  • @thoughtsmedia The cobber tube is a tube that makes it impossible to get to components like the CPU. It's integrated in most factory built PC's.

  • "But Here is the big Butt" Ha ha ha

  • i wantto by a mini pc for a media center on a way to dowload movies and see them on my tv.shud i get thisone or the mac mini? pliz respond if you dont can somone else say there opinione!?

  • My harddisk just died (after >2 years of usage). It was not detected by Bios. Is it hard to change the harddisk? I haven't call Dell but I'm sure they would charge at least twice the market price for replacing the harddisk.

  • @kelvinyamcs I didn't see any obvious way of getting at the hard drive, so it would take some work, but it's probably doable if you have enough patience.

    - Jason

  • @ThoughtsMedia

I had found another video on "opening" the Studio Hybrid. I have removed the hard drive last night. Will get it replaced today.

  • @kelvinyamcs Good to hear! I knew this YouTube thing was good for something. :-)

    - Jason

  • Hi: I've bought this cpu for my parents the minute it came out. It never had any problems. I've added another gb RAM and I'm running now on 4gb RAM, t6600 2.2ghx win 7 x64. Now I just wanted to add a SSD. I need you help, since I'm looking really hard, but I'm having trouble finding the HDD dimensions. Is it possible to replace the HYBRIDS HDD for a SSD? Please let me know so I can do the swap. Thx a lot in advance!

  • @taboo84 SSDs are the same size as 2.5" laptop drives. You should have no trouble.

    - Jason

  • dell is such a rip off 600 bucks more for a powerfull cpu

  • they are trying to compete with the mac mini

  • @imccoury Really mac mini sucks balls dont say such a thing!

  • it doesnt have a vga port

  • Help me plz.

Was it the 30" Dell monitor in your test?

I am planning to use this cool pc with 30" Dell monitor. Dont you use the same mobitor in your test?

If not, do u know the max screen rosolution supporeted by thi ps?

    Thank you.

  • @dmitryyurkevich No, it's a 24" Dell LCD monitor. I don't know what the maximum resolution it can support is, but I suspect it will handle the 2550 x 1600 (or whatever the 30" resolution is) just fine. Might want to check with Dell though...

    - Jason

  • DELL support service told me a minute ago the max resolution is actually 2k not 2,5k.

    :-((((((

    Thank you.

  • @dmitryyurkevich Hmm. That kind of surprises me - but then again, this isn't a very hardcore computer; pairing it with a 30" monitor is kind of...interesting. :-) I guess it can't support dual-DVI, which is what you need to get north of 2000+ pixels in resolution...

    - Jason

  • My optical drive gives me troubles, only read Gold DVDS. DVDS made by me dont read them and also scratch them. Any idea of the trouble?

  • Dude.. even thorough it did not have mic slot, it did not mean you need to use usb mic.

The blue "line in" can used as a mic in plug.

you do not have to sacrifice....

  • My graphics have a 5.9 o.o

    My score is 4.5

  • U talking about the windows 7 score?

  • i just bought one, cant have it till xmas though grrrrr, cant wait to start using it though, i never knew it would be that small!!! its so cute!!! haha

  • It playes world of warcraft well

    and i only have 2.00gb.

  • really!?, that would be sweet. i'll certainly get that for WoW

  • this is amazing, i would really buy one,

shame that cant support the state of the art games

  • how ipgradeable is it?

can i put in ddr2 on more hertz

or another graphic card, mabe a better graph accelerator if theres suc a thing xD

    ...? :p

  • It's a laptop without the screen. So you can upgrade the RAM and hard drive if you want to rip it apart, but not the CPU or graphics chip.

    - Jason

  • Does anyone know if the Slot Load Blu-ray Disc Combo burns dual-layer DVDs?

  • I'm not sure...it says DVD+/-RW & BD-ROM. I'd be really surprised if it couldn't burn dual-layer discs...that's pretty old tech. Better call Dell to find out!

    - Jason

  • Have you tryed to play FullHd movies ?? Blu-Ray & FullHD files... Does it play them smoothly?

  • Yes, it can handle 1080p videos and Blu-ray discs without a problem.

    - Jason

  • how long do you think this pc can last?

can this pc handle simple gaming like ragnarok online? i just a simple small pc

  • I don't understand the question - it will "last" until something on it breaks...as for simple gaming, yes, simple games will work.

    - Jason

  • lol "the new 50" i bought" lol haha show off ;)

  • Well, my main TV is a 72". ;-)

    - Jason

  • ight im backing off big man :P

  • Comment removed

  • I'm sure you could - but since I only paid $744 for this, how is it relevant that you can build a better computer for $1700?

    - Jason

  • looks like if it would get slow just from week or less of rgular uses

  • If you think using a computer makes it slower, I think you need to read a few Web sites about how computers actually work. :-)

    - Jason

  • i know this may sound really random but could you make a video of the new dell inspiron 17inch notebook? i would really appreciate! thanks

  • I doubt it - I had to buy, then return, the 14z because Dell wouldn't send me a review unit. I can't keep doing that for every laptop Dell puts out. The Inspiron 17 doesn't seem very interesting to me based on the specs I've seen...

    - Jason

  • I have 2 of these systems (purchased them for $299 each at Dell Outlet). One is my primary Fedora Core 11 workstation and the second is a Windows 7 Media Center PC (HDMI to a HD projector). I absolutely love these systems and have never had any issues with them, although I should note that I do not use any graphic intensive applications, except I occasionally play C&C Generals/ZH using WINE.

  • I also thought that the shell was a solid color. Thanks for the gutting of this - those ambiguous photo's deceived me! When I save enough lunch money for one, a better iteration will probably be available anyway.

  • Since i'll be using this as a media PC and using it a little for Flight imulator X would it be able to handle that with an intel pentium dual core 2.16GH'z processor?

  • I haven't used Flight Simulator X before, but I highly doubt the horrible Intel GPU will be able to handle it. This is not a gaming computer in any way.

    - Jason

  • Is the Red shell one solid color or does it have some differences at the Dell logo? Thanks.

  • It's not a solid colour at all, it's a semi-transparent shell.

    - Jason

  • Sorry, I meant to ask if the colour is uniform for the whole outer shell.

  • Yes, it is. I don't mean to be rude, but did you actually watch this video? :-) I show the entire thing, all sides, in it. Watch around the 1:15 mark.

    - Jason

  • Can you Get me some good deals of the computer! Videoline777

  • No, of course I can't do that. Why would you think I could? :-)

    - Jason

  • Hello ThoughtsMedia i mite be getting studio hybrid in my room hooked to my 15 inch tv,i was thinking could i run sims 3 ok! Thanks for the infomation!

  • It should be able to run Sims 3 OK, but remember it's not a gaming computer...

    - Jason

  • Hey man, great vid, im thinking of getting this, the top end version with blu ray and 4gb of ram etc, would that be powerful enough for me to play some games on it as well as use cubase(recording software for recording music)

    thanks heaps

  • Cubase = yes. As for games, it's impossible to say for sure - every game has different requirements. The one constant is that the Dell Studio Hybrid has a pretty crappy GPU, so don't expect much.

    - Jason

  • Get something more powerful. The studio hybrid sucks for games because its too small for a nice GPU.

  • Hey Jason, question for you: I'm interested in purchasing a Dekstop Studio Hybrid as well. I'm currently a student and will be entering university soon; does this machine have good performance when it comes to making PowerPoints, and just plain old Word documents? Should I consider a different desktop? I'm also intending on using this machine for media purposes as well, not just school.

    Thanks very much.

  • A computer from five years ago can do PowerPoint and Word, so yes, this would be just fine. :-)

    - Jason

  • should i get this or the hp slimline?

  • Get whichever one is the best for your needs - you know what you need more than I know what you need. :-)

    - Jason

  • I really like this computer, I won't be using it for hardcore gaming, just gaming online from time to time nothing hardcore, but what I will be doing alot is uploading videos, watching videos, streaming videos, doing college work and running a small little printing business from it.

I think the Studio Hybrid can handle it, I am getting on soon so.....thanks for the input

  • Strange mine is 3.5

    4.9

    4.8

    3.5

    3.5

    5.3

  • mac mini better or this for graphics ?????

  • Probably.. the graphics card sucks on this... it's intel integrated.

This isn't a gaming computer by any means.

I love this computer (on it right now). I use it using HDMI with my Samsung LCD in my living room so it's great for HD videos and any basic thngs like music, photoshop and such...

The mac mini is twice the price and a waste of money...

  • they both suk

  • unless you're talking about the one with nvdia 9400 gpu

  • Jaxon - An suggestions on a solution that has HDMI out and runs 1080p? I was thikning it was tihs dell but based on video #3 it looks like the grapics card won't cut it.

  • HP Slimline PC - that's what I ended up getting after I returned the Dell Studio Hybrid. The HP Slimline has a 9000 series NVIDIA card with HDMI out, a better processor, double the hard drive, double the RAM, a Blu-ray player, and only cost me $100 more than this. It's a bit bigger in all dimensions, and not quite as silent, but way more bang for the buck hardware-wise.

    - Jason

  • you should get a MAC MINI as its graphic card is Geforce 9400 M , while yours graphic card sucks!!!

MAC is stylish too ... YOurs?? sigh...

  • yours is like a router!!

  • Yes, the graphics card on the new Mac Mini is quite good - but don't brag too much, it took Apple more than two years to update the Mac Mini, they abandoned it for so long most people thought they were going to kill it off. This video was shot in August of 2008, when the Mac Mini you're so proud of didn't exist.

    - Jason

  • they have a HDMI output

  • hey wat according to u is the best color in dell to buy a studio should i go with blue

  • Studies have shown that red is the best colour there is.

I'm kidding of course - you should pick whatever colour you like best. There is no "best" colour.

    - Jason

  • Hey I was just looking into this, AWESOME job man, simple review for anyone who isn't like a computer nerd and knows everything, so kudos to you for that!

I was actually thinking of getting this, I know that it's not a gaming computer after I was disapointed in the Intel integrated card, but do you think this is an overall good computer? I want this to last for a long time as my dell laptop is dying after 1 year haha so I think I need a new computer.

    Your thoughts?

  • I'm glad you liked the review! I think it's a great little computer for everything but gaming - it's small, quiet, looks great, and is reasonably powerful.

    - Jason

  • sweet nice videos i learned a lot and will be getting this pc hopefully soon

  • quick question i see there is an hdmi port. So would i be able to hook this to my hdtv via hdmi?

  • Yes, that's correct.

    - Jason

  • The whole microphone deal is a bummer. I don't really understand why they didn't include the 3.5mm microphone port. The last thing I would want to do, after spending $400, is go out and buy something because my standard technology is not compatible. Anybody else feel that way? I think that most computers do still use the 3.5mm port for the microphone, and that it is not an outdated thing. -Rick

  • But the 3.5mm audio-in jack IS for microphones and the like. It's just not pink. Am I wrong??

  • I purchased this for internet , multi-media and emulation of classic computers consoles and arcade hardware. its onboard Intel graphics perfect for it since you dont need a high spec to run even the more powerful emulators like n64 and PSX at max settings.

i do recommend downgrading it from vista to xp not only is xp more stable vista lags since its a system resource and ram hog.

  • Dell has no Windows XP drivers for this computer, so downgrading to XP would be quite a chore in terms of finding the right hardware drivers. Fine for some I guess, but not for me. XP is old and musty.

    - Jason

  • Finding the xp drivers isn't as hard as you think it would be. Since Realtek and Intel do a universal driver much like what nvidia do with their cards.i still had to select xp on the choose OS page on the site though just to be on the safe side.

The only things that doesn't work under xp is the HDMI port and the builtin card reader. I would be greatful if anyone to give me any suggestions on how to fix the 2 issues above.

  • Thanks for the review ! :)

1 question you know the HDMI port on both the desktop and monitor can they be used to play a games console like the PS3 can you please explain this to me as i am puzzeled eg if i were to connect up my ps3 to the monitor that would work normally but if i connected it up to the desktop would it still work through the monitor or is the HDMI port an output port??

    Thanks

  • Thnx for the great review! Still 1 question...

I''m a developer and use 2 monitors. I use the left monitor to code and the right monitor to see the result of the code. When I attach 1 monitor at the HDMI port and the other to the DVI port at this computer, will that work fine or do I get at both monitors the same view? I think it will work fine, but i don't no for sure. Do you know the answer to my question?

    Thanks in advance! :-)

  • I'm about 99% sure that when the HDMI port is connected, the DVI port doesn't work. This is not a good system for dual-monitor unfortunately.

    - Jason

  • i'm waiting for one of these with the basic intel i7

for my gf but it looks cool for a family room and second computer ... some were not in my room/"music studio" to get those people that bug me to let them check thier myspace "real quick"..

good buy thanks for the info

realy convinced me to get it

  • You'll be in for a long wait for the Intel iCore 7 - remember this thing uses latpop CPUs, not desktop CPUs.

    - Jason

  • probably voided the warranty just by unwrapping it

    haha

  • Doesn't matter, I sent it back to Dell. ;-)

    - Jason

  • did they send it to you to trial it?

or did you just send it back cause of the kinks in it

  • I sent it back to Dell because it had too many glitches and I got way better hardware for $100 more by purchasing an HP Slimline.

    - Jason

  • where do yo access the Bios

  • You'll see the message come up on the screen when you first boot it up. Might be DELETE, might be F12...

    - Jason

  • im thinking of buying a hybrid.

would you reccomend it for an average teenager?

you know, music, video, and instant messaging?

  • Absolutely - it's very small, very quiet, and it looks great. It's more than enough for music, videos, IM, and many other things. As long as you're not wanting to use it for hard-core gaming, it's a great little machine.

    - Jason

  • Awesome, thanks so much for the help.

  • Any support for windows XP?

  • Does it come with a monitor?

Silly question but I wanna know just in case I decide to get one.

  • You know how Dell works: you can order most products with or without the monitor...it all depends on the package you picked. When I ordered mine, I didn't order a monitor.

    - Jason

  • where could i buy the blueray drive?

  • You have to order it from Dell with the Blu-ray drive, or you'd have to look into USB-based external Blu-ray drives.

    - Jason

  • Good review bro, I'm thinking buy this pc for office, study and games. But i wish to know, if this computer generates much heat, because when i play games "not of last generation" in my laptop the holes pull much hot air ...

Sorry my english i'm from Chile ;)

    Greetings

  • I ran both cores at 100% usage for 8+ hours and the system only felt slightly warm. It will definitely blow out hot air though - that's the point of those air vents. :-)

    - Jason

  • does the hdmi output bitstream HD audio codecs? DTS MA OR dolby truhd with blu ray?

  • Sorry, I don't know the answer to that question - and I've returned the unit so I can't research it.

    - Jason

  • I have a question. I'm not sure if you would know or not, but... Do you know if there is room in this computer to upgrade Ram or the hard drive memory

  • When I took off the case, it seems everything is under the optical drive. If you took that off, I'm sure you could access the RAM and hard drive, but not quite as easy as on a normal desktop or laptop. I suggest you order this with what you need today.

    - Jason

  • so would it be possible for me to play a game like world of warcraft on it, and be able to run smoothly ?

  • This has been answered 10+ times here I'm sure: it's not a gaming computer, but if you're OK playing WoW at a lower resolution, the crappy Intel GPU should be able to keep up - but keep your expectations in check.

    - Jason

  • why is it that i can only get a Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core T3200 CPU.

    FROM THE U.K

  • Dell offers different products with different features and customizations in different markets - asking your question here isn't going to get an answer. It's just the way Dell is.

    - Jason

  • Will I be able to do HD video editing?

  • ThoughsMedia:

Hello Mr. How does this machine perform with large mkv files and what about the built-in BluRay, plays fluid? I just need it for Media and downloading center...

  • look like laptop without a screen. just like my laptop with broken screen

  • is this pc good for gaming ? and thas it have good graphicks card ?

  • No, not at all. It's a very poor choice for any sort of gaming - please read the other comments and watch my other videos, I talk about this issue a lot.

    - Jason

  • NO, I recommend Dell XPS 1730

  • i was looking for a computer and came across this one. i was wondering if it would be a good desktop for making snowboarding videos. im looking for a desktop that would be capable of making them but i dont have a lot of money to spend. this is in my price range. what do you recommend

  • Are we talking high-definition videos? It might struggle with that - HD video is heavy and needs some big power to work with easily. If it's standard definition video, yeah, this can do it no problem - just make sure you get 3 GB of RAM and a decent CPU (one of the CPUs that runs on the 800mhz bus like the T8100).

    - Jason

  • Hi Jason, great review!

I wonder if you have tested the audio quality of this machine in both analogue and digital out.

If this machine is connected to a LCD TV via HDMI, would there still be signal out from the audio/SPDIF? I was thinking about the possibility of connecting the SPDIF to an external DAC (for audio) while having HDMI connection for watching DVD.

Another question, does this Dell video player handle DIVX without installing external codec pack?

  • The HDMI connection provides both video and audio out, which I tested, and I also tested the analog out. I didn't test the SPDIF port, but I'm sure it works just fine. I'm not sure if when you have one connected it would stop the other one from working, but I doubt it. I didn't specifically test Divx files, but since Windows Vista doesn't support Divx natively, you'll still need a codec. Although I normally use VLC (which rocks!) so I rarely install the official Divx codec.

    - Jason

  • hey, i have an XPS 420. MAJOR DELL FAN. but anyway, what wires does this thing have? like how many?

  • I don't know if I really understand the question, but if you get it with built-in WiFi and use a wireless keyboard, you'd only need power, a monitor cable, and the USB mouse+keyboard receiver.

    - Jason

  • I have this unit pimpt including the New Gen-Mini WiFi N card. I am running it through a 47" Plasma, 1080P. I xan assure you this is perfect for any home intertainment system server ie: PimpT out system. I can not tell you how well this little unit performs. Mine has the 4Gig Mem so surfin the net, streaming movies, vids what ever from any other systems on your network works perfect. As for storage I don't use inner hard drives I run a 1 TB external that can hold thousands A/VC files. Perfect!

  • Thanks mate for answering my questions.

That is a pretty fast cpu and its capable of 4GB ram is nice, but what DDR version? DDR2? Too bad though its not a gaming pc, cos it would be a cool one at that~

  • Yes, it's DD2 RAM. I'm not aware of any laptop using DDR3 RAM - frankly, there's probably not a need for it yet.

    - Jason

  • What every review fails to mention is something that I thought was really cool... The "Hybrid" on the front of the computer actually changes orientation with the computer itself. Using some sort of accelerometer I assume.

  • If you watch all four of my videos, you'll see that I do in fact mention that. :-)

    - Jason

  • Veeeeeery small!

  • does this thing hav plug-ins for wired keyboards and wired mouse? and also what is the graphics memory on this thing? is it good on games?

  • You'd use the USB ports to connect a mouse and keyboard.

    - Jason

  • but mine came with keyboard and mouse, there wireless and dont need usb plug-in, it just works when i turn on the computer

  • thats a huge moniter

  • It's a 24" widescreen Dell monitor. I like it. :-)

    - Jason

  • hmm, i have the exact same graphics card and it plays ghost recon 1 perfectly on high settings, its an old game but it plays pretty good for an intel gpu...

  • Great videos dude, I enjoyed watching them and I'm considering buying one of these for the family computer (my parents gave me a budget for a new family computer, cause they don't know a thing about computers). Thanks!

  • I'm glad you enjoyed the videos, and I think the Studio Hybrid would make a great family computer: it's small, silent, and with 2 GB of RAM (or more) and a one of the faster CPUs (the 2.1 Ghz version for instance) it can handle everything up to and including video editing.

    - Jason

  • First off, there's no need to swear - it doesn't make your point any stronger. The X3100 GPU from Intel isn't a gaming GPU. The Dell Studio Hybrid is not a gaming computer.

    - Jason

  • I am calm. I'm simply asking you not to swear. I can't possibly test every game or program on the market, so I can't tell you 100% for sure whether or not it will play Counter Strike Source. But since CSS is a FPS, I doubt the X3100 could handle it - it's not a gaming GPU in any way. Beyond that, I can't help you.

    - Jason

  • What an Ahole :-0

  • AVP715 that is not Jason thanks for the vids a great help i bought the 2.0 ghz version with 3gb i found it a bit jumpy when trying to play 1080p vids with VLC player , did you find any improvments could be made with re install etc.

  • you can use a program like me that changes the line in port to a mic port duhh...

  • "A program like me?". So, you're a program? Fascinating. It turns out that even though the line-in port wasn't pink, it's actually a combo line-in/microphone port.

    - Jason

  • Hey Jason, thanks for this - very useful. If you are going to do a follow up - would be interested in the audio/video connections. In particular - does the HDMI out carry audio as well as video? Plus will I get a decent 50 or 75 Hz picture out of it (I live in PAL land..)? thanks a lot.

  • I'll probably do a follow up once my new Hybrid arrives. I ordered one with the 2.5 Ghz CPU in it, and mine was defective anyway. The HDMI port should pump both audio and video, but I wasn't able to test that because the Hybrid would crash when I booted from the HDMI port. I have no idea about PAL pictures, sorry...I don't think HDMI cares about Hz frequencies though, I haven't heard of any country-specific variants.

    - Jason

  • thanks - i look forward to the update! My TV will display pretty much anything I chuck at it, but for DVD and TV watching, refresh rate needs to be a multiple of 25 I get jerky playback.

  • Well, when you hook up a computer to the TV, I think you'll only have the choice of 60 Hz. I just checked this computer I'm on, and the refresh rate is either 59 Hz or 60 Hz. I don't think I've ever seen a computer that can do 50 Hz or 75 Hz...but I could be wrong. Have you ever hooked up a computer to your TV? Or a laptop? The Studio Hybrid should be pretty much the same thing...

    - Jason

  • JASON do you thing its good to change the processor from:

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5850 (2.16GHz/667Mhz FSB/2MB cache)

    to

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T8100 (2.1GHz/800Mhz FSB/3MB cache) [just add $75]

Do you thig that i would be a better deal?

I want the performance and i planning to turn it on for ever without turn it off but i dont want overheating the computer

Do you thing its a good computer or i will look for a different?

Im just wondering about the 20% Discount but im not decided yet.

  • Absolutely - for $75 you're getting a newer-generation Intel processor. The 800 mhz-bus processors are the 45nm processors, which are better in every way. Do it, and don't worry about the heat. :-)

    - Jason

  • Jason i have a question I want to buy a DELL Studio Hybrid with: *Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5850 (2.16GHz/667Mhz FSB/2MB cache) *Windows Vista® Home Premium Service Pack 1 *4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 667MHz (2 Dimm) *320GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM) *Sound Blaster®Audigy™ HD Software Ed *Dell 1505 Wireless Mini-Card support 802.11n *Dell Wireless Keyboard & Mouse For $819.20 Canadian DLS What you thing about it? IT IS A GOOD DEAL? I HAVE AN OFFER UNTIL 29/08/08 TO HAVE IT 4 THAT PRICE
  • Sure, that seems like a good deal - I paid almost that much and you're getting more hardware. Unless you're going 64-bit, 4 GB of RAM is a waste, only 3.5 GB or so will show up. So 3 GB is the realistic maximum to purchase, and the SoundBlaster stuff is just software, not actual hardware. Other than those two things, looks like a great deal!

    - Jason

  • thanks for the benchmark score!!!

  • Benchmark Score? I didn't do any benchmarking on it - is your comment meant to be sarcastic? I thought about running PC Mark on it, but it's not very high performance, so I didn't think the benchmark would matter all that much.

    - Jason

  • I meant the vista score thing. wasn't trying to be sarcastic.

  • Ah, the Windows Experience Index! Good, I'm glad I could help. :-)

    - Jason

  • That's a really sweat computer. Isn't it about the same price as the MicBook Air when it's totally 'pimped' out?

  • Actually, the cheapest Macbook Air starts at $1799 and goes up from there. So there's not much comparison...besides, one is a laptop, one is not. ;-)

    - Jason

  • So this is less that's cool. It can even play BluRay and be less expensive too.

  • what a beautiful piece of technology

  • Thanks you answered to my question 1st =) ...

    I feel special :D loool

  • I like this PC I wouldn't mind having it although my PC is fine at the moment so.

  • vista makes core duo 2 a celeron...

  • Good video! I remember that I commented on your first video on the Studio Hybrid... and I wasn't that nice to it :(

It looks pretty decent now that I've actual researched it ;) Looks a bit like an aluminum Xbox 360 without the shell too!

    Cheers!

    Michael

  • I'm glad that after researching it you formed a better opinion of it - I wish everyone would do that. :-)

    - Jason

  • Haha! if only ;)

  • Why do you think the Mac Mini is better? Don't be a fanboy, back up your opinion with some facts! :-)

  • k never mind

  • can u connect the dell so u can show us the windows

  • The resolution while hooked up to that TV is INSANE.

    What is that at?

It's gotta be rough on the machine... Is that more than 1080p level resolution?

If so, it had better play that HD video pretty darn well....

    Not a bad machine though.

  • That's a Dell 24" monitor running at 1920 x 1200 resolution; which is slightly more than 1080p. The Hybrid handled it perfectly - I didn't see any slowness at that resolution. My second part of this Deep Dive series covers the playback of 720p and 1080p content - the machine handles that without any problems!

  • lol object dock for dell (if you set it to not boot with the computer, it will spd you load time up by about 30 seconds)

  • Yeah, I de-activated it after a few minutes of playing with it. I think it might be useful for some users, but not for me.

  • hey jason, do you like the dell dock that it came with?
