This is the best vocal video of "Bayan Ko" I ever seen on internet,it makes my eyes watering! I played this song many times at my violin concerts, the melody was always touching my heart!
This is the english translation of the song:My country, the Philippines, Land of gold and flowers. Love is in her palms Offering beauty and splendor. And to her refinement and beauty, Foreigners were enticed. My country, you were enslaved, Mired in suffering. Even birds that are free to fly, Cage them and they shall cry! How much more for a country so beautiful, Would she not yearn to be free? My Philippines that I treasure, Cradle of my tears and suffering, My dream is To see you truly free!
Every time I listen to this song, history comes playing back inside my head. And to think I am only 18 and haven't even been conceived the time that my country was fighting for her freedom. This song always makes me cry but at the same time, proud. Proud of my heritage. Proud of our history.
THAT is SO BEAUTIFUL, THOSE BEAUTIFUL Korean, girl did such a good job and I played that over and over again... and while listening to that I was crying. Thank you so much ( Gracias Choir) you are the best...

im really proud of being a FILIPINO!! hnd lang pala tayo ang kumakanta sa mga kanta nila... kinakanta dn pala nila songs natin.. with clear Pronunciation pa!!! so love it!!
as a Filipino, I'm so proud hearing Koreans singing this song... it's a very significant song for all of us... about our country and our Freedom!!! to be honest i could'nt stop my tears now while watching....
This is the ultimate "sad" patriotic song of the Philippines. It's a song you sing in reflection and brings tears to your eyes as you are reminded of your country and your love for it.
@LeogajeIII Not for EDSA. That was the biggest mistake in Philippine history. This song was wrongly used for nothing but the oligarchs' and the yellow zombies' satisfaction. José Corazón de Jesús made this for something more deserving, the Philippines itself - not the Filipinos who are undisciplined and impudent in general.
@willzurmacht To be honest with you: EDSA is not just a FAILED Revolution, it is SUCCESSFUL in Free Talents!
If we don't have People Power, We will not have Charice, Arnel Pineda, Manny Paquiao and other Filipino Favorites. We will end up in the grip of tyranny & oppression! That is my point! That is the true meaning, as we call it, "Diwa ng EDSA!" (the meaning) :)
I share my tears of joy. Koreans understand the real meaning of suffering during the Korean War of the '50's in which many Filipino soldiers sacrificed their own lives to protect South Koreans from the ravages of war perpetrated by North Korea. They haven't forgotten their history. Sadly, we lost ours. This touching reminder for us Filipinos, hopefully, will rekindle our patriotic attitude.
This made me cry, especially to see what the Philippines had become now. Beautiful song and beautifully sang. God bless the Philippines and Japan. May Japan recover heal quickly from all that has happened.
I did have goose bump in my throat....soooo perfect...so patriotic.....I hope and pray....PATRIOTISM is not yet dead for us most Pilipinos.....any good things done in the spirit of patriotism contributes to our pride and dignity as a proud country we can be.....kudos to the Korean Choir....I love them
Haven't heard this song sang so well, with feelings, the soloist's, even her dress, all went well to draw out the real meaning of the song. Like the others, can't help the goosebumps and tears of appreciation that the choir has done in giving justice to the song's writer. Thank you so much to the choir, to the youtube.
Mabuhay!! The arrangement was perfect, the choir was great, and the soloist was so good. One can feel the emotion in their singing. Thank you very much.
this was the unofficial freedom song that reverberated and inspired people power during the edsa revolution, a historic event that showed the world how to have a peaceful revolution.
love ko na noon pa ang koreans kasi ang gaganda ng tv novela nila, and i love them more now that they sang Ang Bayan Ko beautifully.... a standing ovation for you Gracias Choir!
tangapin nyo ang katangitanging paghanga at pasasalamat mula sa aming puso at kaluluwa na sya lamang makakaunawa at nakadarama ng tunay na ligaya at tamis na marinig ang napakamakatotohanang pagkanta ng himig ng kasarinlan ng aming lahi;........... receive our sincere thanks and praise from deep our hearts and soul which two are the only ones that feel and understand the sweetness and joy of hearing a truthful and soulful singing of the song that tells of the identity of our race

The best rendition of this song I have ever heard of. Great choir and without the un-necessary change in the style as normally done by a lot of Filipino singers. Salute to this Korean Choir. Thank you so much! We love you. Hope to hear some more Filipino songs from your group! God bless!
proper enunciation and articulation of words with such mellifluous voices. amazing. really amazing. i was captivated from the first flute and violin sound until the blast of voices in fortissimo in the end. i love it and thank you very much.

Love of the Arts, especially in Music, crosses all bounds, even different races. KUDOS TO THIS KOREAN CHOIR! You touched every Filipino soul with your version <3
Bravo! Thank you for singing this most beloved song beautifully. We sang this song a lot in the 70s and 80s until we had People Power in 1986, 25 years ago today. Still brings tears when I listen or sing this song. Maraming salamat!
Couldnt stop crying to hear our most beautiful song being sung by foreigners, they are superb singers, I cried because I feel for my countrymen who are still trapped by poverty!
This arrangement is awesome! Filipino songs get a different level of interpretation when done by non-Filipinos. Foreigners have a different idea of "greatness" and "love for country" and "folk" that shows when they sing...
WOW! We Filipinos have a lot to learn from you Koreans in regards to truly loving ones country. How to be selfless and Honest and learn how to sacrifice for the betterment of everyone...... Mabuhay !!

Koreans young generation are now migrating to Tagaytay City, Philippines.Once their war ignites, they will start singing our national anthem too, like the Chinese a decade ago
Well done ! beautiful. Very awesome presentation... This song reminds me when I was a little boy. First time I heard it being sung by my neighbor cousin on top of her voice. That was 60 years ago. I never heard it again. The song should be sung in every church during June 12 independence day just like "America The Beautiful" on July 4th and most national holidays. As I'm reading the lyrics the Philippines has not changed. Still a poor third country only rich in sceneries...
They sang well and with feelings too. It makes you all the more proud of your country. I believe, this too is a signature song of our former President Cory Aquino and its Laban political party and the Filipino people. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!
@MrOxide17 Wrong! Its the other way around. They love the Philippines so much! You know why? One of the Koreans I know told me that we are blessed with so much greenery the whole year round! And this alone is very relaxing to the eyes and to the emotion.
my tears suddenly fell, i dunno why...

This is so good....and with so many Koreans living in our own village, I am reminded that this is, after all, really a small world.

I knew it! Koreans are slowly taking over the Philippines :))

@MrOxide17 Wrong! Its the other way around. They love the Philippines so much! You know why? One of the Koreans I know told me that we are blessed with so much greenery the whole year round! And this alone is very relaxing to the eyes and to the emotion.
