I wear them but I see to close like when I don't have them on I look at my face it looks normal when I put them on I can see bumps all over my face on anyone face make people look ugly do anyone one else have this problem?
I have these kind of contacts, they're okay, but I wouldnt recommend wearing them on a windy day or where theres lots of dust flying around,if dust gets in your eyes while you're wearing them, damn,it hurts like hell and you cant see unless you take them off and clean them, then put them back in,I'd say wear goggles during windy days, lol
Duoboy42 u should be worried about hard lens they hurt u havé to touch the middle of yur eye and theres way more so u hav no idea i see other girls wear the friends soft contacts but u cant wear the hards cause there eyes r going to ne in pain so dont be talkin unless u got them
Oh god thanks, [with the pull eye one!] they showed me at the doctors but it was too hard. Finally it was taking me an hour. But with that trick it toook me 6 minutes. L0L im still a beginner. Im 12 1/2 years old! I was crying already. I even prayed to all gods.
I'm gettin these 2moz!! I tried both Soft & Hard lenses on, and tbh i like the hard ones WAY better!! --nd u get better vision wiv da hard ones rather then the soft ones (so my option told me)
That kind of sounds like you've got some deposits on them. Mine would do that if I didn't use a separate cleaner on them. For RGPs, you need to use a cleaner in addition to the lens solution; I have used Bausch & Lomb's Boston Cleaner for a long time and highly recommend it. But as always, make sure you ask your eye doctor if you have any concerns.
@Thrust360 They do take a while to get used to, like when i first got them, they were uncomfortable all the time but eventually, i could wear them for longer and longer everyday. and now it doesn't even feel like i'm wearing them. Only after about 10 hours they begin to iritate my eyes. But it's worth it in the end. :)
my lenses are red for right and yellow for left. I have so much trouble putting them in because of that fact that they are rigid and have no experience with contacts. Everyone keeps say oh youll get used to it and practice but its just not working. any suggestions on how i should tilt my mirror????
Is there a method how to awoid scars on the cornea while wearing gp contact lenses? I am prescribed such ones and I`m a bit scared that I`ll lose sight.
If you know your going to be working in a high dust environment wear youre contacts but also use good quality none prescription safety gargles you can find them in homedepot or a good hardware store.
Seriously I’d be more worried wearing soft contacts lenses than wearing GP lenses
Statistically Soft lenses has caused more People to loose there eye sight than GP lenes
Fallow Doctors Orders Clean lenses with the Proper medium, wear lenses once your eye are used to them no more than 8 to 14 hours daily beyond than wear you old glasses, and you should have no problems
If both lenses wear tinted Green or Blue Then there would be a dot on the edge of the right lens. Letting you know witch lens belongs to the right eye.
@duoboy42 Oh so that's what that is? I thought there was an small eyelash caught on the edge of the contact, lol Thanks so much for the info I just receive mine today and it was not fun trying to get them in, I wish I could take those numbing drops home!! lol
Wish I watched this video when I first got my contacts, I was a complete mess....now I can take them out even when I'm totally wasted (which I don't recommend btw)
What are GP contact lenses. I wear disposeables only when i have an affair to go to (i am retired) and i can use them once and get rid of them the same day since I won't have anywhere else to go for another 3 months or so. I do not use them around the house during the day, what for? ain't goin nowhere. I wish they had lenses that I could use whenever I wanted, but keep them and not have to throw them away! thanks
GP Lenses are highly specialized peaces of plastic that offer better vision quality than what you would find if you wore glasses, and in many cases offer better vision than soft contacts, it has something to do with the soft lens changing it shape to soot the eye, while with GP lenses there is no changing shape.
P.S. GP lenses can last 3 to 9 years when properly cared for.
I am wearing RGP lenses now...What can I do when dirt or small particles enter my lens?Because my eyes hurt..And I cant possibly take it out when im at school...any techniques to remove the dirt in my lens aside from removing the lenses?
Don't do what I used to do when I was at school. I used to roll my eye around to try to flush it out. It was while doing this that my cornea got scratched in both eyes and scar tissue built up. Years later these same scars have prevented my right eye from being able to seat the required lens fit altogether, and the eye is now awaiting a cornea transplant operation. The other eye is also scarred and struggles to seat its RGP lens, so will be ready for transplant in a few years.
I have first started wearing contacts in January...i started out with 2 week contacts (soft) after 6 months i was having problems..i then went into monthly and again had problems after the first week. Now im in dalies and yet again i have problems with irratation and reddness....Would GP contacts still turn my eyes red and cause irratation...would these kinda be better in my case??? Answers please! I HATE wearing my glasses !
OK you don't like glasses and you've used soft contacts and they irritate you. Hard contacts would probably do the same thing. you need to speak with a board certified Opthamologist M.D. and have a serous consult. Make an appointment at a local hospital to see the eye doctor, If the doctor says something that bothers you, you do have the right to a second opinion, at a different hospital. Hope this helps good luck.
I'll see what happens....Its jus money...My mom put out for these contacts and now i cant even wear them.....she doesn't like forking out all this money.....i need a JOB lol thanks for your help!
Dont press your parents too much ware a pare of good looking glasses till your old enough to work save the money and go surgical to correct your vision
well when i had dailies my eyes would always get dry. but it stopped when i got gp lenses. i would talk to your eye docter about other possiblities.... are you old anough to just get lasik??
That always use fresh solution every time is bullshit that would mean you should buy it every few week's. I buy mine every four months and a never had any problems with bacteria or anything similar .
Looks like removing this lens is bit harder then the soft one's .
I was going to get LASIK or PRK last month since I hate wearing glasses and every soft contacts lens brand I have tried (over 10 of them) is impossible for me to wear for more than 6 hours because they dry out my eyes and make them red. But the day before the surgery I backed out because I realized I never tried GP lenses, which are supposed to better if you have dry eyes. So I am going to give these a shot...hopefully they will work out for me.
It is very likely you suffering from Chronic dry eye syndrome, speak with the doctor and see if you can use "RESTASIS"
which you can only get with prescription.
even with hard contacts you will have problems with chronic dry eye RESTASIS works by reducing the inflamation of the tear ducts which causes dry eye syndrome. hope my reply was helpfull good luck.
No, my eyes feel perfectly fine when I'm not wearing contacts and they don't feel dry at all. That is why I believe it is a contact related issue and not the "chronic dry eye syndrome" that you speak of.
You will need to speak with two eye doctor's one who does glasses and one who does contacts make sure there reputable doctor's stay away from bargain basement doctor's after all we are talking about your eye sight
Unfortunately No, the only way to get used to them is to ware them. Follow the doctors directions and in about a month you'll hardly even fill them when you put them on.
P.S. Follow the Doctors Directions if he said to ware them for two hours at first ware them for 2 hours next week 4 hours the week after that 8 hours
It Depends on where you live let your fingers do the typing and find a reputable Rigid lens specialist find one or two that are highly recommended they'll be slightly more expensive, But its your Eye's we are not talking about hanging a couple pieces of plastic off your nose, we are taking about putting some Specialized plastic on your eye's. I think you would want the best man or women on that job
GP Lenses were made to Correct Vision Whether it be short sighted or far sightedness. for Astigmatism and Presbyopia the lenses are made to correct for the two separate conditions. I don't know if they make lenses two handle both good luck happy lens wearing.
my doctor told me not to waste that much conditioner as shown here. only couple of drops to maintain lenses wet over the night, but he also proscribed me some protein removal tablets
I loved this video. I just got my lenses, this is day three. I had no problems putting them in, I found it was like the soft contacts. A hint on putting them in is to not move your finger towards your eye but move your eye (head) towards your finger. I don't know why it works but it does for me. Still practicing taking them out... I'll get it with time I'm sure.
I'm getting my new GP Lenses in about two weeks..I don't really know what to expect. I've been wearing soft lenses for about 5 years, but I developed keratitis from overuse, and I have to switch over to GP lenses or not wear contacts at all. And I love wearing contacts.
This video helped out a lot, now I have the vaguest idea of what to expect. Thanks!
I've had mine for a few days, they don't hurt, they are uncomfortable. It kind of feels like I'm really tired and I have 'sand' in my eyes. I'm blinking a lot more than normal too, which makes them more noticeable... They are better for your eyes though so I'm gonna keep plugging along. Good Luck
the reason they are uncomfortable is because there is more lid awareness.. if you held your top lid up , you wouldn't even feel that there is a gp lens in ur eye..u seem very motivated though and that is the key to being a CL wearer.. GP's give the wonderful, clear vision and u don't have to worry about not being able to see clearly when ur contacts dry out..cuz GP'S dont dry out
Good luck with your lenses and hope they are satisfying you:)
I'm sure you must have soft contacts since GP lenses are VERY easy to put in. As for putting in soft contacts, make sure you finger is not too wet, or the lens will try to wrap around your finger making it impossible to put in.
You might want to try GP lenses. Better vision, healthier for your eyes, and cheaper in the long run (one pair can last for years!)
Very good video. Thanks for posting!I have been wearing them for 10 years already and I have to confess some times really hurts ! Especially if you walking against the wind, or in the sunshine sometimes. And fells bad when you sleep wearing them, you know, some times happen! It is a little bit unconfortable to be honest, but if you take good care of the lents it will fell much better in your eyes, never forget to clean them AFTER use too...Its really important...
This video is quite useful but they are expecting everyone to be expert at first ... which is not possible ... I've tried almost 2 weeks until i am certain i found the way for myself of doing this. They hurts like sh*t when they go to the wrong place in the eye ...
When I first got hard lenses I had trouble taking them out. I learned the pop out technique. There is a small suction cup that can take them out, but those can be a bit dangerous. I just look forward pull the corner of my eye with my index finger look toward my nose and blink. The lens pops out. Just make sure you do it over a flat surface or have your other hand cupped under your eye to catch it.
