i have the same one i just got today from my local hobby store. I payed $130. Please tell me i could fly that baby outside. I believe it says indoors only. Cool vid. I will break mines in around the house later on this afternoon. I had 2 cheap helicopters and if i don't pay a buck or more it's not worth it. peace
@fortgreene31 I hope you have a lot of fun with your mCX2. It's a great indoor flyer and fairly sturdy. You can fly outdoors too but only if there is no wind. Even a small breeze will overcome the heli's limited speed. The coaxial rotors that give this heli so much stability prevent it from flying well in wind. But it's a great tradeoff. I fly mine mostly indoors.
@ronhogwarts Thanks. We did get the audio of a real helicopter passing overhead but missed getting it on video. Did you notice the hummingbirds checking out the mCX2?
I have the same heli. A LOT of fun in the house! You have a beautiful yard, LOVE the pool & hot tub. I would have to get a RC boat for the pool, or a plane/heli with floats.
@UtRadioGuy Thanks for the compliments! I would love to get an RC boat for the pool, but the ones I've looked at are either too big or too small. If you know of one that would do well in a small-ish pool, I would appreciate your advice.
@Raptor4007 - I don't know much about anything when it comes to the RC Boats. Get on RC Universe on the boat forum and ask the question. You'll get tons of replys. I always do to every question I ask. That should give you a good ballpark figure on a boat. Oh, if you're thinking about upgrading your radio, the DX8 is by far the best radio out there. I spent a month going back and forth between the DX8, and Futaba 8FG. I'm SOOOO GLAD I went with the DX8. And you can do all the BNF stuff too!
@skaterjerk9 I usually fly indoors in a fairly small living room, so I didn't think one of the higher performance helis would be a good fit. If you want to fly outdoors though, the mCX2 is not a good choice. Any wind at makes it almost uncontrollable.
i like how the guts aren't exposed unlike the yiboo,,,but i still love my yiboo, it handles very nicely. i bought the hawk eye air hog and it sucked so bad i had to return it.
@Snarfys: You should turn on the remote controller first (to provide positive control), then connect the battery to the heli. If you apply power to the heli first, it won't find a control signal and will ignore inputs even if the remote is turned on later.
@deadspace425: Each rotor is powered by it's own motor, and I expect the motor for the bottom rotor has slid slightly and the drive cog is no longer making contact with the main wheel. You will have to remove the front and back plastic shells and slide the motor until it's drive cog is again meshed with the wheel. I've had this happen after a crash, but it's was fairly easy to fix.

Hey guys, just got this chopper today, and had tons of fun! But for some reason the chopper doesn't fly all the time. Can someone tell me how to "correctly" turn on the chopper so i can fly it? I know, i sound like such an amateur right now :p
These little helicopters are powered by dsm2 radios. these radios have faster responses and doubles the range of the transmitter than the dsm radios. DSM2 radios are mostly on Spektrum, JR/DSM, E-flite, Parkzone, or Hobbyzone. These dumb birds don't know what a spektrum radio is...???
@bdabeast05. Spektrum doesn't provide a range for their radios other than "farther than you can see the model to control it" and that is true for my mCX2. I was flying outside when a big gust of wind carried the heli up and above the house. The distance was too far for me to tell which way the heli was pointed, so I waited until the wind carried it over the house then reduced power. I lucked out in this "blind" landing - the heli settled safely in a bush! Thx for comments on house.
you got some guts flying over the pool im just saying what if the battery went and by the time you can get it going again its underwater but good vid anyways
@jarhead12181 A small risk, I suppose. There is a video somewhere on youtube where the owner flew his heli off a cruise ship out over the ocean and made it back. That took some guts.
Thanks, erwin15erwin and 26nosscire. Weather has been too windy for a repeat, but one of these days.
@246bman. Force of habit, I guess. The military uses "helo" when referring to helicopters, but modelers use "heli". Since this video is about a model, I changed it to heli. Thanks!
How did you get that thing to fly outside
traxxasepicdude 4 days ago
@traxxasepicdude Had to wait for a day with ZERO wind. Even a slight wind will push the heli all over.

@Rocklegend49 how do you even crash a co-axial helicopter? lol

@fortgreene31 get an MSR for your outdoor heli. also Great Wall Helicopter 9958 is a sweet heli for only about $60 delivered.

@fortgreene31 You can fly it outside but only on a day with no wind. Glad you enjoyed the video.

hey whats the range on these things? Ive been into rc cars and with a decent 2.4ghz radio you can get a 1/4 mile range. Oh, and nice house : )
