all the honour, you are a strong personality you overcome homelesness. by the way i learned to make homemade hoummus in israel. it just takes 5 minutes and it´s the best. just takes 2 big cans of chick peas, 1/2 a glass of techina(tahini-sesame liquid), 5 gloves of fresh garlic, juice of 1/2 or 1 lemon, 2 teaspoons of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 spoon olive oil. put all in one pot and mix it with a mixer till its hummus. eat it with pita bread - guten appetit mein freund

Not seedy at all. You've not lived until you've seen my pad. A crumbling 1907 apt. with :tub in kitch" (plumbing & electricity came 7 years later) central heating made it in the "Roaring 20's (such luxury). Landlord makes sure all the upstairs "renovated" apt. plumbing leaks into mine. Currently waiting for the cement, rock, horsehair, plaster ceiling from 1907 to fall (guess i should take it down & put up some more cement board). You have nice digs.

1. Boil chickpeas and make your own hummus. Saves money for drugs.

@CreepyHermitPoet Soak chickpeas overnight. Boil until tender. Mash. Flavour to taste with salt, spices and a teaspoon or two of tahini or peanut butter. Add olives and such if desired.

@WetlandsRemediation Boiling chickpeas could take forever, better mash a can of already cooked chickpeas with 0.25-0.5 of the its liquid (with a stick blender, it's not so expensive). Add some spices like garlic and cumin and some (olive) oil.

You should work on your jokes, they're not so funny. I'm glad that Jess is a good hearted person and doesn't mind them so much.

I f you gave alot of cold air coming in from the holes by the door you might ask your landlord if you can either use some caulking or that product called great stuff to fill in those holes or gaps. It might help in the summer time from heat coming in also. BTW, what state do you live in?

Congrats on your new place....love all the tea, get a deadbolt..and a door stoper,, put piece of pipe or metal in window frame for night..um, don't be like my bro and forget the key! You need a plant for good feng shui...open bathroom window and run tub water with some bleach in it...don't breathe it, leave for a bit and then drain it..I know not eco friendly ;O... check out thrift or salvation army ( do you have that there?) for curtains etc...
