The sad part is, because of the fiasco in the men's match, this one got totally overshadowed. There was some GREAT shotmaking in this match; these four showed why they are four of the game's greatest female players. Nav's volley at 1:12 was just a beauty - looked like she was in her prime again!!!
@jcart413 I think it was overshadowed simply because the men's was much more entertaining! This is quite a nice match to watch but it has nowhere near the quality of tennis that the men's has
graf had the best forehand, and quickest feet. she was one of the strongest player for 13 years. after long injury, she lost her strength, but still could manage to beat all best players. people just don't know how strong she was in her prime. graf slice is very annoying shot for the power hitters and she uses it to prepare for her forehand. players nowadays can hit stronger mainly because they have better rackets. or how does 40 year old kimiko date still beat current top players?
The greatest shot in tennis is always the serve. It can end the point faster than any other shot. Serena Williams serve is the greatest women's tennis has ever seen and still is the greatest. She's not my favorite player but give credit where it is due! Graf had the best forehand in terms of power and consistency. She relied on it more than her back hand. She was able to dominate that way by running around her back hand which is weaker. That tactic would not work in today's field.
@MrNeilsy That's true. Everybody nowadays has power and she'd be running all over the court. And what I wouldn't do for Serena's serve. Man. It's better than a lot of the men's.
Henin owns the stage. Well done.

Davenport is the only one with a two-handed backhand on court. :)
