furthermore, one has the ability to look out for profiles that mention "pnp" or 'bb", and avoid them. Therefore, it can feel safer in some regards than hooking up in more traditional ways. I think the problem lies in the depersonalization of others, and fast-food nature of many internet meet-ups.
We should be thoroughly ashamed that as a community we have allowed our young men to carelessly pursue pleasure-on-demand to the exclusion of respect and compassion for their own and other people's lives. We have to find a way to live again, not dissipate into the general chaos.
The new HIV infections amongst gay men known to me have come about as result of their having had take-away sex via the Internet with gay men who were HIV-positive but did not use condoms or disclose their status, not that my friends are without responsibility in this respect. Almost all the Internet take-away sex chatrooms and websites promote barebacking (unprotected sex) and this, coupled with the drug and alcohol intake which accompanies such lethal sex, causes these new HIV infections.

The internet is the new bath house for instant
sexual availability. Sex has evolved into a ditgital fast food market` web sites promote
it like a social pass time with no real fear
of disease? they make it seem so harmless
with all the easy steps in attaining it. Thats
why HIV his spreading faster due to easy access and computer contacts.
