  • You're funny! Thanks for sharing.

  • do you know how to stop talking or is it just a non stoping thing

  • That's what she said.

  • First Time Baby! I was glad i did

  • watched at school

  • people like fred ( god i hate fred ) do short little clips to make it look like its not mezmerized but u just say it and becuz ur making it up as u go along theres no errors =)

  • SASHA!!!!!!!

  • Cheney looked like Old Man Potter in It's A Wonderful Life.

  • my first we watched it @ school

  • This was sweet of you, Buck. I voted for McCain (regretting that a bit), but I really enjoyed watching the Inauguration for many of the same reasons you did.

  • This is your best vid

  • i was there! it was my 18th birthday gift from my aunt :D

  • omg that song simple gifts was a dance routine of mine! also it was really funny when obama screwed up his vow! even though i am an obama supporter i had 2 laugh

  • On the Inauguration day my class watched it and the next class beside us were like WE WANNA WATCH IT so 60 of us were crowded around a small T.V. This was in Canada =]

  • I loved seeing..... Cheney in a wheelchair!!!!!

  • I was in DC for the inauguration. Even though I was standing out in the cold starting at 4.30 in the morning, it was totally worth it. I'm really glad that I can say that I was there when this historical moment happened.

  • Carter's didn't actually snub anyone. They had greeted each other and talked before the cameras were on them. Jimmy C. addressed this on the Daily Show last week.

  • How did you like the poem Buck? I thought a 5th grader could right a better one to be honest.

  • Im not Joy Behar... ha!

  • I'm so mad because my teacher wouldn't let us watch it during class! She could've taken 5 minutes but no. Ugh, all I'm gonna remember about this amazing moment is that my teacher was lecturing the class. She said we'd see it all over later. Obviously she doesn't understand that people can watch anyhting over and over, but there's only one time you can watch it as it's happening. I will never forgive her for that. It's like telling someone during 9/11 that it would be on the news later.

  • She probably voted for Mccain.

  • Actually she was all for Obama. She just doesn't understand the significance of here and now.

  • Really! That makes it een WORSE! Its not like whatever she was talkin abt couldn't have waited. There's nothing like experiencing the moment at the exact time it happened. I would've just called in sick for school to make sure I didnt miss it, lol. If I had kids I would've let them take the day off. That moment was MONUMENTAL and loooonng overdue!

  • I know! i

  • I almost cried. It was so unfair. She could've at least let me see the swearing in for like 2 minutes. But NOOOO, she didn't want to get behind the other class. Now all I'll rmeber about this hughe day in history is my teacher lecturing the class, not me, other people. I had to suffer for other people. UGH. I will never forgive her.

  • I go to college in DC and I was at the Inauguration (after 6 hours of walking 4 miles and standing in line). It was so worth it and so amazing. I campaigned for Obama in Virginia and voted for him, and I'm so optimistic about what he'll do for our country and for the world.

  • I think it's really good that the US have this whole party for the nation when it the Inauguration Day. Obviously Obama being president has an effect over the world, but I'm quite jealous that someone like him is "taking charge" of the US. I feel so deprived D:

    Haha.

    Go Obama :]

  • I was in Best Buy >_> But I was extremely happy! :]

  • This wa my first time watching the innaguration too!! I loved his speech, so powerful. I truly hope that the change that comes will be for the better!

  • you're so adorable! x3

  • the journal and diary are dead i guess, its all about Vlogging

  • this was my first inauguration too! i have never been as interested in politics as i am now, and i love obama. i was at school during the inauguration, and they let certain classes come to the auditorium and watch it live, and i snuck out of lunch to go watch. i sat in the back. i saw biden and obama's oaths and most of obama's speech (the internet kept freezing) and was so unbelieveably excited. [: history was made!

  • omg... no one cares... he's your president now... get over it. that 'nigger' is who's controlling your future lol! get a life!

  • u look a nice guy :)

  • well, miley is still in the public eye while bush really... isn't at all now. like, no one can blame bush for everything anymore. well, they can sorta but not really. but maybe that's justcuz i'm not a miley fan? lol :-D probably so

  • Comment removed

  • Ah, i see what you mean :-) no prob, and thanx for clarifying what you meant for me!

  • goldfantail, that was EXTREMELY uncalled for.

i don't normally say things like this, but you can go fuck yourself.

  • oh you're so cute!

  • My last comment was for Sevillle. I feel bad for Obama He has to clean up after 8 years of someone fucking up the country.

  • he has the worst job- can you imagine inheriting all that crap from bush?

i feel so bad for his family who has to handle the pressure like he does

  • Grow up it's 2009! that language isn't needed. What are you one of those people that run around with a sheet on their head because they are such cowards that they can't show their face. why don't you go hide in a cave some where.

  • The John Williams thing was so brilliant! It gave me chills.

  • OMG Buck you're face at the beginning was so cute! This was a very sweet video =)

    You are awesome <3

  • I'm SO happy that they kicked that fucking monkey Bush, out of the White house!!!!! Obama has only been president for a few days, and he's ALREADY fixing our economy. He'a a smart man, who's been through everything, who got into Harvard, because of TRYING, unlike Bush, who's dad payed him in. HE WILL help our country. I was there, up front, watching Obama coming out. Except it was REALLY cold. And he accepts gay marriages, which is good. I was crying!God, freaking Cheyney in a wheel chair? LMAO

  • I was in Washington D.C! I marched in the Inaugural Parade and when we marched past President Obama I started hyperventilating! That was the most exciting day of my life, I cried after the parade was over because it finally hit me that Obama was President! I realize he's not a celebrity but he has brought so much hope to our country and world! And for those who think Obama will be no different than Bush, he's already done more possitive things than Bush did in 8 YEARS!

  • I love you, but I'm not a fan of Obama.

  • I think I love you more than I love myself.

    :D

  • obama is a nice man but bad president

  • he's only been in office for 4 days..

  • No change is going to come and it's because of people like you....has nothing to do with the president...you do not know him personnely so no need for the negative comments....black or white...doesn't matter......When the people in this world CHANGE...THE WORLD WILL BE A MUCH BETTER PLACE!....PROMOTE LOVE NOT HATE!

  • "Seeing Dick Cheney wheeled out there..."

That's pretty sick. You know that, right?

You're sitting there, comfortable, and he's unhealthy, having gone through an extremely stressful eight years of personal attacks, insults, and his medical troubles.

I mean, I could say something hateful, say how Prop 8 was great and all gays deserve to burn in hell, but I wouldn't. It's neither the government's place to dictate who can go through a religious sacrament, nor is it kind to laugh at misfortune.

  • Obama has brought hope and excitement to a lot of people he's a very moving and intelligent person. Let's not expect for him to totally fix the mess in which Bush left us. Obama has a daunting task ahead and we shouldn't just wait in the sidelines to see what happens it will also take the action of citizens to make a change in their communities.

  • aww

  • i went to the inauguration and it was soooo much fun. i loved seeing obama and it was such a great experience. lets hope he keeps his promises and gives this country the change it desperately needs.

  • i love you michael buckley. like you don't even know :]

  • i don't know why everyone is going so crazy over Barack Obama. He is going to ruin our country!!!

  • finally someone who isn't brain washed, lets see how fast things go to hell

  • I know!! I am a very strong repubilcan.

  • i was at school wen they made us watch him as he got signed in...

  • lol made you? Why didnt you jsut walk out of the room?

    Its got a hiden agenda

  • This vlog is the one I have connected with you most. All the best.

  • even though i dont live in the USA and im not an american

i did watch it and i thought it was awesome!!!!!!!!

  • ok the man is an AMAZING speech giver...AMAZING....im not for or against...im just hopeful....that change will come and it will all be sunshines and rainbows again...with a couple scattered showers :)

  • I was at school on that day. but i watched the whole thing on tv in my german class. my teacher was nice enough to let us watch. it was pretty cool. and it was my first time watching the inauguration ever. it was pretty interesting. i think obama is a good man.

  • you're so lucky. I was in HISTORY class and i wasn't able to watch History being made. It was ridiculous. I was so upset, I still am.

  • hillary isn't running him but he is horrible and will ruin this country more. bush has kept us safe these entire 6 years. obama wil ruin it. look at how he's already closing guantanamo (sp?) bay. he doesn't know what he's gonna do with the prisoners, he should at least have an actual plan before he does something like that. he's a smart man but he doesn't use his intellectual ability in the right way.

  • I was in the parade so I didn't get to watch it because I was on a bus in my marching uniform! We had to be in the capital by like, 2 in the morning because they blocked off a four mile radius around the city. We did listen to his speech on the bus though, and I cried too.

  • I was in DC during the inauguration. I was standing near the Washington Monument, which was kind of far away, but I was right in front of a huge TV screen. It was amazing. =]

  • It would kind of be hilarious if people are all making all these excited videos and saying "oh I'm SO happy... blah blah blah" and Obama f's up BIG time...... woooops! ahahahahahahaha

  • Hi Buck. This was my first time watching. After Biden was sworn in my mom n I went to church to watch the rest. I loved it, just everyone had this energy and spirit. It was great! Of course him being sworn in was a big moment. I really took to heart his speech, how we all have to do our part. After his address we prayed for him n his family, his entire cabinet and for Bush n his family. It was n emotional prayer. Then i went home n watched ALL the events n didn't go to bed til midnight.

  • This was my first inauguration and what an experience! It was truly uplifting! This was a day filled with hope for better times to come. Our country really needs this especially with all the hard days ahead. There is so much to comment about and so little space. Obama sure knows how to deliver a speech! OMG Arethra's hat, sparkly! The speeches were short, the music was wonderful.I especially loved cellist Yo-Yo Ma and violinist Itzhak Perlman. And the affection between the Obamas so sweet.

  • Of course I was crying! Pretty much the same emotions as you. :3

Even though I'm not american, and all I did was watch it at home on television, the whole day felt like such a special memory. I'll never forget it.

The world really seems so optimistic at the moment. <3

  • Im not american but i stayed home in order to watch the inauguration on French TV. They sucked at translating!! The Clintons and the carters totally snobbed each other, but it was so cool to see clinton and bush sr. together! I LOVED Franklin's bow, it was fantastic and she was definately singing live because at times it sounded a little wrong. How funny to see the president stumble over the words over the bible (whos fault was it really?)!! Am so optimistic about Barack Hussein Obama!!

  • it was the judge's fault. he said it wrong obama started to say it, paused, then the judge said it again and Obama repeated him. Since they said it wrong last night(i live in the US)Obama had to say it over. This is because the oath of office is in the Constitution n therefore must be stated correctly wen the new president is sworn in.

  • this was my first inauguration too!

we watched it in school, so yeah.

    it was pretty awesome. :)

ohmybama! (haha.) i started to tear up a bit when obama was giving his speech, but i was in a room full of people who werent really listening, so i wasnt gonna be the one crying.

  • This vid is why I love you! You see the world and want for better. I expect better from people. Divided we fall!!

  • I marched in the parade, so I was sitting on a bus, waiting to go through security, listening to it all on radio.

Obama's speech was good, and that was about the only thing. That poem sounded like she made it up on the spot, the benediction and invocation were just weird, Aretha sounded past her prime, and even the oath sucked so much that it had to be redone.

  • That was such a good video! haha! Good job! I like the music in the background too. What was the song you used?

  • I watched it twice. :)

The first time I was at work, so the mindset it was very different. However, when I watched it again last night I was crying like a baby. Oh, bite me... it's a big deal! :P

  • I had to watch the speech online, and there were tears in my eyes at times.

My Mom had told me that the speech was just another political speech and not like the 'There is nothing to fear...' or 'Ask not what you can do for your country...' So I really wasn't expecting much, but I think there are tidbits in the speech that could make it into the history books.

  • I really don't like Obama so I didn't watch the inauguration. I'm gonna get so many thumbs down but meh.

  • It was more than just "Obama"... it was history in the making. Many people that are not Obama supporters were not able to understand that. It was quite saddening.

  • the inauguration rocked Buck! i watched CNN alllllll day long man.

people are excited about their government for a change. Believe it.

    your favorite subscriber,

    XEM

  • Hehe I noticed the high pitched singing lady too! lol!

  • I was working so I could give them some more of my tax money! lol

  • ino the internet wouldnt work for me on the BBC website so i missed abit two bu it was still good i thought!

  • this was the first time I've watched the inauguration, but then again i'm 13 so the last time was when i was in like 4th grade!

  • aretha's hat was INSANE, and i seriously doubt she was singing. hey michael, if you don't like conflict, how do you stand all the reality show's you watch?! i liked the chumminess too, especially between bush and obama. i kinda like bush now that he's out of the white house. :) and i'm sorry but whoever doesn't think cheney in a wheel chair wasn't funny has no sense of humor. i didn't get emotional, but my mom did and has had the stuff on ALL day. it's almost gotten annoying. but i'm happy.

  • Well while I don't really get why everyone is so excited and/or crying (I could understand a little excitedment, but - seriously - this is kind almost madness), I am happy for you all Americans being so happy and having such a great time. So let's hope for change to come. =)

Sry for mistakes, not native speaker

  • OH and did you see the the parade??? A gay group had a float!! this was the first time that was ever allowed! yeaaa

  • The Obamas were the first to give the leaving president & first lady a gift

  • i was watchign nbc =]

  • First time I saw inauguration too -- very exciting historic moment!

It's surprising that it takes over 200 years for the first president to be different from the others - maybe someday a black pres wouldn't be considered "different". Change is coming!

  • the hat lol

  • love ABC

  • Buck, Clinton & Carter hate eachother and they're both Dems.

  • I cannot watch the inaguration...I was in hospital almost dying =S...but I guess that somebody upload a vid about it so,is the important topic on this days...till we get damn sick of it!

  • I was watching CNN, they had obsecure technology as always.

  • i went to the inaugarationn! (: with 31 other students from our school! its unbelievable! im 13 and my first trip to dc i went to see OBAMA<3 get sworn in!! amazingg. best time of my life.

  • The instrumental was interesting.

Slow, a bit dark and moody. And then it picks up happy and hopeful.

  • i was so happy... tried to fight the tears but i couldnt. =)

  • I am German but i am so thrilled that Barack Obama is president now. Happy Inauguration day USA XD

  • It was my first too. I watched all day in my office at work. This is the first time in my life that I was actually very excited about our president. I love that we finally have a president that can speak and sound intelligent!! I am very optimistic about our future as a nation!! YAY Obama!!

  • It was on in the uk. i got home from school and iw as like WAIT THATS AMERICA, then i wacthed it for abit (: i toally like the new american pressent (:

  • it was really cool. i watched in school for an hour and it was really fun. it was the 1st one ive watched and hes the only other president besides bush that i can remember so thats really weird for me too hear pres obama. also i kinda teared up but i didnt cry. it was really good and im glad as americans weve changes so much in 200 years.... haha about time. =) love you great vid!

  • I've always had to work on inauguration day, so this was my first ALL-DAY experience. SO wonderful seeing all the happy people there - I watched MSNBC. The crowd was estimated at 2 million!! That will never happen again!

Definitely a historic day, glad I got to watch. THANKS for your video. It really WAS an exciting thing.

  • I was AT the inauguration. it was such an emotional and memorable experience :)

  • me 2 it was amazing!!!

  • Also loved Simple Gifts. The oboe player was so excited.

    Sad about Teddy Kennedy.

p.s. I hope you don't really spell "yay" like that

  • I watched it, and i didn't like what i saw. Did anyone else see Bush being booed? Like him or not he was our president and you're supposed to treat him with respect!

  • It was my birthday so it was an extra great day!

  • I was at the inaug yesterday- INSANE!!, but I thought Cheney in a wheelchair was really funny too but I felt like an asshole admitting it.

  • Woo!

  • I cried too! don't feel like you're the only one :)

  • We're the good guys again! Yay!

  • I felt good too...This proves that America practice what she preaches "Freedom for all"... whether he will be a good/bad prez..it doesn't matter cuz the fact that he made it to the white house should be significant for everyone (white, black, red, yellow), especially for ppl who have heard that they would never amount to anything. I definitely felt encouraged and found new inspiration to continue my road to success after today.

  • I think that Obama will be an awesome president!

    USA!

  • I also wanted to say that I HOPE, HOPE, HOPE that President Obama does a good job. I have an 'apprehensive hope' for him. His legacy is so much more important than any other.

Oh... I was watching CNN- I gotta' have me some Anderson. :)

  • I did not vote for President Obama. HOWEVER, I was moved and was thankful that the kids had a snow day yesterday and we were able to sit as a family and watch it. For that day, it wasn't about his politics (for me), it was about the history that was made. I was seriously considering taking my 6th grader out of school to watch the inaguration because his school wasn't doing anything for it. :( But I didn't have to! I hope he remembers years from now where he was and understands the magnitude.

  • I watched this morning. I watched inuguration day footage until 11am pacific time from 7am which was 2pm eastern.Anyway I come from a very opinionated house and so I heard debates before but I only really got into politics when Bush was president.I was 18 when he became pres and it was the only one I have had since I became an adult out of high school.I remember watching Clinton in elementary school on the tv.They stopped school for it. Just for about 20 mins though.

  • Bush 1 and Clinton are actually really close friends. . . . . .It is nice to see the nation in a happy mood for a change.....

  • I'm so glad I am not the only one that is ridiculously optimistic. I'm 22 and it was my first time watching it. I was also super excited and very hopeful for our future. You didn't mention the fact that as he was being sworn in he seemed pretty nervous and he kinda stumbled over some of the words. Perhaps you didn't notice! lol

And for all the pessimistic people who say he is going to fail, He won 4 years... give him the time he deserves. Its not going to change immediately.

  • I didnt watch it! I am not very interested in politics! I watched Bush's though! I think I dont mind Obama - I am giving him the benefit of the doubt, although I do hate most politicans as a rule! (that what comes from growing up in Northern Ireland I guess!!)

  • Prepare for the downfall.

  • Today was the first time I watched the Inauguration but that's because I'm 15. I felt passionately about this election because Barack Obama is like America's savior and I just want to thank all the supporters. XO! Love the video and love you!

  • I'm as excited as you are! I am in Japan studying abroad so I had to stay up until 2:30 to watch the inauguration and Obama's speech. I was tired by then, so I didn't watch the parade, but let me just say; Change feels GOOD! =)

  • I was standing in my radio room in Canada. And enough of the people around me were crying and clapping at our propped up monitor that we watched.

    It was pretty cool.

  • This was the first time I've watched an inauguration as well. I guess I never had any interest til today. I love how things were so united today as everyone watched, even the people in other countries.

  • Over here in Germany,it was live on at least four tv channels and because of the time zones we were able to watch it all comfortably starting at 5 pm. :o)To my taste there's still way too much religion involved in the speeches and the whole ceremony. But still,I share your optimism about the new feel that Obama's presidency has given not just to the US but the whole world. He gives you the feeling that he,unlike Bush,is able to listen and to make decisions based on a minimum amount of knowledge.

  • Errrm, that was supposed to read "...based on at least a minimum amount of knowledge". Darn character number limit in youtube comments. *g

  • I have watched every one since Nixon. My parents thought it was important to be aware of politics and the process.

I was watching this online and/or listening to it on the radio since I had to prepare for a class.

I am in Canada right now, so it is really cool to see their reaction to Obama. I have only heard great things.

  • i didn't watch it, i just waited for youtube people to make video about it....I'm lazy i guess!

  • It was my first one too it was amazing, I cried lol just a emotional day!

  • i soo totally agree! i couldnt watch it, but i am so glad obama won and everything, i read his speach and it made me cry..im so glad to be alive during this part of history in the making..whoohoo!!

  • I listened to NPR at work. It was great! I'm filled with hope. He seems so practical, not like a politician at all.

  • What a day! I'm british but was still so exciting! Was great to enjoy such an important piece of history

  • Happy Inauguration Day to you Michael. I watched the whole thing mostly even though I'm Canadian.

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOO INAUGURATION DAY!!! Yay For Obama. Yay For America. LOL

And I was watching on ABC. I like Charlie too. This was my first time watching, I watched the whole thing.

  • U have no memory of Dick Cheney over the last few years??!! Lets move on??!! No... Lets hold them to account, don't u think?

  • Mind of a child!

  • haha you're so cute with the optimism and happiness, like a child :D

  • I was in class...damn college!

  • I feel like I'm the only one who sees that the emperor has no clothes. :(

  • hehe so true.

This was also my first time watching, I've never been as into politics as I was/am this time around.

    You're made of awesome.

  • you are sooooo sweet and i love u!!!! and your doggies are soooo cute...random but yea <3's for you and the new president :)

  • you're a really sweet guy, i'd love to be your real friend. this was my first inauguration day mostly because 4 years ago i was too young to care about the states (iamcnd) but yea, i hope everyone else is optimistic too.

  • buck you're so sweet!!!

  • this might be a little weird, but i got emotional when i saw obama and his wife dance, and joe biden and his wife dance..idk x) it was just really sweet.

  • The gift is just something Michelle did, its never been done before... It was a Journal and a pen for Laura's Memoirs (yes I know I can't spell lol) I Think that this is awesome, really shows what kind of family the Obamas are!!!!

  • I only watched a little bit of it... it's LONG. But I got a little emotional. I can't even remember what channel it was on. YAY, OBAMA!

  • same! go on obama!!!
