  • inspirational story! here's my random-act-of-kindness. just today, I saw a car stuck on middle of road and the guy was trying to turn the engine on repeatedly. I pulled over, asked the guy to put on neutral and helped push the car into store so he can park the car.also a middle aged guy joined me out of nowhere and helped push the car. the driver was very grateful.I felt great, words cannot explain the euphoria. Good karma will return to me, I know it.

  • The map u are using shows the European borders from before 1945 ... but nice story!

  • I just heard this story on NPR, it was so interestingly told that it made me log on to find the pictures. I like this guy bieber, he sounds like he could be a reporter for NPR himself. I like this human interest story. Good stuff.

  • I was gonna write something nice about you, something about the way you speak and your voice and how your honest quest for adventure is an inspiration.

I ended up quoting a swedish poem, by no obvious reason. So I deleted my post.

Best of luck / Fredrik from Stockholm

  • Wow, these videos are getting so popular... I even saw that it was the clip of the day on thriceTV_com

  • whats the exact song by the band?

  • Reminds me of the song Mr X by Ultravox!

  • i think this it is an amazing task that you have set yourself, it is very inspiring, to see how you rely on strangers, to make your journeys, i think that few people would have had the courage. Your videos are exspecially inspiring because it shows how much good there is in most people, that people are willing to open their homes for a completet stranger. if you find yourself in Denmark, be sure to give a shout.

  • @Orchirollen Now I'm getting stupid comments from people. I'm only trying to say that this video is way too good for dislikes, but heh, not anymore.

  • @Sora2314 I imagine you can remove the comment if you get sick of the cockheads.

  • Nice advanture :)

  • he actually did find the owner. tourned out to be a french girl who studied in NYC. he also visited her..

  • Coolest Story Ever!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey there!

I can for sure tell you that they don't have an scandinavian jaw bone structure. They are probably from east europe or France or Belgium as you said.

I tried to cross the US from NY to LA last year and two times strangers gave me money and then I had not crossed Pennsylvania yet!

  • But RAD ON story man. way to tell it..!

  • What does the writing/words/slogan on his collarband say? That could be a clue. Email photography schools in NYC and abroad. Could be Hungarian, Dane, Belgian, German.

  • Who the fuck would dislike this??? the 4 dislikes have no sense of adventure.... im disappointed :(

  • I still love your voice, if i ever start a company where I need a voice over guy... you are going to be the guy i hire

  • haahah does look loke messi

  • so beautiful. made me tear lol.

  • All 4 of this video's dislikes are people who mistook Todd Bieber for Justin.

  • Both of your videos are very well edited. Congratulations.

  • Todd, please, please start your own youtube channel as a profession. Considering all the hate you see on TV, this is like a icebath of happiness.

You could call it, "random acts of kindness". Or just "Todd's adventures". You could even show us your New York or neighbourhood

The world is a better place with you, and your beautiful, haunting, poetic videos in it.

  • i don't know why, but i get chills watching something like this

  • i sure wish i was not reclusive.

there are so many cool ppl.

  • @jen8933 I hear ya.

  • you seem so nice. thank you for making moving to NYC seem less intimidating.

  • Oh wow, can I tell you how much I love this?! Your voice is so revealing.....your video is compelling....we ALL want to help, we want to know more! This is what it is like to be curious, and caring, such a natural reporter of the ways we can all connect. I know you are destined for WONDERFUL things.......it is FATE.......and true to the other posts, if you are ever in San Francisco, or better yet Pleasanton Cal.....this mom will graciously share a day with you too....

  • You have a wonderful gift of telling a story and one day your kids will love it, but you should have your own adventure reality show. From Timmins, Ontario Canada

  • @teenblac GO ONTARIO!

  • @teenblac hahahahaha timmins. is this pascal?

  • @teenblac yeeee Ontario lol

  • @teenblac I just heard Todd interviewed on KNPR, IT SPARKED MY interest and here I am watching the video and enjoying it. Wonderfullly told and put together. I'm glad you found the owner of the film and got to go to Europe and meet her. How nice you also got to stay with so many friends you met because of this darling video story.... thank you for letting me be a part of it as well.... It made me smile on a day when there is so much turmoil in the world.... Marsha

  • I've always been a sucker for 'character development" type movies. I think this would make a great one. It's been posted that this was a self promotion for same, maybe... either way well done. In less than 12 minutes I travelled the world, met incredible people, be-friended strangers, and experienced something deeply missing in day to day existence, simple basic humanity. What will I do with the rest of the day I wonder? :)

    Thank you and God bless.

  • Ur sooo nice..I hope that you got the response you wanted..:) Ur really funny..I like ur vids..they make me laugh..!i would have done it juss because it might lead me mysteriously to the love of my life..ehhh..i dunno..im weird..Have a great day..if your ever in San Jose, CA.Me and my friends can give you and adventure.. We have fun!

  • a bieber....

  • Beautiful video, great initiative and the whole project and narrative is so touching. I hope you'll find these people, but in the meantime you could still travel yourself and write your own history.

You're soo welcome in France, I'd be glad to show you around.

    Best luck to you.

ps : they don't look french.

  • Thanks for adding a little sunshine to my day! Great story, but better short film! Great voice and narrative- I loved it. Waiting for more adventures from you! And the world really is a small place!

  • You are an amazing young man. Whatever else happens in your life, this was an adventure that forever should be something to learn from. Regardless of what chaos our world may be in, people all over this world really are heartwarming and caring individuals, and you had the privilege of meeting some of these people. What a story to share with your grandchildren. Thanks for sharing. (A Hollywod movie for sure.)

  • Too bad the negatives you found didn't turn out to be something horrible, like snuff. What a leap of faith!

  • Todd....this is a wonderful story. Im so happy you took "the leap of faith" and kept on with your journey......very heartfelt. Random acts of kindness...it only proves to me that "we" are more similar than different......I love how open & honest you are about yourself in your story telling....no ego, just you being you. tc............SQ1 - California

  • wouwww this is so so cool, interesting

I'm deborah from Jakarta, just in case your next adventure will be in Asia, you should come to Jakarta and please contact me .....I would like to take u around and I'm sure you could make interesting pictures

  • You're amazing. Don't stop. :)

  • Your story is truly amazing. Your voice is wonderful. I hope that you have found the owners of the film, and they invite you to visit them...wherever they may be. If your ever in northern Michigan, we have lots & lots of ski trails. Come and visit. :)

  • this is awesome!

  • Just read you found them in Paris. Great ending to a great adventure. Maybe find that lady that gave you the money and give her a souvenir.

  • who cares

  • I'm sure you've heard this a billion times already, but just wanted to say that you should really look into doing documentary narration.. The tone and rhythm of your voice is so likeable and awesome, your funny and interesting.. it's the equivalent of having great "voice" in writing..

    much love haley

  • amazing

  • Allow me to take a more cynical take on this. When yo think about the living conditions that about 80% of the world has to live in, must be nice to have the ability to take such an inconsequential thing as this and devote so much of your time, money and thought process to it.And then you meet her and it seems like she's thinking "Who is this weirdo and why did he care so much about getting my film back to me?" You'll probably never see her again and even emails will dwindle to nothin quite soon.

  • @spiegel By now much of the world knows he & his GF did meet those who took the photographs on the film. In regards to your cynicism, many express similar cynicism. Like how people find the means to attend to Superbowl & other entertainment. Find the means to retain, maintain expensive recreation items. Cuz it's something you or I would dor or can't understand, doesn't mean it's weird.

  • @spiegel "It's not the destination, it's the journey." -Universal proverb.

  • Finally a video with no dislikes!

  • @Sora2314 You jinxed it.. :/ It happens.

  • @Sora2314 you really needed to jynx that, didnt you?

  • @Sora2314 4 People disliked it when they saw this comment.

  • @Sora2314 you know when you write something like that someone's gonna dislike it just to be a duetch lol

  • @Sora2314 now it has 4 dislikes because of u

  • @Sora2314 thanks for the reminder -.-

  • @Sora2314 good job, you made 8 attention freaks dislike..... jk

  • @Sora2314 nope.. it has 9.. you probably shouldn't have said anything

  • @Sora2314 now there are 13 :/

  • @Sora2314 There is 14 dislikes now and I bet they did it because of you :P

  • i just read about this on yahoo news. today is the first time i heard of this. your videos are very well done. they remind me of something you'd see on pbs. you are so articulate. whoever did the video has a wonderful eye. the part about all the encouraging things people wrote in, offering couches and beers and prayers, made me cry a little. it was very sweet. God bless you and everyone who was kind enough to offer you help. you have inspired me, in many ways... mostly to be more adventurous.

  • that is really cool!

  • Someday, I am going to tell this story to my children.

  • It's good to know as crazy as the world is there are crazy good people out there. Congrats Todd your patience and craziness paid off. "If I have made any valuable discoveries, it has been owing more to patient attention than to any other talent." -- Sir Isaac Newton

  • wow this is history

  • not only do i love this story and this journey i love the videos, their editing and the voice over! and i give props to sydney because i would not say eastpak is french only but she was right!!!

  • maybe the forgotten film wasnt forgotten at all. Maybe these people decided to leave the film for someone to find. Perhaps they wanted to share their view of NY with a NY resident? Perhaps it is a little adventure of their own?

  • Wait... Todd BIEBER???? hax.

  • Photography definitely seems to be more than just a past time for these guys. Try posting the pictures on sites like Flickr. You might stand a better chance of finding the two guys in the photo, or people who might recognize them. Good luck.

  • Incredible story... and your voice is breathtaking...

  • Sweet story. I hope you find the guys.

Your guess that they're from the Netherlands can be right. I'm from Belgium and as we live right next to them we have this idea about Dutch people how they are very recognizable. The guy with the short hair doesn't answer to the description, but the long-haired guy is spot on. The way he has his hair is a common hairdo in Holland.

Good luck in finding the guys (and the lady).

If you ever pass Belgium, let's grab a beer and talk about this amazing story.

  • Truly amazing.
