Went last year, to the land of my ancestors- Dominica.
Man I love Kubuli beer, beats Carib anyday.
The nature so pure and mystical.
But almost got robbed in Roseau at night though, so stayed at the hotel and had a nice chat with the hotel staff- very cute girlies.
I fell in love on my way home, with a girl working at the airport think she was native indian, have never seen such beauty maaaaaaayn. I think I love her:)

I was nothing but polite and respectful when I arrived in Dominica and then what happened ?? Absolutely nothing! A polite tourist will only be taken advantage of.
It is very different to go for a day to Dominica than staying there for more than a day , I stayed in this island for 1 month visiting friends and I really do not recommend it to anybody.the bathrooms are alwasy dirty, the food will make you sick, the power goes out frequently..

We have spent the past two summers in Dominca. What a wonderful island! The people are friendly and receptive. The island is beautiful. Take a hike to the Boiling Lake, Trafalgar Falls, the capital Roseau, visit Calabishie in the north where the beaches are beautiful, Castle Bruce, the Carib territory, Portsmouth, the hot springs of Sourfriere, the Emerald Pool, and much, much more!!!

Dominica is DEFINITELY worth the visit. It's called "The Nature Isle" for an very good reason. It's still very pristine and clean. Like stepping back at least 50 years. Friendly people too!

They are different places. The Dominican republic is a spanish speaking island in the northern caribbean. This is the Commonwealth of Dominica which is an English speaking island in the eastern Caribbean.
I loved visiting here... unspoiled by over tourism.....There is a white water tubing trip I'd highly recommend.....make sure to bring a DISPOSABLE water proof camera...you might smash a good one if you aren't careful. It was trip seeing where the actors ran thru the woods for Pirates of the Caribbean.

Dominica is beautiful, but tourism is low because of its lack of beaches. All people care about is beaches it seems. But perhaps that's a good thing-it will stay unspoiled and uncommercialized for longer.

We have spent the past two summers in Dominca. What a wonderful island! The people are friendly and receptive. The island is beautiful. Take a hike to the Boiling Lake, Trafalgar Falls, the capital Roseau, visit Calabishie in the north where the beaches are beautiful, Castle Bruce, the Carib territory, Portsmouth, the hot springs of Sourfriere, the Emerald Pool, and much, much more!!!

I loved visiting here... unspoiled by over tourism.....There is a white water tubing trip I'd highly recommend.....make sure to bring a DISPOSABLE water proof camera...you might smash a good one if you aren't careful. It was trip seeing where the actors ran thru the woods for Pirates of the Caribbean.
