thomas lang is from Austria, It´s a neighbouring country of Germany. In both countrys german is spoken, but Austria has a certain dialect. Austrians sometimes use other terms for the same things and also the vocals accented differently. The austrian dialect sounds a little bit slow, and calm compared with the fast "hochdeutsch" which is manly spoken in the northern part of germany...the south german dialect (like in Bavaria) sounds very similar to the austrian "language"... information enaugh?

The Black Page was written by Frank to challenge his musicians especially Bozzio to play it , the piece is in 4/4 chock full of odd groupings of 3,5,7,11,13in the afforementioned 4/4 format. Thomas pulls it off streamlined and very tastfully while funking it up so to speak. BRAVO T.L.LIKE I SAID BEFORE TERRY AND VINNIE and Frank r.i.p.would be proud , he definitely did this masterpiece justice and blew it out!!!!!!!!!!

i met Thomas Lang yesterday at a drum clinic at my drum store hes absolutly amazing. he told us that he likes all drummers and didnt really have a Drumming idol he just likes all drummers. hes such an awsome guy i wish i knew him personally but at least i got to talk to him and ask him questions. Thomas Lang is pro no doudt.

Lang is certainly great, but overall not the player Terry Bozzio is. Lang triggers everything, and I've seen him try to do independence like Bozzio does, and he's not even remaotely close. Lang strains with it, while for Bozzio it's a walk in the park. Sure, Lang does certain things a little better than Terry. I've seen Lang play on an unmiked kit, and he was aweful to say the least. Put Bozzio on an unmiked kit, and he obliterates Lang.

Good point about the unmiked kit. I've purchased and studied both artists' material and seen them both live. Bozzio pays more attention to touch,feel,and dynamics. Anyone can play fast and even if they practice hard enough. Touch and emotion can't be taught. Bozzio puts more heart/soul into his playing than anyone. He practically comes to tears while performing. Bozzio's independence is definitely way smoother than Lang's. I'm a big Lang fan, but Bozzio is more seasoned and skilled. Peace
