whenevr i go to change the oclour on my it changes the colour weird, i notice you have a gradient background, how did you gt that? because whenever i try to rub out the bits i dont want, it dosnt work and takes ages

when I use the brush tool to fade out the edges, nothing happens o.O. It just shades it a little darker, how do I do it so that it makes it fade away like yours does?

It means you not working in mask mode. Here is a lot of tutorias here, on YouTuBe and also internet. Give in Google words "photoshop tutorials masks" and you'll find a lot materials or here on Youtube. I wanted to send you link but youtube is blocking it. They do not want advertising :)

This is a mask (it is a long story, read some tuts in internet about masks). To work with mask you use 2 colors- black and white. White reveals, black conceals

STRG is a german CTRL or Command in Mac. Sorry for that, I was using german keyboard making this video and noticed only later I wrote STRG instead of CTRL
