well in this series Batteler is trying to prove witches do not exist by using human explanations without making his family the culprit while beatrice is trying to convince him they do by making the murders almost impossible to solve without one of them being a culprit. its a really good series... well if you aren't gore sensitive :)

@dundeecake It's very simply put: The Ushiromiya family's head has shitloads of money. Every single greedy child of his want his money, seeing as he is dying soon. Nobody wants to split the money evenly between the siblings, so you can see how this adds up to the simple solution: Slaughter each other. If you zoom out even more, the murders performed are made to seem impossible for a human. Battler, the main character, is put in a situation where he has to prove whether witches are real or not.:P

And as Eva said in the very first arc, the family has a very specific ordering of who's next to get all the money, and slaughtering every person whose ahead of you would be ... a little incriminating.

How can Battler prove magic is impossible when he's actually talking to Beatrice, seeing people appear and disapear, watching the events happen from some META world.

And if magic isn't the answer, then why are there so many 'furniture' characters? ("that aren't real"?) Are they all just illusions? (Except for Kanon and Shannon) If so, how can everyone be seeing the exact same thing? It's really confusing a bit huh.

1. he doesnt have to prove magic is fake. he has to prove that HUMANS could commit the murders. Virgilia explained that, as long as he can make a theory that beatrice cant bring down, he can win. For more information, Schrodinger's Cat.

2. it somewhat wierd about that everyone seeing the exact same thing... basically the official response is "if battler isnt there doubt it". an easy way to do this if ur trying to solve the mystery is to forget how the people "supposedly" died. :P

it is later revealed, through eva's slip of paper in the doorway, that natsuhi, along with headaches and pains, also suffered from delusions. so in this case she was just crazy. they were rlly mean to her in the 5th game tho *mad cackling*
