  • I play ice hockey goalie as well, and table hockey league,i do good goaltending in that lol.I used to be a good floor hockey goalie, havent played in years so i dunno.

  • Those pads r sick

  • worst ever, I even move faster in the net when Im sleeping!

  • lol this is so dumb. Why even try to be technical.. just play stand up in roller/ball hockey jesus.

  • Hey dumbasses those are pad sleeves to slide on floord

  • loves the pad colors... too bad they werent blue and white...

  • nice pad covers

  • sorry i dont know ball hockey well, r u supposed to let the shots go in?

  • Yeah, its called field hockey, it was always a ball never a puck the goalies are hard core.

  • 1:15 oh what a domeshot snipe

  • We're did you get your mask and what size is it?

  • love the old heaton gear, and have you ever by chance been called spider goalie?

  • I play both ball hockey and ice hockey so I can honestly say that stopping a ball is probably harder than a puck. I can see and track a puck better and I can move better on ice. Shooters can also get a ball higher much faster especially in tight. But ice hockey is a lot more painful. Stopping a puck, at my level, is like stopping a ball without a chest protector.

  • so bad!

  • cumon work non ur gluve and butterfly

  • GOLBERG!!!

  • Hey im in SBHL its ball hockey... any tips on how I can stop the ball im not a bad goalie its just i need tips on how to chalenge.. and what kind of equipment do you use

  • I want to pick a fight with #4. He looks like I could take him easily. Tough guy.

  • Comment removed

  • open your glove. With this you can't catch any ball

  • that fat kid is so bad lol

  • if i dont have anymore ice hockey goalie equipment cuz i quiet is using really good road hockey pads good? i no id still need like hockey pants which i still have but like pads, chest, gloves would be road hockey shit

  • its soooo much easier on ice!

  • Holy jeez!

  • well and you can probably slide better on that surface with those on

  • good idea putting those sleeves over your goalie pads so they dont mess them up

  • Eeee yo tengo ese casco! jajajaja

  • I am a ball hockey goalie and I use the glove on my right hand and my stick with the other hand. I got use to it and I suck if I switch with it,

  • Looks fun, i always wanted to play ball hockey(I always play ice hockey and w. puck, but ball hockey's my 2nd fav.) Am i permitted to use my ice hockey goalie gear or no?

  • @PossessedDonutz yes...the only difference between the gear I wear on ice and for ball hockey is the skates

  • @puffthemagicgoalie sweet. thanks :D

  • @puffthemagicgoalie not on concrete because thats rips it up right?

  • @PossessedDonutz he only plays roller hockey hes lieing

  • those drills only work if you cand slide your pads. it is hard to slide when you are playing on broken up asphalt.

  • Uhm...he's not...just a big guy.

  • how cute, ball hockey. and why is number 4 wearing shoulder pads?

  • lol i hav the same stick

  • ur shit

  • this is such a disgrace to real hockey

  • @halo81312936 you're American...what do YOU know about real hockey ?

  • I take that offensive.....because I'm American and I love hockey. It's my favorite sport.

  • @alucardXX2009 I can't imagine life without hockey, and not only am I American, I'm from the south!

  • @puffthemagicgoalie So because I'm American, I know nothing about hockey correct? Stereotype much? Just because one dumb ass whose an American, and yes I'm aware, they're all fucking idiots and I wish I was Canadian, means I don't know anything?

  • @puffthemagicgoalie I know that we just won the fucking Stanley Cup.! Btw, I'm French-Canadian. :D

  • @puffthemagicgoalie yeah dude fuck you when was the last time canada won a stanley cup

  • @puffthemagicgoalie

im american i take it kind of offencive too

  • @puffthemagicgoalie I assume you're Canadian. Tighten up your neck-guard queer.

  • @puffthemagicgoalie What does that have to do with it, I was born in California, but I play hockey, love hockey, practically worship hockey. Don't go saying just 'cause you're American you don't know anything about hockey, even though most times it is true.

  • hey! it martyborbeur! lol

  • did he even make a save?

  • @drcheeeezey yup...at 0:17, 0:59 1:03 and 1:08(with a little help from my post)

I was having trouble with these aspects of my game, that's kinda why I was practicing them...nice of you to take time and write a comment though... thanks for watching I guess...

  • ive got the same problem as you do with the left leg i find paddling down more has helped alot

  • U had one good save but they passed it bak n he took the high shot next time try n get up faster n challange the shooter n take away there shot chances but ok job

  • @babypaco23 thanks. The stand up part of the game was tough to learn, tough to fight the instinct to go down.

  • Keep your stick leveled and out front. There was times you were off balance and that will help you

  • what ugly pads.

  • @clayman1919

dude there like a shirt over the pads so they dont get ripped lol

  • @cod4lord No they're hockey socks so the pads can slide better.

  • hey remember me i sugested opening your glove more? Im just commenting i resently was asked to join a floor hockey league and i took a pair of old socks and put them over my ice hockey pads and man does it work! plus i tryed putting masking tape around the edges of my sneakers so they wont catch on the ground and it helps alot i would suggest that cause now that i look at this video again i can see ur sneakers gripping. post more vids and comment back

  • @goalie1996 I tried the tape thing, didn't work on arena floors, made things slicker. I have since switch to "skate" shoes and found that they work great, right amount of "traction" and slide.

  • I only play ball hockey lol but...my only problem is my glove...can brely stop high shots :(

  • but anyways good vid

  • your good but one probelem you need to get up faster in stead of laying there

  • If your weakness if your five hole, i would recommend getting down lower so that it would be easier to cover it. It would also allow for more lateral movement which would probably help with these drills. When the pass comes across try to slide your entire body over instead of just leaning your torso towards the shot.

  • thanks for that. Since posting this video, I've been so worried about the 5 hole that not only have I solved the problem, I've created more by focusing so much on covering up the 5 hole. the biggest problem I'm having is "teaching" my left leg to go down flat on the ground to slide across...can do it in drills while I"m trying to, but in a game, it's almost as if my brain tells my leg not to because it'll get messed up again.

  • i like how your pads are opposite colours

  • thanks. It's actually two hockey socks, split down the seem and wrapped around the pads providing protection for the pads and increased mobility on a floor.

  • Damn.. im sorry but you need alot of practice buddy... i can do way better than this and i didn't play goalie on a team... gret vid and continue to practice

  • It's easy to write something like that on the internet...thanks for the kudos on the vid though.

  • nice mask

  • yeh i play ice hockey as goalie and i hate those drills on ice they get old and tireing fast

  • you miss 'em after a bit.

  • what the hell does the camera person say at 40 seconds?

  • she says: "Holy Geez!" Watch when the ball flies by the camera, she's focused on the screen so she doesn't see the guy coming to her left, he jumped out in front of her and scared the crap outta her.

  • sound like u have hd no luck in the goaltendin department :( but keep goin man

  • i think your pads look very small on you thats maybe why your five hole isnt very strong

  • pads look like theyre spraypainted

  • I don't wanna be mean or a troll but i would really be embarrassed to put on those pads :s

  • see, I thought so too at first, thought they looked kinda ghetto, but the guy across the floor from me' s pretty peeved when he tries to slide across the crease and gets stuck...then he kinda sheepishly comes over and asks me how to do it to his pads...

  • holly shit what kind of pads are thos? or even how did u put that fabric on them?!

  • just regular TPS Exhale pads with plain hockey socks cut down the seams and stretched across the pad...provides the same mobility on smooth concrete as on ice...plus, protects the pads too, 20$ for socks as opposed to 50$ for covers.

  • @puffthemagicgoalie thanks man!

  • sorry, my bad, these are my old Heatons

  • thiss goalie sucks

  • yup, but he can spell

  • Look, let's face it, being a goalie in any sport is a hard job...Jacques Plante said it best: "How would you like a job where every time you make a mistake, a red light turns on to help point it out and 15 000 people are booing you?"

I'm a keeper in both ice and ball. For "X" reasons, ice hockey goalies have it harder than ball...and for"Y" reasons, ball hockey goalies have it tougher

having played at a high enough level in both, I can say for myself, ball hockey is much harder to tend goal in.

  • i am goalie in ball hockey and trust me it is mucht harder then on the ici the ball goes musht faster and somme times curves

  • @shawndaoust A ball does not travel faster than a puck. Unless you're using a solid 6oz ball but I've never seen any league use that. I've played from ice to inline to ball and I would hardly say ball is the hardest, other than being the most tiring. It's only hard when its up close where shooters can lift it easily.

  • @dafinalone we use a 6oz liquid filled ball by Mylec. They're frozen until game time . We've got one guy that shoots a ball at 106mph. The guys that are hitting 75-80mph with a puck, are hitting 90-100mph with a ball. It's lighter, it's just as hard as a puck (albeit, a puck is solid and a ball hollow) one feels like a rock, one feels like a brick. Plus, a ball curves, a puck doesn't. A ball definitely travels faster than a puck, but as far as difficulty, being a goalie is difficult, period.

  • @puffthemagicgoalie Wouldn't the ball crack when guys take snapshots at a frozen ball?

  • @dafinalone no. Once the ball is dropped, it rolls around and is batted around, it tends to get a little softer rather quickly. However, they're already pretty hard and the freezing keeps them a little harder. We have had a few split though...it's rather funny, had one split on me as it was coming at me a few years back. Just kind of froze, didn't know which half to stop :-)

  • @puffthemagicgoalie lol yeah because back when I played ball hockey a few guys who had a heavy shot always either puncture or break the ball in half somehow with their slappers.

  • @puffthemagicgoalie we use the liquid balls too and from a goalie standpoint they are a freaking nightmare. slappers from about the blue line are the worst you never know what it is going to do. they curve they drop they rise they suck.

  • @shawndaoust the ball definitely doesn't go faster. show me a player who can hit a ball at 90 mph

  • @shawndaoust umm i ball going faster then a puck yeah sure whatever bud

  • @shawndaoust u r fuckin dumb lol a puck goes bout doubke the spped of a ball lol

  • @shawndaoust AND YOU CAN'T SLIDE!!!!!!!!!!

  • @shawndaoust i agree lots of ice hockey player act like theyre so BA, they dont know what they are talkin bout sometimes, i think blocking hockey balls is harder than pucks! just work on quicker reactions, ur pretty good tho

  • i play goalie in ball hockey all the time and im rellay good but wen i play on the ice i suk i play skater on the ice though and im relly good at that u cant be good at everything

  • i play goalie in 4 on 4 ball hockey. it is waaay faster and tougher than on ice

  • how can it be harder ur on feet lol its like street hockey lol i cnt believe u said its harder theen ice

  • you don't slide, the puck, unless it's tipped, comes right at you, the ball hooks like crazy...it's alot hotter, ball bounces more than a puck...unless you've actually played both (and I don't mean street hockey) you'd have no idea.

  • this is gay put on a pair of skates and get on ice lol

  • You know, I play both, ice and ball hockey and ball hockey is 10 times harder that ice hockey, for both goalie and players...

  • be more active with your stick. Because the ball is so much lighter compared to a puck, you can very easily stop or deflect a shot up if you just get your stick in front of it to change its course. I found that that was a major difference bet ice and ball

  • after you get the 2 socks and sew them how do you attach them to the pads

  • It's really simple, just cut holes along the side of the socks, slide your buckles and straps through the holes. YOu have to stretch the socks out a little, but, it works great...I've actually got 5 pairs of "custom pad covers" for each team I play with, to match jerseys and such.

  • if you don't mind could u make a video i just bought some new socks and don't want to fuck this up

  • I actually have been told that about my glove, I've since corrected that, thanks! Yeah, it is a Spidey helmet...it is pretty sweet, thanks !

  • you should open your glove more it would help and try staying square to the ball then make your move is your helmet spider man please reply....if it is spider man sweet!!!

  • If you consider yourself a "hybrid'' stick to your game. Practice your positioning mainly. And if you know when to drop down or not makes a perfect hybrid. Keep your stick down and force your knees as close together when dropping down into butterfly to cover it and keep glove in up position.

  • I've been working on it alot. I've found a very happy medium with the drop down vs. stay up method and it seems to be working well.

  • awesome covering you have on the pads, was that a custom job or off the shelf? My videos are of me playing hockey for the first time since 1986. Back when I played the butterfly was less technical. I think the covers would help my mobility...

  • just 2 hockey socks, split down the middle, sewn together and stretched across...really does help.

  • I also play ball hockey as goalie you shouldnt make a move until the player makes the first move........if someone fakes a shot, i find it easier to not go down and stay square to the ball......cuz if you go down then they could easily find an open spot to shoot at.......and when they are passing the ball in front of the net, dont go down until they shoot.....and try challenging the players

  • i play goalie for ball hockey too, the videos cool but off a rebound u should get up(standing) it would make it easier!!!!

  • I suggest being a standup goalie (Instead of butterflying you put your pads together)

  • see, I tend to play with a little of both, too short to be a full butterfly goalie..I have been working on staying up though....thanks for the tip!

  • Also, I don't play in a league, just with my dad. I'm 4-foot-something (I think 3) in a 52" net. My dad isn't Kovalev, so I manage to save a few shots. My main weaknesses are Datsyuks and waffle(blocker) side shots.

  • Blocker side tends to be a natural weakness for goalies. It's a much less natural reaction than a glove save. As far as the Datsyuks go, try watching the puck/ball...eyes can lie, but the puck/ball never does.

  • I also tend to get decieved by fake shots (My dad winds up, I butterfly, he doesn`t shoot, I get up, 5-hole.) Should I stay down, or only butterfly when I`m confident the shot is off(Sorry my question mark isn`t working)

  • That's tough. Best thing to do when that happens is probably not get up. Stay as big as you can, keep your stick on the ground (blocking the 5 hole), move laterally to adjust to your dad's position. Wait him out and make him move first. Plus, your height doesn't help...how old are you?

  • I'm 9.

  • i tore my acl and mcl when i was 18 in my right leg, now im only 21 but ive been goaltending my whole life, the best advise i can give you is simple, get back on the horse, i have the same issues in practice but in a game u dont think about it. as for your 5 hole that will come as u get less and less scared to use your left knee, keep that stick down, also use your right leg to get up on u will get up so much faster, let me kno if this helped!!!

  • Those pads are cool, did you add stuff to them? Why did you do that?

  • They're actually ehaton Golie pads, I just took 2 pairs of plain old hockey socks, split them down the seam, sewed them together and cut holes for the straps and stuff. I did it because I mostly play ball hockey and it makes you slide across like you were on ice...makes life easier.
