Thanks for listening and your constructive feedback - very good advice and I'm running with it. Thanks again and keep posted for future recordings; have not recorded in some time but I've kept my horn out of the case.....
The Water Mellow Man is to me a rather boring song that doesn't give you the opportunity to work on phrasing. Listen carefully to the backing and have a more relaxed phrasing. Try songs like Misty, Polka Dots and Moobeams and some other ballads. And listen to the grand old man, Aubra Graves. Good luck!
Good job! you may want to start investigating how to use space. The space between notes and phrases are very important. If we think about it, when we hold a conversation we use space to communicate our statements. If we don't, it will appear that we are rambling. As we notice the melody takes advantage of space to communicate the mood and idea of the piece. Copy this pattern when you impov to make your ideas more clear. Good Luck and keep up the good work.
@TripleOctaveMusic Thx for listening and your feedback. You're probably right, the mic may need to go; still wrestling with finding the right recording set up that is simple to hook up and not too costly. I see some progress but does seem slow at times...nevertheless, just enjoying the journey.....
@funkjunky245@funkjunky245 Thanks for listening and your feedback. Yes, the timing is a bit off..I'd like to think that it was due to poor syncing of the background recording with my actual playing but I think you're right. By the way, I'm enjoying your takes on the standards; nice tone. What is your recording set up?
Great effort!, don't worry my friend there are a lot of watchers who could not even finish this track but you gave it a good shot keep up the good work.
@staguk334433 Thanks for taking the time to listen and your positive feedback. Looking forward to hearing more of stuff as you continue to improve. Keep the music flowing....
@staguk334433 I cannot agree more with you!!! We don't have to be pros to upload a tune we play... in our own eyes we are the pros ;) 'cause we know exactly what it took us to get here... Great job my Cannonball friend!!! Keep it up!!!
