  • This is hardly a lesson in how to behave in church or as a member of a concert audience....

  • i think the sloppy playing was a result from bad lighting.

  • @Capricornboy She was disappointingly sloppy when she performed in my hometown too. I was shown recordings from her children's' concert, and it was even worse. It is as if she doesn't care about performances.

  • i had the honor tho meet Joyce in San Diago

    Ca. a few years ago

    I realy LOve Joyce

I am an organist form nashville Tn

I feel her when she tells people how she came to love the organ i myself had a accedent that left me unable to study the paino

    Chase A.Williams

    Civic Organist

    Belfast TN Lons Club

  • God I love Dr. Joyce Jones, Got to meet her in 96 when working at Glorietta Conference and agian on the organ at First Presbyterian Church in Kilgore, Texas. She is an awsome organist and she also told me her testimony to me and it was so good what God can do. Anyways love this vid.

  • Dont you just love the way the priest sound enthusiastic about it when the kids arnt probably interested.

And why does she have to pick BACH toccata and fugue. Does she think that its the only piece that non organists will have heard of.

When I listen to classic FM (Britains national and largest Classical music radio station). The only 2 organ pieces that ever get played are the Widor Toccata and this piece that joyce is playin. Ring the changes please - What about Bohm, Sweelinck or even Alain

  • I think a really cool piece she could have played for the kids is John Rutter's Toccata in Seven. I think it would be cool even for young kids.

  • I think it goes a long way to show kids the pipe chambers and demonstrate the operation to a smaller group. Most kids think of the organ as just the console. I remember going through those years at a church with a pipe organ and my grandmother never understood how it was able to create such voluminous sound. I always wonder what happened to that organ because after we left they pulled it and installed an Allen.

  • She's amazing!!! This, though I was not to impressed with

  • She played the opening concert for the new Ruffatti organ at my church and boy she relly showed the full glory of the organ

  • I doubt the kids care. As long as the music was "cool" and showed them a bit about the sounds of a real pipe organ, I think this is a great idea!

  • She gave two concerts. We had 1,100 children in the morning and 1,200 in the afternoon.

  • Rests are of no importantacne here. Kids need to see that there's more to the organ than a WWF presentation. Is this the best we can do for a young audience?

  • Rests are of no importance?!?! They're nearly as important as the music. Without rests and articulation it would sound like a bunch of mush!!!

  • She needed to make the rests longer
