@EdgeStormcrow actually its not from singles. i looked into it, and i found that he plays the heel-toe double bass techneque; which isn't dirty. its a smart way to double bass in my opinion.its good for extended periods of double bass and its very hard to master. John longstrech is just a boss! lol

@EdgeStormcrow he definitily does. you can play heel toe off the pedal as long as you have the motion down. go to freedrumlessons..com find the heel toe and swivel techneque and fast forward about 24 mins in and it shows that you dont have to be on the pedal to play heel toe.

@thtawsomekid33 Heya, good call, think you're right on the heel toe, he's probably playing that low on the pedal condensed version, thx for the vid. I don't really like it as its one motion for two strokes which is quite non-versatile for anything except straight 16ths (i.e you can't play any complex alternating bass drums lines). Probably a bit goat ploppy without triggers too as the second stroke is more of a glorified rebound than a 'stroke'.

@EdgeStormcrow yup, thats all very ture. it also has a weird sounding pattern to it b/c of how its played, but its kinda hard to notice especially if the person who's playing it's experienced enough. i prefer the heels up technique myself; its both more comfortable and real to me, but its not a bad idea to play the straight 16th note heel toe pattern with this kind of music; ecpecially if you have triggers

@Arcturus24 Yeah, its more of a double stroke than a heel toe. Leg drops to produce a standard stroke, then as his leg rises, he catches the pedal with his toes and flips to get the second. Sort of toe toe rather the stamp and rock motion of heel toe. And yes, it is insane! :-D
