  • blackhawks are so unreliable they made a movie called "Blackhawk down" and theres a million blackhawk crash vids on youtube, why dont they just retire the peices of shit?

  • @miltonboo

Mate be careful of what you say, us aussies have lost brothers in arms to the enemy, its easy for people like you to criticise the involvement of our troops and say that our soldiers kill innocent people and all the other stuff people like you say, but by the sound of the ignorance of your "opinion" you havent researched into the issue. And mate its easy to preach your anti war sentiment when your not on the two way range with someone trying to put a 7.62 in you. Believe me, ive bee

  • I blame our shit govt, who don't mind spensing millions on pen pushing no balls "advisors" but spend fuckall on our best and bravest. Aussie soldiers deserve better than having to deal with shit gear. Hear me Gillard you cunt, especially as you said a couple of months ago we'll be in Afghanistan for at the next 10 yrs and probably more. stupid bitch

  • aussie troops die from everything but combat lollllllll retards! the taliban is just another setup by the US! the US brought them into power and now they are at war with them? Just like the US brought Saddam in power and then they kill him? lollll you aussies are the most gullible people on this planet! The only reason countries go to war is for resources like oil and shit! stop blaming terrorism, anyone can make a bomb and blow themselves up, you don't need training to do it!

  • @miltonboo You have a serous problem mate, please don't write this stuff about other countries, I use to but it got me no where.

  • awesome good to see another aussie dead who was probably going to murder civilians!

  • They were doing a training session for a battle assault and had to approach down the side of the ship and do a quick stop landing. Unfortunatly these guys ended up with a tail wind on their final approach and ran out of power, and ened up with the hard landing, which broke the tail. Fuck battlefield2 anyone can play a game!

  • Lol, the pilot must of thought he was playing battlefield 2 where u can land the chopper like that lololol

  • How about they land it in your backyard and bleed you "real quiet like"... fatboy

  • lol predator quote lol

  • Damn...why didn't they approach the HMAS Kanimbla from astern like procedure says? Unfortunately they did that all wrong and paid the ultimate price.

  • Dude ur a fucking faggot

  • you are wea as piss... if you were a real person at all youd stand up at your critics... this is disgusting as a family member of the defence force, i think you should take this off. and if you think your too tuff, then i know alot of the boys in the army, navy and air force that would like to have a word or two with you!!

  • yea same here

  • caboob you faggot i hope an aussie catches u on a boat and throws your bitchass for the sharks to eat that shits not right your either protected by these guys or close to next on the list

  • arial caboob you are an idiot, people died and your joking about it, i think you need help

  • isnt that pakistan helicopters, considering there are british left in britian, you weak piece of crap

  • you have no idea

  • ArielCaboob, you're a fucktard. You're not even good enough to be killed by the hands of Americans, Australians, or British. I hope the little wannabe terrorists in Iraq find your ass and execute you al-Quaida style. Bitch, you're supposed to feel bad for the two that died on this craft. Get off my planet and go ass-rape your father somewhere else.

To those who lost friends or family aboard the crash: You have my upmost respect.

    [reply to ArielCaboob]

  • ur the biggest fag, if i track you down i will make you say sorry to my team. those soldiers were part of the sf u moron.

  • As a current aviator in training, I can just say your crew were a bunch of noobs.

  • your an aviator in training and you use the term "noob" and mock guys that made the cut for SF.

  • yeah... generation y, sorry about that Aussie

  • cunt thats one word to describe you, how about you tell your Drill SGT or wat eva there called that u think the pilot was a noob

  • The "knob" you are referring to was mate of mine. I served on operations O/S with Bingers, he was proffesional both as an infantryman and pilot...post a picture of yourself with your smarta*se comments mate...we'll see how brave you are ...hero!

  • I dont care what you say man I was posted at 5avn with him he was a nice bloke but was a bit of a ("we can do anything man" man !!!! and I fuckn know ask the people who know dumb grunt and I was part of the ivestigation into the crash -----so well get all the facts first livewire2005----and I 2 was os with him----

  • or go to the war memorial web site and do it yourself...

  • omg thats suck's. dang it almost looks fake. stupid wind!

  • I just read the inqury about this accident today. The winds made "unsafe landing conditions" and the military investigated the people who let the mission proceed. It was not mechinical failure. The wind caused the helicopter to shove backwords into the deck, imidiatly throwing it into the water. The pilots survived the impact but drowned afterwords.

  • it's tragic, but the video looks like cgi, even though i know it's not. i guess it's just the way it happened made it look like it wasn't real.

  • thats sad how can u guys make jokes about it

  • fucking bots

  • lol xD

  • Drop the collective and cut the power on impact and all would have been well. But is easy to see in hindsight, anothter thing when in the battle

  • RIP !!

  • Paws it at 00:12 you see the tail rotar hit the eadge. and at 00:13 you see it fly off.

  • Came in too hard, lost the rotor, and couldn't put enough torque in the main rotor to compensate. Terrible.

  • Lost the rotor? How do you mean? is that the 'rotor droop' the newspaper talked about?

  • Tail rotor, sorry.

  • This accident should never have happened and this video shouldn't be posted.

Have some respect for those fallen in the line of duty, for those who died to protect the life you enjoy and for those still serving, deployed or otherwise.

  • aussie invent water proof chopper!!

  • why doesn't Australia have any aircraft carriers anymore, wouldn't that make it easier to land. Rather then trying to land on a little platform that is moving. maybe we should buy the USS Kitty Hawk off the USA, because they are going to scrap it next year anyway. The government never should have sold the HMAS Melbourne back in the 1980s to china of all country's.

  • Buy the USS Kitty Hawk???? Any idea how expensive those big old ships are to maintain? The Australian Defence budget couldn't afford it. And besides, where would they get crew to serve it?

  • dunno but i heard we are getting some dutch aircraft carriers

  • the helicopter should of expolded

  • you moron my mate was on the chopper, a good bloke to.. RIP Josh Porter

  • your mate?

  • is it just me or is this video fucking disturbing to watch?

  • digSAS i have to know are u really a sasr trooper?

  • lol no way mate, just a kid who wishes he was :P

  • I do not think it is petty and arrogant to call it like you see it, if it means acknowledging what had happened and why it happened, and making improvements that will ultimately and eventually save lives. Whitewashing and cover-ups should be frowned upon, or else nothing positive will come out of this tragedy. Something stuffed up, and so far, we know it wasn't the helo.

  • do you also think that some amature sitting in his chair at home arrogantly commenting on a national tragedy on a video website is going to as you say it "make improvements"? have some tact for god sakes... no, better still why dont you take ur ""findings"" to the national inquiry about the cause of the accident, perhaps you can even enlighten the professionals

  • The accident did not happen yesterday. People die everyday. If you have anymore problems then I suggest you see a counsellor. If you are in the ADF then let me remind you that you should go through your chain of command to see a psych. If not then drink some concrete and harden up!

  • im not going to exchange gutter words with the likes of you. your statemen ts clearly show the measure of your mateship and if u are a serving member i pity you

  • I wish I could return the favour, but sorry, I don't pity the weak. Death is an ever-present factor when serving in the ADF. If you can't accept that, then if you are a serving member I suggest you seek life elsewhere. You are too melodramatic. Move on, and stop being so soft. You throw around the word "Mateship" like you know what it really means. Now that's arrogant!

  • out of interest bravo,in which corps you serve? how much operational exprience do you have? hav you ever been on deployment? i have my doubts Bravo. i hve tehe rerspect of my men because eac my men are my mates. showing compassion is not weakness, it is fundmental to the existencef a fightingforce in a hostile evironment. do ot preach to me about what i neccesary to serve in the ADF, you are out of your depth

  • Just the sort of response I expected from you. It took a while but finally you pulled it out! Well? YOU FIRST! Leadership is not a popularity contest, or about friendship, and you don't sound like someone who can make hard decisions. I'm not there to be liked, and neither are you, but I'm respected and get the job done, because I work and ppl know it, and have no excuse for not working. Go make friends somewhere else, outside of work.

  • I think I'll wait for the FACTS out of the BOI before I start judging people in an open forum like this. However, I do respect peoples right to freedom of speech; retards included!

  • FACT: The Govt. aired the video, despite opposition from the deceased's family. FACT: Experts testified at the BOI stating there was NO MECHANICAL PROBLEM. FACT: One Trooper said that Capt. Bingley was "The Michael Shumacher of Helos" (poor choice of words IMO). Use your brain and see where the Govt is going with this. The BOI now is just a formality.

  • In short Capt. Bingley will be found to be at fault. If you cared to notice the pattern in all the other inquiries that have occured, you will see what I mean. The few facts that have come out of the BOI already make the late Bingers' position look weak.

  • actually Bravo, i do agree with you that "the shumacher Helo pilots" was bad choice of words. im a capt in the RAINF but my battalion doesn matter. what corps are you from?

  • gentleman, the fact remains. Australian service men have lost their lives. Do not be so petty as to try and place blame from your armchair, it only confirms your arrogance. respect the dead, and respect those who are still dealing with the loss. for god sakes we are Australian, show some Mateship

  • it was coming in way too hot we cannot blame the wind on everything so i blame the pilot.

  • My Mate Bingers was the pilot of the Blackhawk that crashed onto Kanimbla. He was a QFI(Qualified Flying Instructor), a great pilot, and a bloody good bloke. So lets keep our comments to ourselves until the inquiry has run its course. Those of us who work on helicopters every day know that sometimes it is pilot error, sometimes it is mechanical or structural failure, and sometimes shit happens.

  • well your "mate bingers" is still alive that other guy isn't now is he. shit does happen(it comes out too) but when a helicopter slams into a landing pad so hard that it snaps the tail rotor off structural failure is the result not the cause something else must have happened

  • You dont know your facts as my mate is the dead pilot

  • gday mikey, we all feel for your mates loss. the entire ADF is reeling mate. im sorry

  • ever heard of crosswind landings?

know your facts before you talk

  • No I've never heard of that, is that when you try and crash into the ship?

  • no its when you fly beside the ship and turn around to land on the helo pad

  • Most aviation accidents are the cause of pilot error and even the most experienced pilots make mistakes. So far the inquiry has not found anything mechanically wrong with the helo, and regardless of other factors like wind, it is the Pilot who is making the decisions. Prima Facie evidence leans negatively towards "your mate Bingers" stuffing up his approach. I'm not doubting he's a good bloke, but until we know different then I'll call this spade a spade.

  • Amazing video... terrible tragedy!

The guy who got out of the chopper and swam up, reportedly then hit the bottom of the ship, and had to wade accross it to find the surface - He was an experienced scuba diver, although I imagine an element of luck came into play also.

  • Fake eh? Most recording is digital on major fleet units, with frame rate limitations, we used to then use Windows movie maker to make DVD's to send back for evidence of various things. They looked pretty choppy. Conspiracies are too hard kids. What you are saying is that the crew onboard is culpable or silenced. Sailors bitch too much! Children overboard scandal and no WMD in Iraq didnt stay too secret did they?

  • the helicoper looks fake when it crashes on to the deck.. like graphics

  • Are you a complete fucking moron? People died in this crash, it happened. Maybe when you stop living in your mum's basement you will be able to comment with some authority on a subject like this.

  • does this video look fake to any one else?

  • umm..no since it was in the news and that very video was from a news report..ya dumb cunt! ;)

  • you can see the pilot on the left front seat fall from the chopper right at impact but doesn't break free. He is then flung with the heli into that spin while his leg/foot is still attached. God rest his soul. You'll need to download the video and see it in step frames.

  • The crew member, codenamed Trooper Charlie, told the hearing moments before the Black Hawk was to land there were signs the aircraft was in trouble. "When I looked out, I noticed that the rotors ... weren't as high as they usually were. They were drooping down, almost level or maybe below me,"

"White puffs of mist were coming off the rotors ... it felt like the rotors were spinning and not grabbing on to anything."

  • Sounds like the blades stalled. Aggressive, tight or abrupt maneuvering/changes in direction can cause that.

  • Well one of the passengers on this chopper said they came in damn fast, and the engine started screaming just before they hit the deck and ripped the tail section off. So it could be 'the wind' or 'the pilot' or maybe the outdated 1970's army equipment our flying boys use.

  • Don't blame the tools. The Army never really envisioned operating these unmarinised Blackhawks at sea. They even partially disassemble them when operating on ships to make them fit, which is a joke. And as far as we know, the experts at the inquiry testified that there was no mechanical failure. If other countries can operate the Hawk series from the sea, safely and for years then the argument of old tehnology is a bit lame, don't you think?

  • Fuck it could have been worse with more deaths. Credit to the lads training to get out of chopper in water! Would have been scary as hell! God bless the 2 that died!

  • did everyone here see it on the news resentlly...i mean is that why you seen it here

  • Tragedy, I does look like an error on the pilots behalf but still you have to remember it's extremly windy up there so maybe it was a last resort from previous failures

  • As I understand it the most a helo can approach at an angle is 45 degrees. This guy looks like he wanted to cut it close after doing a hook when coming from the front. Was there a pressing need to do something like that?

  • yer i heard only sas chppers can cum from the side of the ship and land but he was going way to fast . one surviver got out under water and hit his head on the hull of the ship

  • "sas choppers" hey? Please tell me more about these. Or are they really secret and no body knows about them?

  • y did the helicopter come in on such an angle like that?

  • That's what I was wondering too? This looks to me like Pilot error.

  • actually with all the down/cross wind acting on the helo it would be safer to go faster through it so you dont get blown off the circuit, and another way of increasing spead is by lowering the aoa (angle of attack' of the helo , but it would have also been good to stay slow and steady so you can land safer. But i suppose shit like this happens.

  • Thats terrible! The way the body of the Chopper bounces and bends before it snaps, its so graphic!
