Ronnie Weiss is one of the best. always. Hes also a great guitarist and a good friend. he still lives in Tyler, does'nt gig much anymore but was still playing in church last I heard. It was a pleasure to hear him play.
hi garageband66, I wonder if you have ever heard the Mouse and the Traps song I've been trying to find for many years. Part of it goes, "This town has many faces, but none that I can see. No one seems to want me but they won't let me be," Then part of the chorus goes, "I'm looking for love love love. L.O.V.E. love." That song had an important message and I'd love to hear it again if anyone can post it.
It's not the same song. They have the same song title, but are completely different songs. And for the record, Ohio Express stole their version from another band called The Rare Breed, and never gave them credit. The 60's....
yeah, good song! garage is one one the best musics, and i found so much pleasure listening the artists from Nuggets, great compilations which made me discover amazing groups like this one!
There were so many great Texas bands during this time that only had limited regional or one or two national hits. These guys deserved a better fate than they got they were great.
Got some Kenny and the Kasuals, 13th Floor Elevators as well. I amazed at all of the posts already for a lot of the garage stuff. It seems the most eclectic folks are here in force on the tube!
Texas was also the home for Bobby Fuller who would have been the most famous and successful artists to ever come out of Texas had he not been murdered.

One of my favorites, a classic garage beat with an electric Dylan's influence.

Looking for a post of another song by Mouse & The Traps called Wicker Vine. Would love to hear it again. Can anyone help? Thanks
hyro924 2 years ago
It is likely on the Sundazed release but you run a risk of copyright issues if you post Sundazed's stuff.

I love only the music side don't care for the verses, since I discovered The Clash and Sex Pistols.
Khultan 2 years ago
Well....where do you think they got their influences from?
garageband66 2 years ago
If you're talking about the clash, they threw out love songs when they formed. The closest love song from them might be 'Lover's rock'.
Khultan 2 years ago
Not the love song itself; the rawness and the energy that bands during the garage era had.
garageband66 2 years ago
Agree. And the melodic range is wild and not that three chord bull shit.

Yes he do! I can't help but wonder what would have happened to rock had guys like these got national airplay. Maybe there'd be no RAP!

I wish. Texas was a hotbed for some of the best garage punk bands. Kenny/Kasuals,13th Floor Elevators,Moving Sidewalks,Mouse and tons of others.
