I have a Gibson LP Faded from 2007 - it comes with zebra-style Gibson Burstbucker Pro with Alnico V magnets - I want to recreate that Slash sound from Appetite! He used Seymour Duncan APH-1s which have Alnico II magnets. I suppose I could put these in but I am very interested in Bare Knuckle Pickups - which would anyone suggest to get the sound I'm after? Maybe the Stormy Mondays? The VHIIs? Thanks!
These sound great - I never hear people playing BKP Stormy Mondays with more of a rock feel, but this shows they can do it. I'm currently playing an Abraxas set with the magnets changed to A2.
which BK pick up would you suggest for fairly heavy distortion but playing in styles such as radiohead, bloc party etc. or if not BK then which pick ups would be good? im putting them into a fender tele. thanks x
i think your sound is great. i have a few artisans. kept them original. i wish gibson had never discontinued those artisan humbuckers. the 77-78 models i think are the best versions. very distinct tone with a fender style amp. real fat sounding thru an old peavey deuce with jbl's. do some more vids with the artisan--they used good wood from gibson.
Very nice...I'd like to hear them through a Black Face Fender to get more of an idea what is the pickups and what is the amp....you know? Thanks tho!!
@Danthehorse Gibson pickups don't hold a candle to Bare Knuckle pickups. Seriously.. BK make the best pickups in the world.. I am sound engineer and have tested several hundred of the best pickups in the world & in my honest opinion BKs are indeed the best.. the second best I have tried are the Tom Holmes pickups.
Niiiiiice! It seems that any Bare Knuckle vintage style pickup will excel at all medium output needs, no matter if it's a Mule, a Stormy Monday or whatever...

@MrTeook Nailbomb would be my suggestion. Or Mix Vh-II(bridge) and Stormy Monday(Neck). But thats only my opinion.

I have a guitar with 3 humbuckers.Let me know how did you configure them together? All bareknuckles?
proxy69 3 years ago
there are all stormy monday humbucker. It's very good. But you can try to put a Mule or a VHII for the bridge and you will have a good guitar too.

@Cl0udyDayz Very versatile ! from clean to overdrive (clean jazz to led zep). Great crunch and lead. But not really good for Metal...
