  • Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

  • Wasent that betty wright?

  • @TheColourOfMyLoveX Yes, her and Teena were tight...good friends

  • SING IT, RIP

  • ONE OF A KIND, I MISS HER SO!

  • It's been six months since Ma Tee's passing and I still cry whenever I see a video of her...I miss her so much....I've been to every concert she's ever had in Las Vegas and the idea that I will never see her again in flesh and blood is just too much...

  • JUST THE SWEET VOICE OF LADY T BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYES. SO BEAUTIFUL!

  • I am glad they gave Teena her flowers before she died. Rest in peace baby girl. I am missing you.

  • Man oh man oh man oh man---she makes me cry--still. I can't even describe the LOVE we have for her. I'm so happy she was here--to leave us such wonderful music to last us forever-Her voice will live with me forever n' ever~ We will adore you always Teena. Love!

  • Nothing short of magical. One of the best ever. Teena is part of an era gone by.....no way to replace her.

  • R>I>P> LADY T

  • @MrArpas12345 Why the sad face? You're not fooling anybody but you hiding behind your so called broken heart Tina's departure, then spewing your self righteous judgement @ someone you don't know jack-shit about. Take your fucking bullshit to the record store and and spit your venum up close & face to face. Lurking behind the back drop of the internet is so cowardly. YOU are 1 one of the reasons people don't come to Christ. How do you think that will go over when YOU reach judgement?:(

  • Sing it Tina..

  • fanatastic vocals. Wow. Miss T. was amazing.

  • Im going to miss you I'm in tears RIP Lady T

  • @TheDwilder5

I saw her this summer, my first time, and I will never forget it. She was awesome! I could feel the love from her. And we were outside in a stadium.

  • I love the way EVERYBODY'S singing with her (smile) it warms my heart to remember her (sigh) God I'm gona miss her so damn much

  • too bad she never sang for the Lord, what a waste of talent :(

  • @MrArpas12345 you need to do your research.

  • @MrArpas12345 Awaste of talent according to who?...It was God who blessed her with that talent and her albums often sung of Jesus Christ and his impact on her life. Don't judge her If you don't know all her music!!

  • Lady T singing from her soul with depth & rare beauty...deserves every accolade & happy to see this one came in her lifetime and she responded with an incredible performance for everyone to savor and enjoy...star on walk of fame hope already happened and if not for shame...music legend incomparable as composer, musician, performer and a voice that defies description...pure musical genius and gone too soon...RIP sweet lady of soul and you will be missed but the lead voice in the heavenly choir!

  • Big Up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • She needs to get walk of fame in hollywood and needs to get into the rock and roll hall of fame next year. Rest in Peace Teena Marie you'll be missed forever and beyond. Thank you for all of your kindness, class, and style.

  • @richlove404 TOTALLY!!

  • lady T you are the one

  • Ms.Teena Marie..Lady "T"...Many may come..and try to come close..but there will certainly NEVER be another one like you..You were true to the soul..a true sistah..I LOVE you because you are so very beautiful...RIP..sweet Angel..

  • WOW GONE TOO SOON

  • Lady T, you will be missesd.

  • WE LUV YOU TEENA!!! HEAVEN'S NEWEST ANGEL!!!! NEVER 4GOTTEN!!!!!!

  • R.I.P. Lady T. we love and missed you:(

  • When I was a kid, I just thought she was, as they say, high yella.

  • God bless her.

  • RIP Vanilla Child! You were always at your best in this format. Live in an intimate concert or accompanied by only acoustics or a live piano. When I would see you live in concert with a full band, the band would drowned out your vocals and it never came off as it should've. I wish you had a band like Sade who are classically and technically trained to meet your musical artistry. You deserved that but Motown sucked in representing you in that way! Your music will live on as will your legacy!

  • This woman could sang!!! Rest in Peace Lady T.

  • R.I.P teena there are other worlds than this.

  • She was and is a Soul Sister , I love Her and we all will miss her RIP BABY

  • That was simply Amazing.RIP Teena your voice was a treasure.

  • BLESS YOUR HEART TEENA.. Thank you Momma.. I love you so.. THANK YOU.. You've been the lead singer on my stage all my life.. THANK YOU..

  • rip teena. forever live on through your music......

  • A great voice indeed! RIP Lady T :'(

  • so sad she died so young. love u Teenie Marie

  • Thx for uploading this incredible clip. I was fortunate enough to see Tee live in concert twice @ the Beverly Theater in L.A. for the '84 & '85 NEW YEARS EVE shows. And I must say she sounds EVEN BETTER today than she did back then - 25+ years ago! The ACCEPTANCE SPEECH that follows in Part 2 is classic Tee: GRACIOUS, CLASSY and SPIRITUALLY UPLIFTING. Thanks again for the upload.

  • @bonepook Amen....growing up my mom and pop played Ladee Tee and Sir Rick James all the live long years... MMM mMM MMM.....mama would sang these songs to us. SHe sho would

  • Simply AMAZING!!!!

  • IVory Queen of Soul is singing ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!

  • Is she singing with her track? I have never known her to do that.

  • No Teena Made herself !!

    Rick was lucky !!

  • The Boss Dammit!!!

  • Love love this girl.. what a talented Sista!!! SANG!!!!!

  • I MISS singers who can't just simply sing withhout all the videos and costumes and dancers and flames shooting off the stage...I came of age during the very beginnings of the MTV revolution, but I HATE what it's done to the quality of music performers in the last 25+ years. SO glad i was born in the 70's so I got to see what music was like before everything became so image driven!

  • KillED iT!!!

  • baddest singer...noobody can test and this lady dont have a grammy? they need shooting.

  • Work it Teena...I watch this all the time and when she sang ooh baby baby to "Smokey Robinson"

  • This was really really good.

  • 'Early morning whispers to me, I was taken unawares...'

C'mon. This is just awesome stuff!

    If I were a bell...

  • Real Classy Soul Singer

  • Thw white "Patti Labelle" I also think Taylor Dayne shold get some spotlight as well she was just as soulful as Teena and even Lisa Stansfield is overlooked!

  • Happy Holidays, Taylor Dayne is no where the singer as Lady T. Lisa Stansfield has her own style of singing, she i no where near where Lady T is. I admit Ms. Stansfield is awesome, where is she now. Lady T is still making some damn good music. HAPPY NEW YEAR

  • dont know why people still think white when lady t name comes up. tena will kill most female singers out here today white or black

  • @allstatelegs1 I agree with you. I haven't heard anyone til this day that sounds like Teena Marie and let alone has the style of her music. Teena has a unique voice and stayed true to herself and her fans.. Miss her like crazy still can't get over she is gone!! This sucks!! RIP LADY T!!! Thanks for your awesome music!!!

  • she is such a fucking pro, look at the way she handles the mic.

  • amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Teena is the truth!

  • God she still sounds good after 30 years!

  • yes sir !!!!

  • The girl is bad!!! These are some of my favorite songs by Teena.

    Love Ya "Lady T" Always

  • Is that Betty Wright?

  • Yes, she is underrated talent for sure. Teena is bad!!!

  • About time she got some respect. She is very underrated. I love teena! Congrates to you!

  • I agree!!! She is the TRUTH!!!

  • I love you lady Tee

  • Good Lord, that gave me chills!

  • As an avid Rick James Fan, I can say the universe lined up with your destiny-Wow! I love you Lady T (I met Oscar Alston) at a Rick concert in Bakersfield, CA when I was young, I snuck into your tour bus and left a drawing I did of you, and got an autograph picture of you from one of your assistants (I was on cloud 9), God does answer prayers, and I am going to do your makeup (call me) Face 2 face

    Always heartfelt you are Beautiful

  • Lady T, I thank God for you too girl when I was a young girl you and Rick (my man forever) gave a concert in my hometown Bakersfield, CA and I snuck on your tour bus and left a drawing I did of you on the bus. I was so elated. Anyway, God does answer prayers and I am going to do your makeup so call me girl I Love Ya! (Face 2 face)

  • Absolutely amazing. Teena's voice is timeless. I wish we had more of that feel good music. I miss that. Some R&B singers make try to succeed, but this type of singing out ways most of them. Much love Teena, Phyllis (Memphis,TN).

  • YES YES and more YES

  • luv Teena! thx for posting this!!!

  • Teena you made me cry. What a voice. You give me chills and made me cry. I wish i were giving out Grammys,,,,you would have about 10 of them. There is no one that comes close to you.

  • Yes Teena gets her due respect! I love you!

  • Teena you are amazing! Talented! Wonderful and kind!!! Thank you for buying me my first brand new bass guitar... I've loved you and your work from the beginning. Your musical gifts are only part of your many God given talents. All The Best To You!!!

  • Teena Marie Put's these young singers to shame....

  • Most of them anyway,

  • Very wonderful to see some sort of tribute to Teena Marie -- a one of a kind act...and check out Betty Wright : this is awesome!!

  • She is one of the best R & B singers of all time and she has been extremely underrated. Love you Teena!

  • Thanks for posting!!!So glad someone finially gave Teena her props!!!She is SO DESERVING!!!!!

  • it's about time sumbody pay her ha dues

  • omg she did DEAR LOVER her most underrated in my opinion

  • NOW When will the Grammys give it up to LADY T!!! They need to do a tribute and allow Fantasia do it.

  • 'Bout time, finally Ms. Teena Marie has gotten the RESPECT she sho' nuff deserves. This is a singer that has truly paid her dues and about 10 other singers dues as well. Teena Marie is a legend!!!!!! RESPECT to the one and only Lady T, my girl has earned it!!!

  • @iluvmyboba dito to that!

  • @iluvmyboba It makes me cry every time I hear her sing and know she's gone.

  • Teena tore it up!

  • it is about damn time - you go sister!

  • It's about FU**IN time they did something for Lady "T" she is bad and she can out sing alot of these younger ladies that are out thinking they can SANG!!! You go momma much luv!!!

  • teena is da shit point blank! she is a force to be reckoned with! the woman is bad so much love and respect for this woman! she deserves so many more awards its a shame!

  • Of course this performance was beautiful... That is Teena.

But - I thought it SO appropriate that she opened her performance with a song written for her by Rick James, since he had such a hand in the early stages of her career.

    LOL, Simply An-G

  • Thanks for the share An-G! She so deserves this! ! =)

  • @AngelaSingsNeoSoul Rick James did not write deja vu for teena marie, Deja Vu was a poem teena had written and she let rick look at it and her put her words to music. He told people he wrote deja vu but he didn't. on the unsung website if u go to teena marie's unsung there is an extra unsung clip where she talks about how she never got credit for writing deja vu etc

  • @chelle1984 Yes... I know the story - He actually did the music and sStole the lyrics from her journal. So really - they "wrote" it together. I should have said that :)

  • @AngelaSingsNeoSoul Thanks. I hope I didn't offend you with my comments. Have a nice day.

  • @chelle1984 Oh no... not at all - people should know (those interested) the story behind the music. They are both musical legends - I love sharing the truth :)

  • @chelle1984 Oh no... not at all - people should know (those interested) the story behind the music. They are both musical legends - I love sharing the truth :)

  • @AngelaSingsNeoSoul I'm glad and ur Welcome.

  • @chelle1984 Thank you for sharing this info - every time I would hear "Deja Vu" I could have sworn it had to have come from Teena's pen because she sang it so DEEP.

  • Teena was really great in this performance. I'm so proud to be her fan. She looks so comfortable. It took over an hour to see the entire thing (dang dial-up!), but it was worth every second ;D

  • Linda Jones,Chaka Khan,& The Emotions all wrapped up in one nice vanilla package! Go Teena!!!

  • So true, so true!!!

  • What you know about Linda Jones? lol :-)

  • A Simply Singing Beautiful Diva...Thank you for posting...I LOVE MS. Lady T....
