I use marihuana. I'm Dutch, so it's legal. After having tried all sorts of medication only this is working, without ANY side-effect so far (10 years). It reduces tics and it releases tension. Also it allows me to sleep in periodes of what I call Brainwinding (when you keep thinking over and over again about the same thing). I think it's the only working drug for Tourette's and I can't understand why, even in Holland, it is seen as bad, whereas Haldol is considered normal.

DOesn't marijuana like... mimic the binding proteins that are supposed to bind on neurotransmitters? Does that mean that Tourette's Syndrome sufferers have an imbalance in neurotrasmitter acitivty? Does anyone know -- I'm curious to learn more about this...

I think the effort with drugs right now is focussed on regulating dopamine in the Brain. This chemical evidently had to do with movement. Unfortunately it also has to do with feeling good and some drugs that Block dopamine cause depression. Also some drugs cause tardive dyskinesia which is another tic disorder. Micheal J. Fox has

tardive dyskinesia from his medicine, but Tourettes patience are harder catch with this because they already have tics and tardive dyskinesia can become permanent.

He talks about the positive affects of canabis in apposed to other meds hes's been talking since being daignosed with ADHD tourette and OCD at age 6 , he says he smokes between 4-6 grams a day , thats probably hash since thats what we have around here.

he has tourettes and adhd, goes over the types of meds he takes, talks about his life with tourettes and the misconceptions of what the disorder is about...he speaks very fast, and my hebrew isnt that good, so i missed alot
