Since you are the man with all things triumph... I have a 79 triumph 750cc with elec iginition. Got the bike running, but it cut out on me while at a red light. I think my rectifer might be bad and not charging the battery.
How can I check to see either its the rectifer or the charging magneto inside the engine.
Not much snow down here at the moment, but it's COLD! It snowed the other week and I have to say the old Bonnie is the best bike I've ever ridden in the snow, I got to work before most of the blokes in cars :)
With that weather in the UK, get yourself a good anti freeze, Irish whiskey (Bushmills is best) or a good Cognac should do the job!
I think it is the Triumph unit single styled right. Almost the shape of the BSA R3 tank I just got with the dusty bike. Turned down the parts shed of BSA for a T150 "chopper" and '69 R3. Wish there was a Lunmad series on servicing those! glad I have a steep hill to pretend riding it. LOL! Happy holidays,
What a brilliant idea. For anyone wanting to have a go at keeping their bike in good repair you are like an easy to follow manual. Something to watch, instructions to listen to and usually a non- expensive way of making or mending. Maby you should have a special "Ask Lunmad" link where people can ask you about specific query's.
Great job John, works a treat! There's a canny bit of work gone in there. Delightful that you left the 'outtakes' in (if you catch my drift) :-D The bike looks great, and this is a real reminder that this labour of love is turning into a considerable and unique resource of information you're building here.
My first was a Trumpy.. ;)

We're having a bit of a thaw at the minute! but Arctic conditions are forecast boo! hoo!
Ice now!!
I'm partial to the odd Bushmills (no ice) and most other alcohol as anti freeze for the old bod :-D
all the best for 2011

how do I change the rear tire bearing ?? thanks
caferacer64 1 year ago
@caferacer64
I have changed the rear wheel bearings but did not video it :-(
I will next time.
They are fairly straight forward to do, and similar to the front one to do.

I'm still adding, now I know it works I think I should do separate engine/cycle one's
as this one is getting a bit cluttered.

The composite bike view at the end is brilliant.

I'm still adding bits and pieces.
