  • How have I not explored Agalloch any further than "You Were But a Ghost in My Arms"?

    they're sooo good!

  • DOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMM

  • Though I no longer live in Oregon, listening to Agalloch always makes me feel like I'm there in a forest by a waterfall.

  • I always listen to Agalloch, WITTR, Burzum, Immortal, Emperor, or Alcest when playing Skyrim. Just feels fitting.

  • boner

  • that was a dark and beautiful song. thanx!

  • I don't like Megadeth and otthers but this is different, black ideas, dark music... Kool ! Thanx and thanx again !

  • This is what I think Oregon sounds like.

  • @Chembletek that better become a top comment

  • @Chembletek I always listen Agalloch when ever I travel to or stay in Oregon. It's an unmatched experience: listening to all of "Ashes Against the Grain" on the Oregon coast, in the pine forests.

  • @FangsOfTheNidhogg

Dead Winter days and Falling snow are great songs to listen to when your at the top of Mt Hood over looking the the pine trees. The side that doesn't have any signs of human interference.

  • What do you feel? Now that you have experienced this song... Tell me... Blessed? Connected? What does one feel when their mind has fallen so silent?

  • @Anthonyofthenorth My mind doesn't fall silent when I listen to this specific song by Agalloch. Instead it strums along with the guitars.

  • Shit takes me back. I grew up to this song. I love just about any and every kind of Metal, but Agalloch just makes everything else feel kind of like a gimmick.

  • agalloch are just something else, not like anyone

  • Skyrim + Agalloch = HEAVEN

  • @666WXP Skyrim + a shot of Hydromorphone in the arm. Agalloch = Bliss. Fuck this life.

  • @temptstress666 AHAHAHA your telling me brother! Id rather it be oxymorphone tho...aww only in my dreams

  • this song is special. every

time i hear this song i have weird feeling...awesome!

  • luscious and frosty, an epic tune out of the American northwest.

  • What album is this on can somebody tell me?

  • @blickluke Its from Ashes Against the Grain

  • @blickluke Ashes Against the Grain, a very incredible album

  • Agalloch tiene Excelentes melodias carajo !!!!

    \m/ >,< \m/

  • there are echos of Opeth's orchid all over this track, what a masterpeice

  • Comment removed

  • As soon as the :55 sec mark popped up i couldn't stop headbanging(but hey i'm not complaining)

  • beautiful melody...i'm feel so cold when listen to the solo...and touching with the plucking....but sometimes scared with the vocal...that's art...

  • This song could be easily named "Like the waves"

  • Looking forward to winter, it's just great listening to Agalloch and seeing the snow outside.

  • Beatifull song and pic! Cheers!

  • I think he wants to know if there are more Dutch (or Belgian) Agalloch-listeners, and yes, I'm one of them. :')

  • No words to say how beautiful it is... My favourite song since over a year.

  • I'm deeply in love with Agalloch's music.

  • I love Agalloch, so under-rated!

  • i dont even like metal that much, but this band is one of the best things I ever heard.

  • Geweldige band

  • @vdreek48 geweldig=great?

  • @BlackMetalWorld Yes it is :P I wonder why he said geweldig (dutch) instead of great. :s

  • @Cystlib well he probably is dutch xD

  • @BlackMetalWorld Or Belgian. ;) I'm dutch myself, and for as I know, all dutch people can speak English (learned at school) :P

  • after listening to Megadeth for 10 years, they were my favourite band, i listened to Agalloch for 45 mins for the first time today and they are now my favourite band.

  • @nadman14 Dude! Seriously this is a good song. But you can't discard a band for a song. So stop classifying something as your favorite. Like someone asks me which is your favorite metal band. I say it is just humiliating for the entire metal culture to pick 1 band or 1 song and say IT IS THE BEST> Cannot happen. :)

  • @dvirusd rofl it was just a joke dude. i was just trying to say how awesome this band is.

  • @:) You got 3 thumbs up to that and one of em is mine.

  • @nadman14 You have still much to learn, young padawan ;))

  • @FuckinLittleDreamer nah i am now a fully trained agalloch jedi. XD

  • @nadman14 sounds like megadeth was 10 minutes rather than yrs

  • @nadman14 I love both bands, they can't be compared

  • @nadman14 I've never had a favorite band. I've always liked too much stuff to choose an all time favorite. Listened to Agalloch for about a day. They're now my undisputed favorite band.

  • @nadman14 just listen to black and folk really. There is no way back to your old hearings now.

  • @avend666 completely true, this is all i listen to now. although i like Insomnium as well, guite melancholic melodeath.

  • Better than Opeth!

  • this song takes my spirit to the infinite

  • these guys and Opeth... just perfection.

  • One of the best songs Iv'e ever heard...

  • :O

  • Awesome song

  • just can't get enough of it !

  • 3:32-3:54 <3!!!

  • Just .... perfect.

  • Not really feeling the vocals. Would of preferred instrumentals.

  • @QwoPhasaArius The vocals help make the music what it is.

  • @QwoPhasaArius preference. honestly, he adds on to the spacey sound. I actually really love his vocals, so clean and serene.

  • i love agalloch. this band has so much meanning in their songs, just read some of there lyrics and youll see that they are deeply connected with the music they perform.

  • it's a beatiful song...

  • I was thinking how much i listen to this band on YouTube and decided I need to meet them one day and give them a shitload of money out oh of thanks for them making such beautiful music.

  • @jolkin72 They won't accept the money. Just tell them that they are made of awesome!

  • the more I listen to Agalloch, the more I love their music.. briliant

  • I just discovered this band yesterday and I must admit I am very impressed and looking forward to my purchase of Mantle in the mail!

  • KSCIAA: Thanks so much for all the Agalloch uploads. I have all the albums now except, 'Marrow', which is on back order to me in Australia. As per our friend above - murderaddiction, this song takes me back to other times, and prompts the memories of times spent in wilderness and forgotton places in this country. Hails to Agalloch, this band goes beyond the ordinary... (and is far from ordinary - exceptional leaps to mind!)

  • Yeah, I really like this band.

The lyrics is good, the music is good, the atmosphere is good, I like the clean vocal.

    It's beautiful song.

  • ooohhh god...what a band..i just discovered them...i hear one song and i say..that is my favourite...i hear another and i say...nooo...that is my favourite...i cant decide!!!how fucking great can they be???

  • Amazing, the lyric, the video, the song, everything is just amazing

  • My shitty computer speakers do not do this song justice

  • Beautiful.

  • high quality right here

  • God this is awesome great melodies, great heaviness, great solo and evil voice I'm gonna have to listen to more of these guys

  • Cant....stop....hitting....replay...O.o

  • @TheMourtallah same o.o

  • Thanks for posting so much of their music KSCIAA. It's just brilliant. Didn't know about Agalloch until today. Gonna buy every album I can get my hands on now. Just in time for fall and winter.

  • One of my all time favorite songs, I love this band. KSCIAA, i really dig all the videos you've put up with the black and white photos. I couldn't think of a better visualization of their music.

  • I live in Alaska and I listen to Agalloch all the time. I literally could not ask for more appropriate music.

  • Holyfuck

    I love this shit >:]]

  • Should have figured this was a KSCIAA video, having discovered so many good bands, i'm not surprised in the least. Still head over heals about Rosetta and now THIS. Speachlessness abounds.

  • This song (all Agalloch, really) puts me at peace.

  • autumn is good agalloch weather.....my preference is winter tho

  • This band is one of the very few things that give me some slight form of hope for my country and the type of people who live here.

  • Love how the acoustic stuff is interspersed with the electric.

  • this song tears the fear out of my heart and leaves understanding, calm, and hope. we are all fortunate enough to have music such as this that we can hold onto and carry during hard times. This music has power to bring light to a dark life. \m/ \m/

  • seeing them this december

  • @islespatrick same. Cant believe theyre coming to LA

  • @moobert22 you're seeing them in Portland as well?

  • @islespatrick Nah just LA...thats where i reside

  • @moobert22 They are from Oregon...Why is it so unbeliavable they're going to LA?

  • @GGxBeast cuz dude they barely EVER tour....and when they do they usualy play in portland or europe.

  • @moobert22 Going to try to see them this December in Portland since I'm 20. Or I could convince Don to bring in his guitar at the end of this school quarter to play some riffs of his. Yes he's my english teacher oddly enough, and since knowing that, I'm really digging this.

  • @BMB5150 thats awesome.

  • Until the first 3 minutes are perfect. Hoping that it will continue.

  • The Opeth Station under Pandora recommended this song. This is the very first song I listened to by Agalloch. Such beauty!

  • thought these guys were like sweedish when i first heard this band...found out theat they're from oregon, and have short hair O.o

  • 4 ppl that dislike this have a hearing disorder, they just don't hear this soundtrack right ;)

  • Oni sa tak wspaniali i zajebiści,ze aż brak mi słów... No po prostu kocham wszystko,co John i reszta tworzą. Niech moc będzie z Wami \m/

  • Music to connect the soul and mortal being with the great power of nature. Thanks to Agalloch.

  • Its almost lik the perfect tone...

  • What an awesome band. I do not use the word awesome lightly. Thank you KSCIAA for sharing this great band with us. It is appreciated.

  • it's almost autumn and I love listening to Agalloch in this season

  • @Nattligkorp Yes....WHen the leaves start to change I listen to Agalloch and watch the moon make it's nightly traverse across the sky from my porch. : )

  • @Nattligkorp Yep, winter and autumn are the perfect seasons for black metal.

  • @Nattligkorp Agalloch is best in the dead of winter, in my opinion.

  • @Nattligkorp I also love listening to Agalloch in the Autumn. And in the Winter! And Strangely in the Spring too! Maybe not in Summer.... Ok, count Summer in since its awesome then too. And in the... Oh, wait. XD

  • @Nattligkorp agalloch does have a fall and wintery feeling! i love listening to it snowed out

  • @Nattligkorp Same for me :D

I listen to Opeth when it's winter

    Metallica/Megadeth/other thrash metal in springtime

    Dream Theater in summer

    and Agalloch in the autumn.

  • @draugsvoll01 Bergtatt by Ulver on a cloudy day, Ecailles De Lune by Alcest on a clear night.

  • @somewhathumanlike "Souvenirs d'un autre monde" on a clear day, "Nattens Madrigal" on a cloudy night :)

  • @draugsvoll01 Now, it is complete.

  • Epicness

  • epicness transformed into music.

  • This band's music makes me want to get lost in a forest in the Northwestern U.S

  • This band is all about true music ! It doesnt get any better than this!

  • one word L.O.V.E rate up if U aggree :p O_o

  • more than one picture would distract from the beauty of the song...

  • i heard about this band so i clicked this video, put my headphones on, and within five minutes i fell into a deep sleep for two hours... this band is amazing

  • @guitarguy201 I know, aren't they awesome? It's like calm atmospheric music for the metal-lover ;P

  • @gryffonization yeah thats exactly what i was thinking. they're incredibly talented

  • SOLSTAFIR!

  • @C0linee1 Whoa dude, don't you have anything concrete to say? I mean, that's just insecure and simply put, a cop-out statement. This is not the place to troll around and throw out childish curse words. Intelligent music lovers hover here. OK, bye...

  • this is great, and has a lot in common with some europan folk/black metal. some bands, like Ulver, share a lot with them. i looked these guys up on wikipedia, and it is hard to belive they are from the states..

  • @grindmaggots666 actually u are right 'cause Ulver are really one of their main influences XD

  • @inMYtimeOFneed92 yeah=)

  • this reminds me somewhat of Alcest in sound! works!

  • This song reminds me of being four years old, walking down a trail through Pennsylvanian forests. It takes me back to the sense that the "civilized" world we live in is only a blindfold. It's hard to explain- I guess it's just the instinctual desire to dwell in the natural world like our ancient ancestors did.

  • I concure ^0^

  • @murderaddiction The same vibe I get when listening to Gojira songs.

  • @murderaddiction Exactly. I have the same feeling.

  • @murderaddiction

This sense of feeling has been following me for years as well.

It's great to know I'm definitely not the only one who thinks like this.

  • SOLSTAFIR!!!!!

  • nothing special really... its not bad just nothing special.

  • This is agalloch, next album is always better than past one. Now is good to know that band come in studio to work in next album, because of it i hope to hear better song than this here. This is reason why we must live.

  • This song man, I don't even know what to say it just blows me away...

  • Amazing, haunting, beautiful...there just aren't enough words.

  • Beautiful song :)

  • goddamn this song is fucking awesome

  • fuckin awesome song and picture bro

  • One of the best songs ive ever listened to

  • I wish to see theese guys live so much... I hope they come here someday, if not I will travel in order to see them, no doubt. It`s been long since I felt this about a band and im so grateful. I could die happy after seeing Agalloch.

  • Oh my God...

  • THIS SONG RULES LOVE IT! if u like it then check out falling snow by agalloch its just as good, even better? up 2 u 2 decide. jus check it out and rate up the comment. O_o :)

  • GEOUGOUS SONG LOVE IT! if u like it like me then check out "falling snow"<---- it is AMAZING please rate up O_o :)

  • Sun of the Sleepless has some nice songs. But Agalloch is above genres lol. There's a black metal, there's a neofolk, there's a post rock/metal/hardcore, and there's Agalloch.

  • if i could find these 4 people that dont like this song ,i would smash their heads into a wall of ice

  • beautiful

  • I like it the music,it is calming, however the vocals do not suit my taste. I prefer reverbed brutals, kinda like Summoning,or Windir (In some songs) But again, that's just me.

  • Agalloch is post rock crossed with the European neofolk scene. It hardly has metal elements in it. It is easy to relate to metalheads because of the strong neofolk influence which combines with many European bands. These bands create a distinctive sub genre of metal. Besdies the odd black shrieks and occasional heavy guitar, they are really not even related to metal.

I am a big fan of the neo folk metal scene and can relate to Agalloch a lot, this is my favourite song by them!

  • @powerslave118 I would call Agalloch a post metal band imo.

  • @powerslave118 this is black metal you fuckin lily-livered curlew! \m/

  • Absolutely amazing great unique band

  • Amazing!

  • thanks for uploading the full length of this song

  • To call Agalloch 'Folk' is an insult to the band's originality if you ask me...

  • Agalloch is just one of those bands that has no bad songs. Not one. And on top of that, most of them are great.

  • eargasm

  • Hey anyone can tell me what called "Solstafir" ? google says me nothing, maybe in german?

  • @AndreLuff666 It's a crepuscular ray, I believe.

  • @AndreLuff666

pretty certain it means the northern lights, not sure what language. norweigian possibly

  • @AndreLuff666 Solstafir is an Icelandic word, it means "Sun staffs" or "Sun staves", sometimes used to describe rays of light that streams from the sun through the clouds. In this song they are using 'solstafir' as a synonym for the 'Aurora' that 'swims in the ether'...in other words, the Northern Lights, which are 'not unlike the waves'.

  • Wow. Just plain wow. Pure and simple shock at hearing something so fantastic. This is... wow.

For once, iTunes has guided me right: I like Opeth, and I most definitely like this.

  • I LOVE this.

  • change my perception about american folk and black scene.this band is epic.

    hails from india \m/

  • @jeganathj American folk? I hardly doubt that they take too much of a precedence from "American folk". It seems substantially related to the European neofolk scene if anything.

  • @KojeOnJocko that doesn't change the fact that it's American

  • great

  • best agalloch song

  • i listen to this while i watch the sunrise with a joint in my hand.... i'm in heaven....
