I have been drive a tow truck for 5 years it is the best job I have ever had. Meet good people and some that I wish I have never meet. It comes with the job. Where I am from all our wrecker drivers are like a family we watch out for each other. I would like see people who thinks our job is easy . They need to walk in our shoes and what the life of a wrecker driver is. We are the ones out in the rain pulling out of the ditches and the trees because they are being stupid. some people just don't think about the big picture,there was a teacher telling her class one time that one day we won't need semi truck drivers,they are becomming obsoleet, so"the only way to get anywere is to get an education and get a good job",a GOOD job? how the hell do you think stuff gets to the stores? people seem to think cars don't break down and everything is magic. i've been a tow truck driver for 3 years now and i have more education than some ceo's and i'm sure i'm not the only one.

saw a tow truck driver towing a bloodied car, windshield was shattered and had blood all over it. the airbag was deployed as well, and that had blood all over it too. i dont know if it was some joke, or some prop or whatever, but that was seriously disturbing. they didnt even bother covering it up just dragged it around a main street next to a school. pretty fucked.

You Know I am a young tow truck operator But yet out of Sacramento California I do the EI's for Sac PD and if you dont know what a EI is it is a Evidence Impound for investigations by Detectives and CSI etc etc I have saw alot of things that choke me up today I work 4 days a week 15 hour shifts on call the rest of the 9 hours are on call on my fifth day i work a straight 15 hour shift I make good money but I do see alot of things that these ungrateful SOB'S would cry themselves 2 sleep

McKenna423 I did photography as a hobby. I met a lot of tow truck drivers and the majority of them are great guys!!! In a lot of cases, someone gets towed, goes in and screams abuse at the person who releases their vehicle, who probably says a few things also, and goes away with the attitude that all tow truck drivers are scum. The average person has no idea how hard these guys work, all the long hours and in all weather extremes...for someone who doesn't appreciate it. But some of us do!!!

You know, it makes me sad to see the attitude people have towards tow truck drivers. Sure, just like any job, there will be some real losers. But the majority are great guys. My husband tows, and he IS honest, not to mention hard working. And all he's trying to do is help out some ungrateful people and take care of his family. Next time one of you gets stuck in a ditch, ask yourself, would you rather say thank you to the guy that gets you out? Or just sit there? YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE!!!

I've only been on the job for a year, and allready I've seen murder, suicide, hit and runs on little kids with remnants of their clothes and blood atill on the car as I winch it on the bed.
