Still absolutely love my N82, but it's time for a larger screen & HD. I was going to move up to an N8 or C7, but Nokia's refusal to update Symbian has left me cold. Nokia seems lost now. At first Maemo, then Symbian3, now Windows7. Get it together, Nokia. I'll hold on to my compact, tasteful, Xenon N82, but with my next device, I'm jumping ship to Android OS.

for all who don't know anything about the xenon flash , its very strong in taking the pictures and the most exciting feature which most of the people dont know it , is the motion freeze : you can try it if you have a fan or any thing moving the xenon flash will hold the moving in it :D

What I can commend about n82 is that, compared to other nseries phones, it actually loads the software faster than any of the previous batches. It's a bit fat, yeah but it's pretty much functional than any of those slick phones. It's camera is still alot better than iPhone if you'll ask me.

The camera still beats many of the current phones, the only nokia with a xenon flash and the n97 is also just 5mp. n82 is still the best nokia camera phone.

This phone seems superior to the N95 8gb & the N96. However, the small screen and T9 input greatly reduce the camera and web appeal. Great marketing by Nokia - don't put everything in one phone. T9 & tiny screens are just a bit archaic and low-rent, though.

What I likes about this phone, is that its not a slider. Appears to have the functionality of the N95 and N96 but without the slider. Slider phones I've found tend to break or go very crunchy and rough after a few months of heavy use.

1 question about the phones construction though. Is it really solid metal, or just metallized plastic. I've always found that Nokia's metallised plastic as used on the N95 rubs off after a few months of use, and makes the phone look really awful.

I have this phone and it's awesome can't say anything bad about it , keyboard takes about a day to get use to , i mostly bough it for camera it takes amazing pictures and videos GPS is really help full and you can hook on the wi-fi for the internet. If you have money this is the real deal.

Better in every single way except visual screen quality, ease of use (which INLUCDES the simple "multitouch"), storage capacity, and the number of good apps for it and to be coming out for it are both much less, whether free or not. For the camera there is no choice. You will never even care about "not having a camera" ever again once you get a real camera phone. They are out there, and this phone (n82) is on of the top 3 if not the very best one out right now.

There are plenty of things that a full grown adult can do with a fresh out of the box iPhone or iMac that your simply cannot do with any other platform. As an example, this video was filmed, edited, dubbed, reformatted, re-encoded and uploaded to YouTube is just under 45 minutes using a Mac and all without the help of 'uncle Stevie".

A very interesting decision. I've currently got a first gen iPhone which I've been using it for a year now, and are totally happy with. However I've liked some Nokia's as well. such as the E71.

I don't like slider phones as these tend to break too easily with me, plus some of Nokia's construction tends to be a bit flimsy not so hot, like the phone's casing creaking and the silvering rubbing off. Hopefully the N82's construction is solid. I say try both and see what you like.
