Let me tell you...don't color or highlight your hair. It really does damage your hair. I had pretty hair like yours to back in high school and then I highlighted it...it has never bee nthe same.

Please don't dye ur hair u have such natural beautiful hair that people would die for. I know I would lol. I use to have nice hair too but like I said I'm getting old with some gray so I really need to hide them with some highlights. I guess highlights aren't as damaging as full hair dyes. But anyways, you'll eventually have to experience some hair dyes in the future but not now. Enjoy everything natural to the fullest. My hair is likes yours, but my hair is longer.I use patend pro-v too, and I never dye my hair or straight or curl my hair, it never good for your hair lol. You're just like me.

Try henna for a color (not sure of the speling)! It's natural and won't dammage your hair! You don't need to take your natural color out because it's the kind of coloration that shows in the sunlight. It washes away after 1-2 months depending on how often you wash your hair! The color does come out on dark hair (I have like really dark brown hair)! I like it a lot!!! Just an idea if you still want to try color :-D
i agree, im of viet descent and my hair is naturally silky and straight and black and it grows fast. however my sisters hair is thin as hell and my mom has wavy hair and my sister has curly hair and other sister has really thick and voluminous hair. they dont do anything to it except wash it with shampoo since conditioner is pointless unless you have damaged/coarse/frizzy hair

people say washing your hair daily makes it grow faster.alotta people say washing your hair daily strips its off its natural moisture, but i beg to differ. an oily scalp doesnt do your hair any good.
no, it really doees,IF YOU WASH IT EVERYDAY. BUT if your hair is either oily or have used a ton of products, yes wash it everyday. shampooing should being washing out the build up which makes sense if you have oily hair whereas if you have normal/dry, its unnecessary and can cause problems.
if only i had normal hair i wouldnt go thru the trouble of washing it everyday , but yeah im cursed with overproductive oil glands in my scalp, so i got to wash it at least every other day... powder is my best bet to absorp the oil building up between the hair washes. washing normal/dry hair daily is the stupidest thing anyone can do... EVER!
@nishal86 - hey :) unless there's sth else behind the problem you have with your hair/glands (see a doctor), you should try NOT to wash your hair that often even though it gets oily so quickly. i know it won't be the most pleasant experience but you need to get your glands to "learn" they don't need to produce that much oil. washing hair dries it up..and your scalp if you di it too often, so, the natural response of your glands is to produce oil as a kind of a protective film.
also, your shampoo may be too harsh. see if you can find an organic one. yolk is good as a shampoo but i prefer bottled shampoo coz it's just easier :)
and another thing - keep your hands out of your hair BUT brush it several times throughout the day so the oils spread from your scalp to your hair. they don't look nice on the scalp but your hair will be grateful ;)

This is definitely genetic and since she's never done any intentional damage to it..her hair is stunning! She is a GREAT example of if a person leaves their hair free from chemicals and takes very good care of it..they can have beautiful hair.

xteeener, herbal essences shampoo hardens the hair so its not really good. just stick to pantene or sunsilk. i think ur hair is just the way it is from the genes of ur family. meaning u are blessed to have a good hair. :)

yep same here .. i hv natural black hair that grows really fast so i can't color it .. i think as long as u eat rite and take in nutrients, hair should be healthy .. cux during skool year when i lived alone, i didn't eat much and i noticed it affected the texture of my hair alot .. so yes,proper nutrition is important i think ^^

I'm sure that dyeing your hair and all would spoil it but I believe so long as your hair is in good shape to begin with and if you can take good care of it then it's alright to dye. I've got dark brown hair naturally and I've bleached it blonde twice and it's still fine, not drying out or anything. I'm guessing you can do a dark chestnut or something if you wish to dye it, but you look really pretty with black hair (:
For girls like me who don't have naturally GORGEOUS hair like Xteener, use sulfate-free shampoo and make sure to blow dry with a good natural bristle brush and aim the hair dryer downward to help smooth the hair shaft. My hair looks like something my cat ralphed up when I don't. :3 I use relatively cheap salon-grade stuff, natural shampoos like the kind you get at Trader Joe's also are usually sulfate-free. Sulfate is the same stuffin laundry detergent! It's horrible for you! Pantene has it!
Same here ^^ I only cut my hair maybe two or three times a year, I just make sure to take care of it. I kinda did the Riot Girl thing back in college, so my hair's been bleached and dyed every color of the rainbow. So I'm more or less FORCED to take good care of it. Grumble whine grumble. I ONLY use sulfate-free shampoo (and yes, Pantene DOES have sulfate, which is horrible for hair!) And I use end-sealer whenever I can. I'm not high maintenance, but dang it my scalp sure is. Ugh.
Don't dye your hair! lol The first time you dye it, you get more damage than you think and you have such naturally pretty hair. I regret the fact that I ever dyed my hair.
It depends on how you do it. If your hair stylist isn't an idiot it usually turns out fine. Gradually is the key, really. Best to bleach your hair slowly over several periods than to do it all at once; THAT is what destroys your hair! Semi-permanent colors, placed on top of the hair shaft, is extremely gentle since it doesn't strip color, just adds color on top of the shaft.
Really? I've NEVER bleached my hair. I went to Jennifer and Company to get it dyed. Either way, it's too much upkeep and it still killed off my hair, and because I hate having short hair, I can't just cut off all of the split-up parts or just cut the color out of my hair. I can't find a dye in my original color.

When I was in high school, my mom was just sitting there and I was watching TV and she said, "you look weird with black hair." It's not like I could do anything about it since I was born with black hair and I wasn't allowed to dye my hair. The first time I dyed my hair a couple of days before graduation. It's hard to dye my hair since it hardly changes color =[ So now I'm just like whatever. I don't bother to dye it anymore.
And yes, don't color your hair! You may pine for a diff colored hair, but the results may not be what you ultimately desire for. Probably genetics, and your diet that do good for your hair. I personally have not colored, permed my hair etc, and I use organic products on my hair. I only straightened my hair once so far, but my hair is nothing like yours. It's kinda brown, fine strands, dried at the ends sometimes, and quite brittle.. :(

Yes, please please enjoy jet black hair until getting grays. Then you can have so much fun dying your hair :) I just don't get it when some moms take their 8 yr-old daughter to beauty salon to have her get highlights.
Mine doesnt grow fast AT ALL. If it did and had it naturally beautiful as yours, I would donate it to locks of love. It's an association that makes wigs to donate them to people with cancer, alopecia etc... It is something I have always wished to do but my hair doesnt have much quality :( and takes forever to grow an inch.
do you wash your hair in the morning or at night? i wash mines at night. after i blow dry and straighten it, it looks nice and volumed but when i wake up in the morning, its all flat and kind of dry.
no don't color it ( I have asian hair just like you! lol) Anyways, I found that when I dyed or highlighted my hair, it got dry and somewhat frizzy. I haven't colored my hair for over 2 years and I'm happy with it back to normal. Well, I guess you should try it and then post a video about what you think :D
i just wanted to let you know that pantene gives you instant gratification, it has alot of synthetic and wax ingredients, so thats why it gives people that extreme silky and shiny, but its those ingredients. but its in your genetics, so you dont really have to worry about it huh? ;)
Haha I have hair like yours. I was wondering...whenever you do curl, how do you maintain it? My hair seems to fall out of curls easily. Even when I did it at a salon with the hairspray and everything, my hair fell out within a couple hours. Does that happen to you? =/
yeaa i usee pantenee pro V and its the BEST out of like them all ! i really suggest them! I changed to Garnia Fructis like a while ago and my hair got worse and then i switched back to Pantene and its now SOO much better =)

nothing will make it grow faster. Cutting hair each month is actually a myth. Your hair on average only grows about half inch per month.

Pantene Pro-V shampoos actually coat your hair shafts in wax, so I would really stay away from that brand.

thats great! some shampoo works great with diff types of hair. and that is why Xteener and us has diff types of hair. :) i love herbal essence's fragrance but too bad it hardens my hair. im Asian btw and my hair is really thick. it suits urs that is really good.

yep same here .. i hv natural black hair that grows really fast so i can't color it .. i think as long as u eat rite and take in nutrients, hair should be healthy .. cux during skool year when i lived alone, i didn't eat much and i noticed it affected the texture of my hair alot .. so yes,proper nutrition is important i think ^^

you are smart for not dying it! i was the same until last yr my friend did highlights in my hair, bad idea! my hair is black like yours too.. she did red highlights but came out looking orange to me.. ihave to keep dying it black every 2-3 months once the highlights start showing a bit. my hair looks dmamaged now =(

I'm sure that dyeing your hair and all would spoil it but I believe so long as your hair is in good shape to begin with and if you can take good care of it then it's alright to dye. I've got dark brown hair naturally and I've bleached it blonde twice and it's still fine, not drying out or anything. I'm guessing you can do a dark chestnut or something if you wish to dye it, but you look really pretty with black hair (:

For girls like me who don't have naturally GORGEOUS hair like Xteener, use sulfate-free shampoo and make sure to blow dry with a good natural bristle brush and aim the hair dryer downward to help smooth the hair shaft. My hair looks like something my cat ralphed up when I don't. :3 I use relatively cheap salon-grade stuff, natural shampoos like the kind you get at Trader Joe's also are usually sulfate-free. Sulfate is the same stuffin laundry detergent! It's horrible for you! Pantene has it!

Same here ^^ I only cut my hair maybe two or three times a year, I just make sure to take care of it. I kinda did the Riot Girl thing back in college, so my hair's been bleached and dyed every color of the rainbow. So I'm more or less FORCED to take good care of it. Grumble whine grumble. I ONLY use sulfate-free shampoo (and yes, Pantene DOES have sulfate, which is horrible for hair!) And I use end-sealer whenever I can. I'm not high maintenance, but dang it my scalp sure is. Ugh.

Don't dye your hair! lol The first time you dye it, you get more damage than you think and you have such naturally pretty hair. I regret the fact that I ever dyed my hair.

It depends on how you do it. If your hair stylist isn't an idiot it usually turns out fine. Gradually is the key, really. Best to bleach your hair slowly over several periods than to do it all at once; THAT is what destroys your hair! Semi-permanent colors, placed on top of the hair shaft, is extremely gentle since it doesn't strip color, just adds color on top of the shaft.

Really? I've NEVER bleached my hair. I went to Jennifer and Company to get it dyed. Either way, it's too much upkeep and it still killed off my hair, and because I hate having short hair, I can't just cut off all of the split-up parts or just cut the color out of my hair. I can't find a dye in my original color.

When I was in high school, my mom was just sitting there and I was watching TV and she said, "you look weird with black hair." It's not like I could do anything about it since I was born with black hair and I wasn't allowed to dye my hair. The first time I dyed my hair a couple of days before graduation. It's hard to dye my hair since it hardly changes color =[ So now I'm just like whatever. I don't bother to dye it anymore.

And yes, don't color your hair! You may pine for a diff colored hair, but the results may not be what you ultimately desire for. Probably genetics, and your diet that do good for your hair. I personally have not colored, permed my hair etc, and I use organic products on my hair. I only straightened my hair once so far, but my hair is nothing like yours. It's kinda brown, fine strands, dried at the ends sometimes, and quite brittle.. :(

Mine doesnt grow fast AT ALL. If it did and had it naturally beautiful as yours, I would donate it to locks of love. It's an association that makes wigs to donate them to people with cancer, alopecia etc... It is something I have always wished to do but my hair doesnt have much quality :( and takes forever to grow an inch.

do you wash your hair in the morning or at night? i wash mines at night. after i blow dry and straighten it, it looks nice and volumed but when i wake up in the morning, its all flat and kind of dry.

no don't color it ( I have asian hair just like you! lol) Anyways, I found that when I dyed or highlighted my hair, it got dry and somewhat frizzy. I haven't colored my hair for over 2 years and I'm happy with it back to normal. Well, I guess you should try it and then post a video about what you think :D

i just wanted to let you know that pantene gives you instant gratification, it has alot of synthetic and wax ingredients, so thats why it gives people that extreme silky and shiny, but its those ingredients. but its in your genetics, so you dont really have to worry about it huh? ;)

Haha I have hair like yours. I was wondering...whenever you do curl, how do you maintain it? My hair seems to fall out of curls easily. Even when I did it at a salon with the hairspray and everything, my hair fell out within a couple hours. Does that happen to you? =/

yeaa i usee pantenee pro V and its the BEST out of like them all ! i really suggest them! I changed to Garnia Fructis like a while ago and my hair got worse and then i switched back to Pantene and its now SOO much better =)
