The 747-8's will be making their debut in 2010. Lufthansa will be the inaugural carrier. In time(better economies), you will see more of them being ordered by airlines. Several airlines have already ordered the freighter version. The 747's are so beautiful.

These wonderful 747 were in service since Kai Tak era. Sad to see them to be replace by Boeing 777 series and Airbus Wide Body in the future.

Look at engine no. 4. They are started before pushback. See also the yellow/black hoses under the jetway used as airstart.

@MusicLover11325 Because the 747's have flown for SIA before. All "new" B747-400 do have the RR engines.

@Airplanefreaky The yellow and black hoses under the airbridge are for ground aircon. We use the APU for airstarting the engines. If it is u/s then a ground air truck(cart) is used but the hose is much smaller.

Yes, instead of using an APU. The use GPU and Air Starter (for bleed air) to start 1 engine. See the big yellow hoses under the aviobridge.
