absent minded Arab! why are you using bad language and trying to educate me on region that is full of dictators, brutality and crimes against persons.
I see what is happening an Egypt and many of Arabs at least think they will be free from our influence, that is not going to be acceptable, because we already have chosen a strong man to reflect our ideals and protect our interests in your region...so,don't dream to-long that just realty of unjust situation.
fuck ahmad saddat ......due to these people now the muslim countries are suffering pakistan and egypt needs islamic revolution........inshallah moulana moududis revolution will come to both countries..............americans have imposed there agents on both pakistan and egypt.............they are not honest to any one they say we only protect our national interest..........
nothing would ever change Arab police state ,Arabs their limited intellectually couldn't manage their own population's hanger and starvation that's way foreign aids needed with happen hands from western world and given just to save Arabs from chaos and violence that faces Arab against Arab we're familiar with.
@oct1984 Egyptians are NOT Arabs. You uneducated, dumb fuck. AND Egyptians are changing now. No more police state, no more Mubarak. So, you're wrong. Fuck you.

@oct1984 i just saw this but i have to bring something to your attention to that which has a begining always has an end if you dont understand well so be it
...It was surely a victory for Egypt. A small nation having to fight practically the entire Western world. Ppl. dont take into consideration the odds they faced crossing the suez. Even Israel didnt believe anyone could cross Barleve(sp)..the biggest challenge for egypt now is democracy. I hope they can do it. that way the talent of egypt will stay ¬ go abroad to seek better jobs. most of them are in the gulf. My view is start locally. Egypt is a wonderful place w/great ppl.
I think you need to go Fuck yourself idiot! Go tell your palestinian buddies to go free themselves before you worry about Egypt, our FLAG FLIES OVER EVERY INCH OF OUR LAND BIATCH!
kingakhnaton, only the Egyptian pronounce the 'J' as 'G', it's the Egyptian accent, and appartently ther narrator is not Egyptian but from another arab society. Jamal (Arabic: جمالis a Male (and more rarely a female) given name. The origin of the name is Arabic and it means beauty = Jamal a male name, and Jamila for female. Hope this answer your question
how did he "beat" Israel? what about the 3rd Army? how much did the Arabs gain from the October war...let's be frank...he pussied out of the war remember?! I don't understand why people mythologies the man as if he's a hero!
I don't know about pussying out the American Army completely replaced Israel's army, you see he maybe saw how the Soviets weren't reliable, I never said he was a hero. The man is dead no need to idolize him but considering you did regain territory and no one was going to replace your military weapons I think in that regard he made a wise decision.

Many in Egypt do in fact see him as a hero who got back Sinai but for the wrong reasons as they believe the 73 war was a "winning" war when in fact was a humiliating defeat...regardless of the American/Soviet involvement (am not saying anything about the reasons or his decision making). His visit to Israel got Sinai back. So I'm simply stating how he achieved the goal of the war...him being dead now is irrelevant to these historical facts.
Damn I'm a fag for pointing out that this man is not alive, maybe I'm wrong but you did regain territory. I'm not pro-Zionist; I just don't hate someone that assonated over 20 years ago.
Sadat was a great man. He was far better than Nasser and he got our land back against all odds. His brother died in 1973 war. Sadat was thinking about cutting the relation with Israel after their withdraw from Sinai because of Palestine. Nasser was a lot of noise with no actions. Despite all of this all the Egyptian leaders in the last 50 years don't deserve to become a president for a great nation like Egypt. It's a military rule hidden under civilian rule.
Very well documented history. I'm so glad aljazeera has decided to make a programme reporting on the political history of Egypt. It is time people started learning more about the affairs of the most influential, powerful, (and currently, one of the most unstable) Arab nations in the world. I hope this will shed more light on the Mubarak dictatorship, etc,
Well with the shift in political power to the Gulf States... primarily Saudi Arabia, Egypt has fallen to the secondary tier of leading Arab nations in the area.
Never let it be said that Al Jazeera does not know its Taquiyya.
