some do, some wont. the wireless on/off and the standby worked, the volume keys didnt, i think... its more than a year since i installed w7 on my eee, and at that time there were no official asus acpi drivers, so you may check the asus website now.

running windows 7 ultimate on 1.6 ghz and 2 gigs ram... boot time is 43 seconds. it runs very fast and smooth. i think windows 7 is going to be as good as windows xp IMHO.

it takes about 9 gigs of space for the simple install and updates, so if your HD is less than 8GB then you'll probably want to upgrade.

it works very good but I have a problem with hibernate if i will resume from hibernate,

after the resume display stop it with resuming.

yeah, i had the hibernate problem as well. there is currently no fix for it i think, some guys suggested disabling webcam and card reader in bios, but this didnt help for me...

depends on what you need. i'm still using xp because w7 needs too much memory (have only like 10GB left) and isnt as performant as xp... but i only tested the beta, perhaps rc1 or the final versions are faster

perhaps there's a way to shrink it, e.g. disabling hybernating, making recycle bin smaller, deactivating system restore, ... so perhaps you can get it to around 4GB

my asus sadly has only the GMA915, which doesnt seem to support aero =( i tried it with all i could, registry hacks, ... but nothing helped.
